Chapter Four : The serene scent

"This place is not safe anymore, come on quickly, we need to go back"she rush out her words and keep her back for me.... Is she trying to piggyback me

"Get on my back immediately Alexis, we need to leave here. You can't walk fast owing to your injured foot", she beckons me and I obeyed her immediately... She sounded serious and there might be a danger lurking around as she said

Those scent were washing his sense away that he literally ignores everything around him including his Beta who was calling on him

His deep ocean blue eyes has turned pure red and his wolf has managed to surface. He ran in his wolf form through the forest following a particular scent

That particular scent is driving him crazy and he wants to meet her, he craves for her at this moment... no, actually at every moment

When he reached at a point, he couldn't perceive it anymore, the scent is gone and that got his wolf angry

He growl in the dim night, his menacing voice putting every creature around in fear and submission

He wants his mate, he wants to meet her but why is he not perceiving her scent any longer, it is definitely getting him angry... no, he is already furious

This looks like the vampire's boundary, why does that scent brought him here and now it has cease at this junction... does it mean that the vampire's are with his mate

He was about moving forward to enter the vampire's pack but a wave of wind unexpectedly blows and try sweeping him off his feet but he was able to withstand it because he is the supreme alpha, the most powerful lycan

He turn to a direction, his ragging eyes glare at the vampire who appeared with that strong wind. He snarl at the vampire and attack in full speed but the vampire's quick reflex made him to quickly dodge the unexpected attack

"You wouldn't want to fight me in my own territory, supreme Alpha Lucien" Douglas husky voice sounded through the cold night from a distance, of course he made sure to maintain a distance from the angry lycan

Lucien growl before shifting back to human but his eyes is still pure red with no expression on his face. He won't spare this vampires if they are actually with his mate

Being a powerful lycan with the Alpha blood, he won't go naked once he shiift into his human form, rather the cloth he wore when he shifted into his wolf form will be on him

"Where is my mate" his voice thunders but Douglas didn't flinch because he is a powerful vampire himself but if it could be any weak creature, it would have been on his knees the moment the thunderous voice will sound in his head

"How can your mate be in my territory, Alpha Lucien" Douglas is still keeping his voice mild but cold though he was shocked hearing what Lucien said. How did he found out that Alexis is here... It's only mean one thing, Alexis left the pack into the forest and that made her scent to be perceivable but how was she able to leave the pack into the forest

He was on his way back home from where he went when he notices another presence not of vampire lurking around the vampire's boundary. He ask Jed and the other men to go ahead so he will go find out who the intruder is and it turns out to be Lucien, the most powerful lycan asking for his mate

"Her scent is what brought me here, but it varnished immediately I stepped at your boundary, where is my mate and what have you done to her... I am sure she is in your territory"

"I respect you a lot Alpha Lucien but I won't take it if you tries to level a false accusations on me, you said it yourself... the scent varnished so how can your mate be in my territory.... Please can you leave in peace because your mate is not in my Park besides am not the only one who wants to have your mate in my custody, people like the witches want her so badly... who knows she might be there" Douglas voice out

"You better be speaking the truth Douglas because if I finds out that my mate is with you, I promise you there will be war" Lucien made sure that his voice laced with all seriousness. Douglas smirk before speaking up

"There won't be any war Alpha Lucien because your mate is not here... I hope you believes me" Douglas cuts in

"How could you leave the park with her, I warned you not to do so Erin!' Douglas hollers, anger clear in his voice

Erin left the forest in a hurry with Alexis because she perceived the scent of lycans and she knew immediately that it is not a good sign

What if it ends up being the supreme Alpha, he will definitely shred her apart, she is with his mate and not only that, she can't allow him see Alexis because she is of importance to her master.

She piggyback Alexis cos she knows she will slow them down. She ran with the vampire super speed and in a twinkle of an eyes, they are already in the pack

She is not a match to Lucien, that's why she escaped on time before he sees her. the only vampire that can enter a fight with Lucien is Douglas

"Am sorry master, she pleaded with me. She hasn't been outside the park since she came here and she craves to do so

We just wanted to spend few minutes there, I never knew he will be in the forest" Erin mumble out her words making sure not to provoke the angry vampire the more

"You thought? can you hear yourself Erin? Is not like you don't know that Alexis is wanted by every creature and not only her mate wants her but you still took her into the forest

Lucien won't give up, he will definitely try to find out if his mate is with us or not... this is a big problem Erin!" Douglas snap

When he came back, he was so angry and much more angry when he learned that Erin was the one that took Alexis to the forest

Erin knows how important Alexis is to them but she still risk everything and took her to the forest where her scent can be easily noticed because the protection is not there

The protection Douglas placed at the boundary to vanquish her scent so that no body can trace her down to his pack

"Am sorry master"

"I never taught you to say sorry more than twice Erin rather for you to abstain yourself from anything that will demand the word sorry from you

What will your sorry do, it won't change anything. Lucien has only perceived her scent though it disappeared at the boundary but I know who Lucien is, he is a stubborn lycan and now his eyes will be on us" Douglas grime. Erin just keep her head bowed, she doesn't know what to say again, she hopes Douglas forgives her

"Leave" his voice is so cold, Erin hates it whenever he is angry with her. She stood there and couldn't find herself leaving as he orders

"I said you should leave Erin" his voice made her to flinch. She slightly bow her head before leaving

We left the forest in a hurry, Erin carried me home by piggybacking me. I wonder what danger she senses in the forest that made us leave that quick

She left a while ago after taking care of my wound. It is just a minor injury, she applied a medicine to it and said it will heal in no time

My door creak open and I thought it is Erin but got surprised seeing master Douglas. This is the second time he is entering my room after the first time one year ago

I tried standing from the bed to show my respect but he stopped me. "Don't stress yourself, remember you have a wound" I guess he noticed the small wound on my foot, he has a sharp sight

He walk up to me and sit on the chair beside my bed. I feel nervous at his closeness and I threw my eyes on my hands staring down at it

"How are you, does it hurt much?" he ask with a caring voice and I just shock my head as a sign of saying no... actually the would doesn't hurt that much

"Am glad it doesn't hurt much" he cuts in. I glance at him and retract my eyes almost immediately, does he care that much for me

Then silent erupted the room and that made me uncomfortable, I can feel his eyes on me and it made it worst. I don't need that silent at all but luckily he finally speaks up

"Do you know who killed your parent?" that question made me to glance at him. It is the witches of course, who else and I think I've told him about it before or haven't I

"Is the witches" I simply reply

"No it wasn't them" he said and i quickly stare up at him. I witnessed it, I am sure it was the witches. What does he mean that it was not the witches, if not them then who

"Keep an eye on Douglas... I have a feeling that he is hiding my mate. I just calm down because I am not sure about it but once I finds out that he is hiding her indeed, I will wreck havock in his pack" Lucien's voice is cold as ever

"Yes Alpha" Aidan, his Beta replied before walking out

"You know what your mate is" a voice sounded inside the quiet room after Aidan left

A woman walks through the other entrance in the room, her red long dress sweeps the floor as she walks, her red lips curves in a smirk

"She might not be in Douglas custody,a lot of people wants her anyways... Some wants her dead while some wants her alive for their own advantage.... someone like my sister might want both" she voiced out, her lips still in smirk

She flip her long black hair as she finally halt in front of the lycan who has no expression on his face.... no one can read his thought through his blank face

The woman is beauty herself, it is written all over her though her face is pale but it didn't hide her beauty

"I don't need those words from you now Selina, can you please leave me alone" Lucien grumble

"I will gladly leave you alone if you allow me to leave"

"You not going anywhere" Lucien cuts in

"Then allow me to be, I can say anything I want at anytime besides all my words are true and not false... she pause and squat in front of the sitting lycan

"Lucien, your mate is something else, a time will come when you can't control her nor even protect her... her fate is deep, deeper than you can think... do you still want her" her voice is low as if she is muttering those words out

"No matter what Selina, I will still want my mate so can you cease saying this same thing over and over again" he snap and Selina chuckle, Lucien knows that isn't geniue

"Then you will meet her but not now, there is still more time before you meet her... fate will definitely bring you both together, that's the only thing fate will do, the rest is in your hands" Selina said with smile on her lips

"I will be in my room now supreme Alpha Lucien, I feel so tired and I need to sleep" she add and flicker her lime green eyes. She held the same smirk as when she entered the room and also leave the room with it

Lucien close his eyes and took a deep breath before reopening it. There is a lot to know about his mate but he doesn't care to know. The little he knew didn't sit well with him and he doesn't want to know further

Whatever it is that the future holds, weather good or bad..... he will find out in the future and not In the presence. All he wants is to be with his mate
