*CONNOR*

It’s very lively on the ship. I had decided to blow off some steam. I wasn’t even supposed to be traveling on the ship, but, I didn’t want to travel by air, I wanted to travel alone because I didn’t want to be on the radar. I sighed after taking a shot and had noticed a girl staring at me from my corner.

Taking one glance at her before puffing my cigarette. I’d sworn not to look at her the second time but I could feel her gaze on me, almost like she was piercing through me with her eyes. I took another glance. This time, taking my time to suck in a few details. Her shirt was too white to ignore, yet rough. She'd knotted the edges of her shirt which left her navel naked. Her Jeans were short, barely covering half of her thighs. Her dark, brown hair looked a mess, covering her face slightly.

I knew I’d been staring for too long but I just couldn't help it. Lucky for me, She was staring right back too. She slowly readjusted the hair on her cheekbone and gave me a welcoming look as if to say; hi.

Just then, I turned to take another puff. One long final puff before putting out the cigarette and walking up to my mysterious admirer. ,

I turned towards her once more but couldn’t find her anymore, I was about looking away when I sighted a girl struggling between five hefty men, She was circled and appeared to be in trouble.

Shoveling my way through and eventually getting to where they are. My God, I’ve always hated bullies.

"You lying whore", one of the men snarled at her. "You promised to pay us once we get you on board" he added.

"Perhaps we should make you pay with other things" said another while the others growled and laughed.

"Step away from her” I said in my deep baritone. “And who are you?” One of the men asked.

The girl in distress had looked up to see who was coming to her aid and she seemed shocked. I saw this and only offered a slight Smirk.

“Someone who doesn’t like bullies” I replied, Staring at the one who’d asked about my identity.

"This doesn't concern you", said another with a husky voice.

Letting out a very sarcastic smile I said, "Anyone ever told you you sound exactly like your look"?

“Are you calling me fat?” The man sneered, as he dropped the girl's shoulder and took a step forward.

“I didn’t, you just did” I answered, Smiling sarcastically.

One of the gang was about pulling me, but I was done being sarcastic and not having it anymore, I had landed a really painful punch on his face, breaking his nose, before another thought of throwing a punch at me, I dodged and hit him on his back, knocking him out.

The girl could only stand and stare in awe. It all ended with me knocking the whole gang out.

I adjusted my Jacket as I turned to face the girl. "I hate bullies", I muttered.

“Thank you” she muttered back.

“Hmm mm” I said, walking away. I really wasn’t in the mood to talk much, it seemed like I had exhausted my talking bundles with the gang.

“Really, I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t come at the right time so, thank you again” The girl continued.

Sighing, I turned to give her a “you’re welcome". Then I noticed she was shivering, it wasn’t really cold, it’s probably from the shock, she hadn’t fully registered what had happened back there, I guessed.

“What’s your name?” She asked.

“Connor” I replied, pulling off my jacket. “Here, you’re shivering” I continued. Offering her my jacket.

“Thanks, but, I’m good. I don't accept things from people. Especially handsome men", she said.

I was almost taken aback. “That’s one way to call a guy “Handsome”” I thought. “Well, that's okay". I managed to say. "What's your name"?

She took a quick glance at me, hesitated then answered.

“I’m Alannah". She answered, Offering an handshake. “Okay, Alannah, do you mind if I-----"

"I'm sorry, I gotta go", she cut in. "Thanks again, bye". Before I could say anything else, she was gone.

I walked out, smoking and staring at the tide. I became really interested in the girl back there, there’s something I might’ve noticed about her, She seemed pretty shy and looked quite innocent. She doesn't seem like violent type so I couldn't really guess what got her in trouble with those five guys. She hadn't given me a chance to ask either.

Pulling out my phone to make a call. “Hello” the voice on the other end answered.

“Andre” I called. “I need you to do something for me, I want you to find out and tell me about one Alannah” I said

Andre is one of my workers and absolutely the only one I can trust with getting information and keeping tabs on this girl.

“There are millions of Alannah in the whole world, anything significant about her? A description at least?” Andre asked.

“Uhm, Brunette, not so tall, like a Five foot six, freckles. Will that help?” I answered.

“It should, I’m working on it right now, I’ll call you back when I get something” Andre replied.

“Okay” I said and hung up.

Walking back in, halfway through the hall, walking down where my room is supposed to be, I could’ve sworn I heard slight sobs. I was going to find out where it was coming from, after all, I’ve been having trouble sleeping and going back inside my room would mean hours and hours of tossing and turning, I thought to myself. Walking down, tracing where the sobs were coming from, I got to a door, a very small door and had managed to open it without making any sound at all, I peeked and saw a figure, sitting with its heads down and sobbing, I sought to scan the room and a white substance scattered on the table caught my gaze, those are drugs, I said to myself and just when I wanted to go in and maybe talk to it, my phone rang. “Ring ring ring” came from the phone. “Shit” I muttered. Closing the door and walking as fast as my legs could carry me back to my room.

“Andre?” I called, answering the call. “I got all the information you need, Boss” Andre said.

“Okay, Share” I replied, setting the phone on speaker and pulling my clothes off.

How was I going to question her? I was thinking as I worked through the paper works in front of me, Damn it! I wasn’t concentrating. I need to get some sleep, I thought as I walked out of my study and make my way to my bedroom, sleep isn’t something that comes easy to me, and tonight, I know, is going to be one of those nights. I laid down but, I couldn’t sleep, tossing and turning on my bed. “Ugh, God” I groaned in frustration. Picked up my phone and punched in a contact. “Good Evening, Mr. Connor” the female voice at the other end of the phone had greeted. “Evening, Ava, I want you in my apartment in five" I said in my extremely dominating and intimidating tone. “Yes Sir” Ava answered from the other end of the call obviously terrified of me. Ava is a 22 years old lady being just

“Good Morning, Miss” A delighted Lisa said in a singsong way. She must be a Morning Person, I thought to myself as Lisa proceeded to open up the curtains. “Gosh, close the curtains, Lisa. It’s too bright” I said, squinting and still not fully awake. “Okay, I’ll close it” Lisa said. Drawing back the curtains. “Good Morning, Lisa.” I managed to mutter still sleepy, getting up, forcing my eye to open and running my fingers through my messy hair as though I’m scratching it. “My God, you are a mess” Lisa said. “An hot mess? Thank You” I laughed. “Why are you here though?” I asked Lisa, Yawning. “Well, breakfast is ready and Nanny McPhee demanded I fetch you” Lisa answered. “You had better go get yourself ready” Lisa continued, tugging at the edge of the sheet. “I will, where is Connor?” I asked and rolled my eyes at the memory of our outburst the previous night. “Downstairs, in the dining room” Lisa answered me, sort of confused as to why I asked. “Oh” I mouthed, spitting out the p

It had seemed too fast, really fast, here I am getting a job offer! A real job offer, a decent job. I couldn’t believe it, I had to ask again. “What do you mean?” I asked. “I want you to come work for my company, as the financial manager.” Connor confirmed. “Oh My God, Thank You. Yes, I’d love to.” I shrieked. I love it and would love to start working as soon as possible as numbers are my most favorite things in the world. I have never really met anyone who loved numbers as much as I do, they’re basically my best friend. Although, I don’t really like the fact that Connor would be my boss, but, that doesn’t matter, working would mean being on a professional level and I will not always have to see him. “I’ve always loved numbers, anything that has to do with calculating and balancing, count me in. Thank you!” I finally finished, still shrieking. “Good, You will resume tomorrow. 8:00am, you must be punctual as there would be penalties for getting to wor

I had just made a new discovery. How didn’t I know? Connor’s last name is Ace? He is really that powerful? I should’ve known from the influence he’d used in getting me out of cell, the house, the cars, the maids. I was expecting him to be filthy rich, but really, this had exceeded my whole expectations. I’d been rude to the multi billionaire, Connor Ace is the world youngest billionaire and the most eligible bachelor, I’ve heard about him multiple times, but I didn’t get to see a picture of him. It all started making a lot of sense. I was already lost in my deep thought until the voice of the attendant jerked me back to reality. “Try these on, Miss” She said, handing me a pile of female suits and gowns. “That is the dressing room, you can call for my attention when needed” She continued, pointing towards the dressing room. “Okay, Thank You. Lisa, follow me” I said, giving Lisa little to no time to protest before dragging her in with me. “So, Connor owns ACE?” I asked

I’d scrolled through my call logs before finally getting to Alannah’s number and I clicked on it. Ring ring came the sound at the other end of the call before it finally connected. “Hello” Alannah had said in her sleepy voice, sounding tired. “Hello” I said. “It’s Connor.” I continued introducing myself like she had no idea I was the one on the call” “were you sleeping?” I asked. Of course she was, what kind of question was that and why did I even call her in the first place, I thought to myself. “Yes, Mr. Connor, the shopping was exhausting and I just thought to take a nap” Alannah replied. “Oh.” I said, did she just refer to me as Mr. Connor? Alannah had just called me by my name with an hint of respect, I initially thought she was being sarcastic, but there was no hint

It had been a long day for Connor. The meeting was even more stressful than he’d imagined. Everyone pitching their ideas and him having to concentrate, one thing he really wasn’t doing. Immediately the last minute was taken, Connor was grateful, it had almost been like he was in hell and for some reasons he couldn’t wait to be home, he convinced himself he only needed a bit of rest, pinching the bridge of his nose, Connor sighed and subtly walked away. “My office is a mess, get it all cleaned up” he said to the lady at the front desk while walking out. He got into the car and signaled to the driver to drive, “Are we going to the mansion, Sir?” the driver had asked as it was too early and it’s quite unusual of Connor to get back to the house this early, he would usually go to a bar and stop for a drink or two and call one of his girls over, somehow, Connor liked the idea of having that much girls, they respected him, feared him a lot and he loved the feeling he gets by be

But, he’s asleep now, I suggest you get him something to eat and let him rest before getting to see him.” The doctor said, leaving us alone as we said our thanks.“He’s Fine!” Julia screamed, jumping on me and all smiles.“Yes, Yes He is.” I laughed too and after some time of celebration, we all made our way to go freshen up and make some food for Adrian when we get home.“You need to take a rest.” I said to Alannah and she smiled, hugging and holding me tight.“I’m just

He was still so strong because he immediately rolled over and was on his feet in no time.“No fucking time pass by that I don’t remember how you killed her.” I let my anger surge through me as I dashed to where he was, he spun around quickly not letting me get to him.“She killed herself.” He answ

I opened my eyes in a dark room with a fuzzy head. My head and ears ringing, I tried so hard to remember what had happened but the more I tried, the more my head ached. “Where am I?” I asked myself as I tried to stand up and it was then I realized I was tied to a chair with my hands behind my back, my legs tied up too and my mouth duct taped. I groaned.“The more you try, the more painful it becomes.” I heard a familiar voice say, I strained my eyes to look properly and I saw Steve, Connors dad. I struggled more on the chair and tried to say something that only came out in a muffle as my mouth was taped already, he lifted his hands up and a man, My Uncle, came closer to remove the tape from my mouth, I spat and inhaled.“What do you want?” I said.“You know what I want. Connor does too.” He answered. “You just tell him to step down and everyone is fucking happy. The doorbell rang and one of the maids had gone to answer it.“Connor! My man!” Adrian called as he made his way to us.
