Chapter Two That's a strange dream

After taking my bath, I put on a free long gown... all the dress in the closet are beautiful, I haven't worn such dress before.

This vampires are sure rich and they don't look the way I portrays vampires in my head... thinking they will look bloody and fetish

I stare at my reflection through the mirror, my face looks pale and tired but it still can't hide my beauty

I am beautiful, I don't need anyone to tell me. That's what mama said, you will be your first admirer before expecting others to admire you

I just allow my hair to fall down my waist, I don't know how to style hair and I don't think of any reason styling it now

I left the mirror to the window, I was tempted to open it... I haven't seen the sky since I came here, I know it hasn't been long but am craving to see the sky and allow the sun rays touch my skin, they look so pale.

I also want to know what the environment looks like, to know if I can be able to escape if I sense any danger

I gently release the window lock and fling it open, I don't have anything to fear, am the only one here .... no vampire is here so am not doing anything wrong

The window is finally open, revealing the dark sky... I didn't know that sun has set and it is night already

I can see some vampires outside doing various things, they look happy but I kind of pity them... they can only see the sky at night and they won't even feel the radiant of sun on their skin, what a hard life to live

The cool breeze which enters the room falls on my face and I love the feeling. I close my eyes to enjoy the esctacy but those ugly events starts replaying in my mind

I quickly flap my eyes open panting heavily, not knowing when the tears fell down my cheeks

Will I ever forget my parents. They are good people and they don't deserves to die. Those witches are wicked... How can they take away the two people that matters a lot to me

"I miss you mama and papa" I mumble starring at the sky

I quickly drafted my eyes towards the door when I heard a clicking sound not forgetting to wipe the tears that fell on my cheeks.

I gulp down nothing seeing the handsome human no, vampire that just walk inside the room

His long black robe sweeps the floor, his dark long hair flows through his back down to his waist. His dark eyelids shone through his dim brown eyes, his pointed straight nose situated his beautiful face

I can't deny it, vampires are beautiful creatures... this man standing right in front of me together with Erin and the tall man that was there when I woke up are all the evidence which shows vampires are beautiful creatures

I stood fix not moving an inch starring at the vampire as he walks slowly towards me, he is tall with his broad masculine features

He must be the master Erin talked about looking at his demeanor and aura, he walks so majestically

Finally he is standing close to me but am still lost staring at him, he also staring deeply into my eyes

He is way taller than me as I barley reach his chest, I threw my neck up so I can get a clear view of his face

When I felt a sharp pain on my neck since my head is up, I realise that I've been staring at him for long. I quickly darted my eyes and throw my face down looking at the floor but I can feel his eyes are still on me

"What's your name?" he ask after some minutes of silent which I felt uncomfortable to, I peep a glance at him before returning my eyes to it's normal position

"Alexis" I mumble, am not sure if he heard what I said cos it sounded only in my head

"That's a beautiful name" he heard me afterall. his voice is so deep but cute at the same time. I still wonder why this vampire saved me, Erin explanation didn't satisfy my curiosity completely... Are vampires that kind, I hope he won't ask for something in the future

"What were you doing in that dangerous forest" he ask and i glance at him

"That's where I saw you" he add. I don't like talking about my parents death, it hurts me

"You don't want to tell me about it?" his voice came up jolting me from my thought, I guess I was taking time in replying him

"Of course not... Is just that it reminds me of my dead parents. They were murdered... by some wicked witch, I managed to escape" I still mutter out, well since he heard my first words which I barely spoke out, he will hear this one for sure

"Sorry for your lost"he said after a minute silent. Am still doubting this fact... that vampires are nice

"If you don't have anywhere else to go, you are free to stay here... I saved you but I don't have the right to make decisions for you so I won't force you to stay here if you don't want to"

But where can I go, I should try and trust this vampires and stay here. I don't know what I may encounter out there if I decides to leave this place besides, they doesn't seems bad or dangerous

"I will stay here" I said

"You can feel free and comfortable. I will introduce you to my people so they can treat you nicely and take you as one of us " that he says before leaving. I watch him as he opens the door and walk out shutting it behind him

"You asked her about herself when you already know her more than herself" Erin voice came up as she walks beside Douglas down the hallway

"I never knew you as someone that eavesdrop Erin" Douglas said

"Sorry, I never intend to do so" she mumble

"Give her anything she wants and make sure she is comfortable and won't have problem staying here... I believe you know the reason why you should do that" he cuts in.

He knew that vampires have good hearing ability, even if they are far from the source of the sound, they can still hear it but that will be if they pay more attention. So Erin intended to hear their conversation, it wasn't a coincidence but he doesn't mind

"Are you keeping her because of your plan in the nearest future or you also have another reason?" Erin ask in a shallow voice trying to hide some feelings in her

Douglas stops when they reach the door of his room and turn to face Erin

"What I intend to do with her or my reason for keeping her is not something that will bother you... you should always be nice to her Erin, just like you was... don't change for anything" Douglas sounded a little bit cold. Erin understands immediately why he said that and it hurts her

She doesn't want to hate Alexis for any reason either but what she is feeling inside can't help it. She notices that Douglas has another plan with Alexis and she doesn't want it at all

"Okay master" she mumble

"Come inside Jed" Douglas beckons the tall man who is just approaching them when his eyes sight him from the other end

Erin bows slightly before walking out while Douglas and Jed enters his room

"Any information about the witch?" Douglas ask once they are inside the room and he settles in a seat

"They are still roaming around looking for the girl, not only them but the dragons and bear clan" Jed replied. Douglas was quiet for some minutes before speaking up

"Don't let anyone have a clue that she is here, not even him ... her mate. have you dispense her scent at the boarder so no one can trace her?"

"Yes master" Jed simply reply

"The witch, shelagh is seriously looking for her"

"That betrayal" Douglas mumble

"She won't get hold of her nor her powers" he add

"She doesn't know about her powers yet" Jed said

"She is still young, as time goes on, she will get to learn of her powers and then I will be in control of it. She will be a tool am going to use to get what I want" Douglas cuts in

"No...no, stop it... Is enough, stop already!" I scream as those forces are trying so hard to take me down. Am struggling to fight them but they seems so strong, there are much of them

Am getting weak already, a lot of powers are against me... they want to kill me

"Alexis! Alexis!" I heard a voice from a far distance, it looks like mum's voice. I look at the direction but I can't see anyone

"Rise up! Rise up! Rise up! Alexis!" I heard the voice again

"Don't let them defeat you.. they are all evil" it add. Yes those forces are taking me down already... and they are evil indeed, they wants the life in me, I can't even see them

I need to fight to free from them,maybe I have the potentials but still they are so strong

"Alexis! Alexis" this time a different voice called me and a hand is stroking me

"Wake up Alexis! wake up" I realise it is Erin's voice. I quickly flap my eyes open and sprang up sitting on the bed instead of lying down panting heavily and I can feel my clothes drench in sweat. It looks like I just break free from those forces and it looks so real

"Alexis, calm down, calm down is a dream" Erin said holding me in her arms trying to calm my tense body

This is the second time am having this dream and it is strange to me, it looks like a whole lot of powers are after me trying to kill me

I've stayed here in the vampires park for four weeks already and in those past days, I've been living just fine. I've learn to trust them and be free with them, they are not evil as I portrays

The master introduced me to his clan and am glad they accepted me as I now associates with most of them with Erin always there for me

She is like a sister and a friend to me and I love her, she is helping me to adapt with the ways of the vampires. Sometimes she will go out to the sun with me to play but she won't stay long, she does that whenever I want to feel the warmth of the sun rays on me

She is able to spend some hours in the sun because of the special ability she has together with some people in the clan and also the tall man who I learned his name to be Jed

She said that the only person that can stay under the sun for a very long time is their master Douglas, that's shows how powerful he is and no member of their clan can stand against him

Master Douglas is not around since yesterday, Erin said that he has a business to take care of. I only sees him when we wants to have breakfast and each time I won't cease to notice how he stares at me, I will feel shy whenever he does that

In this past four weeks, Erin has been able to make me forget about my parents death though I remembers it sometimes cos there is no way I can forget about them no matter how happy my world turns to be

They are there still lingering in my heart

"Calm down dear, is all a dream. am here for you" Erin said those soothing words inside my ears still holding me in her arms rubbing my back gently... she has been acting like both mother and a sister to me and I really appreciate it cos I need someone in my life right now

I hug her tightly trying to calm myself, I fought so hard in that dream that I feel as if am weak in reality due to the fight

After staying in her arms for some while and when I feel like am okay, I gently disengage from the hug meeting her caring eyes

"Is it the same dream like the last one?" she ask and I nod

"That's a strange dream Erin" I mumble

"I know, but you don't need to be afraid, am here for you" she sincerely said

"Thank you so much Erin" I add and hug her again, she accepts the hug warmly
