“What?” I asked surprised and wanting to know why he was staring at me. “He was abusive?” He said softly, I wanted to ask him who was but I remembered, he was talking about his dad. “He got really mad because my mum wouldn’t sign the inheritance over to him, she signed them to me instead and asked that I took over when I turned 18.” He started explaining. “So must of the time he’d come either drunk or angry and he would hit her so much that she wouldn’t be able to move and I couldn’t do anything, I just watch.” He sighed. “He would send me to my room and lock me up, sometimes for days. I woke up feeling better than I’ve ever felt before, I felt confident and even more beautiful than I’ve ever felt. Yawning and stretching I turned to see Connor still asleep, peacefully. **CONNOR** I stopped walking and decided to go to Alannah and take her out for lunch today, I hadn’t told her anything , I just wanted to surprise her a little and she was. I got to her office and found Camilo was there already. Why was he there and what were they talking about? I looked over at Alannah to find her smiling and Camilo smiling back. Mad, I walked inside the office. “So where do you have in mind?” I heard Camilo ask Alannah and I immediately knew he was talking about taking her out to lunch. His presence alone annoys me and quite frankly, I have no idea why, maybe it was because he made Alannah smile, well I make her do more than smile I scoffed as I thought. **ALANNAH** It’s been a month since Uncle Eddie had called, I’d found a way to raise only 2million dollars and surprisingly my uncle had taken the money from me without much fuss. Adrian and Julia had gone on another vacation, a lot has happened this past weeks, then I remembered its also been a month and some days too since I’d reject Camilo. I still remember that day clearly and as usual he’d invited and took me out to dinner. “You look great, Alannah.” Camilo complimented. “Thank you. You too.” I said smiling and he took my hand and kissed it. It felt uncomfortable in a weird way. “Come.” Camilo said, inviting me to the table he’d reserved for both of us and pulled the chair out for me. “Thank you.” I’d said, sitting down and going through the menu. “Hey.” I heard Connor’s voice behind me, snapping me out of my memory lane. “Hey.” I said as I turned to kiss him. “What’s wrong? You Okay?” He asked looking worried and as usual stroking my hair. “Yes, I’m fine.” I answered. “I was just thinking.” I completed. “Oh Really? What about?” He asked before sitting down and pulling me to his lap too. “Everything. I miss Julia and Adrian too.” I said pouting like a little baby. “Should we go to them then?” He asked and my eyes lit up. “We can?” I asked in a squeal. “Yes. We can and in fact, we’re going.” He said before asking me to stand up, pulling out his phone from his pocket Connor walked out of his study and I could still hear his voice until they fade. I closed my eyes for a while to relax and my phone rang. I didn’t have to look at it to know who it was, it was my Uncle. **ALANNAH** Connor told me we would be leaving for Paris tomorrow, I tried really hard to show my excitement even though I was not really excited, I was scared, scared that my uncle will once again find us and this time he will hurt Connor. I didn’t want Connor in any kind of danger, I feel it’s kind of like my job to protect him now from the danger of my uncle and besides he shouldn’t be caught up in all of this mess. It’s my problem, I should definitely deal with it. I sighed before smiling and cuddling Connor even tighter, he pulled me in and as usual gave me a kiss. Closing my eyes I drifted to sleep. “Good Morning.” Connor said waking me up with a kiss. “It’s Morning?” I asked scratching my eyes like a little girl. “Damn right it is.” Connor answered smiling. “Uhmm, I don’t know what kind of clothes you would wanna pack, so I moved your whole closet in here.” He finished talking. “You did?” I said, getting up and picking out my clothes. “I’m done.”

Dinner went well as everyone was catching up on where we’d left off, forgetting about the attack or my uncle, everything seemed a little bit normal again. We finished eating and we all went to the sitting room and settled for a movie. Adrian and Julia excused themselves before we finished the movie but we stayed through it, when the movie ended we both decided we were going to bed. Connor and I got to our room, pulled off our clothes and had our baths together, we played like little kids laughing, remembering and sharing our funny moments together. We got out of our bath and laid on the bed. “You were about to say something before we had dinner?” He asked. “Oh. That’s nothing, it’s fine. Don’t worry.” I lied as I told him between fake smiles. “You’re sure?” He asked. “Yes, I am very sure.” I nodded before laughing at my attempt to be a child. He laid down and I laid on his chest, listening to the rhythm of his heartbeat and hearing him breath. I closed my eyes.
ALANNAH: HIS PROTECTOR CHAPTER THIRTY ONE: DAD?
**CONNOR** “Let’s go see what the girls are up to.” Adrian suggested, we’ve walked together for almost thirty minutes and we were already exhausted, neither of us liked the idea of the camping as the both of us agreed we’d rather stay home but, whatever the girls want, the girls get. I laughed at the thought. “Yeah, Okay.” I agreed and we both walked back to the house, what we’d seen at the entrance shocked us both. Coolers for the drink, a basket of fruit and other food items, bags etc. “uhh, What is going on here?” I asked looking at Adrian and he returned the stare, was also as surprised as I am. “We’re going camping soon, silly.” Julia said and I saw Alannah struggling with a bag, I moved to help her with it. “But, we didn’t think you girls would be ready so soon.” Adrian said, speaking my mind and I nodded in agreement. “Well, we are.
