Giselle's POV
At Night.
The house was eerily silent as usual. I was the only one in this whole mansion, though the maids and bodyguards are around. But it still lacked the happy vibe I was yearning for.
I was seated in the dining room, just done with my dinner but I was still seated, lost in my thoughts.
The chocolate that was given to me by Bryan was beside my plate. I wanna shake off what my instincts have been telling me about him.
'Does he like me?’ I thought.
It's quite unusual for a student to always act clingy around his female lecturer. I have been trying to avoid him for the past few days, but my softer side got the best of me.
I noticed that he was in a daze when I was lecturing, earlier this morning. I only wanted to know what was wrong with him, and I was amazed by the way he answered my question.
He looked confident and I liked that. I didn't know that asking him a question and complimenting him with the way he answered my question would prompt chocolate out of the little interaction.
I have to avoid him. That will be the very best, not even when I am married and he is my student. I picked up the chocolate and tore the wrapper.
I cut out a small size and put it into my mouth. It was yummy as always. I stood up and the maid, who had been waiting for me to finish, picked up my plates and wished me a good night's rest.
I nodded in response and went up to my room. I was almost done with the chocolate and I was somehow yearning for more.
After I was done eating it, I went to the bathroom and bathroom to brush my teeth. I laid on the bed when I was done, something was ringing in my mind.
I have to avoid them.
The Next Few Days.
I succeeded in avoiding him for the past few days and I am sure that he had noticed it. I was happy that he didn't push his luck too much.
That would have been awkward for the both of us. Presently, I was heading to his class for a morning lecture. I was greeted immediately as I stepped foot into his class.
I was surprised that he wasn't on his regular seat. I looked around for him but he wasn't around. I smiled reassuringly to the class, to cover up for my stupefied expression.
“Morning class,” I greeted them and they responded.
I sighted the girl that I have always been seeing around Bryan, she was glaring at me before changing it into a stiff smile.
I didn't bother with her and went on with the class. I tried to calm my racing heart, different thoughts were running through my mind. I can't deny it, I was really worried about him.
“Uhm, today's class will be on….” My voice trailed off as I skimmed through my lesson notes.
“... Sustainable Energy Solutions In Transportation Engineering,” I said to them and they brought out their notebooks.
“The topic explores strategies and technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting energy efficiency within transportation systems. This includes….” I was interrupted when Bryan badged into my class.
“Good morning, Mrs. Albert,” he greeted me flatly and a knot tied up in my stomach. He walked to his seat and sat down on it, pulling out his phone.
“I didn't ask you to sit, Mr. Lopez. Last I checked, whenever a student was late for a class. S/he will have to stay at the door until I permit s/he to enter the class,” I scolded in a raised voice.
“I'm sorry,” his apology sounded dry and rude.
The class was murmuring at what was happening. I clenched my fist and swallowed my words.
“I will let this slide, only because you haven't done this before,” I said and I was shocked that he wasn't behaving as if I was talking to him.
“Mr. Lopez!” I screamed out loud, I was pissed off at his rudeness.
“Yes ma'am,” he answered with a lower tone and innocent face.
We both held our gaze for a few seconds before I looked away.
“If you aren't ready for this class. Just leave now, I won't tolerate…” he interrupted me.
“Yes, ma'am. I hear you,” he said dismissively and that was making me feel uneasy.
'What is wrong with him?’ I thought.
I sighed and faced the class, “All right class. I am sorry about the rude interruption. Can we carry on?” I asked and they all gave their response.
“Good. So, open to chapter five of your manual,” they all followed my instructions and my eyes kept darting at Bryan's direction.
He was pressing his phone without a care in the world. This got me distracted and I had to look away from him.
“As I had said earlier, it's about exploring…” I was interrupted by the creak sound of a chair.
The sound was coming from Bryan, he hastily packed his things and was about to walk out of the class.
'What in the hell is wrong with him?!’
“Mr. Lopez! What's the meaning of this?! I am starting to see that you are doing this intentionally. If you understand this topic already, there is no reason for you to come to class and distract others,” I snapped at him with a glare.
“Yes, ma'am,” he acted innocent and nodded his head. He was about to leave the class when I stopped him.
“See me in my office after this class,” I told him and I missed the mischievous grin that played on his lips before he walked out of the class.
I recalled what he said to me some weeks ago, when he was oozing out in my class. I guess this is also part of the personal stuff he was talking about.
He wasn't like this before. He has been one of my active students in class. I was feeling myself anymore so I rounded up the class with an excuse of having an important business to deal with.
I left the class and went to my office. I placed my head on the desk and heaved a deep sigh.
'Why is he distracting me?’ I thought, different thoughts were running through my mind.
I waited for him for more than two hours but he didn't show up. It was getting up to four hours and I was getting really anxious.
Soon, I heard a knock on my door. Thinking that it must be some of the random lecturers that have been disturbing me, I permitted the person to enter.
“Come in,” I was packing my books to pretend as if I was heading to a class.
The familiar cologne hitted my nose and I looked up to see Bryan, he was in another outfit and this got me really worried.
“Good afternoon, ma'am,” he greeted with a stiff smile.
“Hi, you changed your clothes?” It was a question and I nodded.
“Oh, please sit,” I gestured my hand to the chair in front of me. He thanked me before sitting on it.
“Is something wrong with you?” I asked and a frown lines formed on his forehead. I realized that I didn't structure my words well.
“I mean, is there something that is distracting you? Like family, girlfriend, personal stuff… anything,” I listed out.
“Uhmm, yeah. I don't have a girlfriend, I am single,” he responded and my eyes widened.
“You are single? Why did I find it hard to believe?” I asked, trying to lighten up the air.
“Yeah, people don't believe me if I tell them though. I guess you ain't excluded,” he explained and I felt embarrassed.
“Oh, I'm sorry about that. So tell me, is there something bothering you?” I asked and he nodded.
“You,” he pointed at me and my mouth went agape.
“Huh?” That was the sound that came out of my mouth.
He chuckled slightly, “I was just kidding,” he said and I heaved a sigh of relief.
“You got me,” I smiled and he returned it.
“Actually, it's some personal stuff like you have guessed,”
“Personal stuff that you can't say?” I asked and he nodded.
“Everyone has one or two things that are bothering them. I also have some personal stuff that is making me worry a lot,” I said, having my mother-in-law in mind.
And my husband's behavior whenever she was insulting me, he will always be mute and doesn't stop his Mum at all.
“Really?” He asked and I nodded.
“Yeah, but I don't let that wgt through me. I carry on with my life,”
“It depends on the gravity of what you are bothering about,” he explained and I was tongue-tied.
“Maybe. Are you hungry? I have some to share,” I offered.
“I am sorry, ma'am. But I will have to decline,” he rejected politely but I was still disappointed.
“Oh, that's cool then,” I said in a sad tone, thinking that he would notice that and apologize. But it never happened.
I noticed that his hair wasn't looking well packed like normal. He has a black curly hair that seems to sparkle under the sunlight. But now, it looks rough and unkempt.
He kind of looked lean as well and my concern grew tenfold. I didn't know what to say and he didn't look like someone that was ready to speak unless he was being asked a question.
“I can see that whatever that is making you sad is taking a toll on you already,” I commented after a long silence.
“Do you live with your parents?” I asked and he shook his head.
“Huh? You stay alone? How old are you?” I asked, eagerness was laced in my voice.
“I am 19,” he responded. I am 8 years older than him.
“Aren't you too young to stay alone?”
“I love my privacy,”
“Hmm, I like the sound of that,” I said with amusement.
“I know a bit of psychology. Will you be free for counseling after school? How to manage your personal issues without it affecting your daily activities,” I asked and admiration shone in his eyes.
“Ma'am, a-are you being serious right now?” He stuttered and I chuckled.
“Yes, I am Mr. Lopez. It's a way of helping my ‘favorite student',” I quoted the words in the air.
“Wow, thank you so much. I would really appreciate….” His voice trailed off and his smiling face disappeared.
“A-And what is it?” I asked him warily.
“Am I your student you will be counseling? A guy to be precise?” He asked me and I knew what he meant by that.
“I have done that to many students from the school I came from. But you are the first student in this school,” I explained and he nodded before smiling.
“I am honored,” he said with gratitude.
“It's fine,” we concluded and he stood up to leave my office. He paused when he got to the door, I smiled when his gaze met mine.
“Can I get a hug please?” He asked me politely and I was flushed at his words. I stood up from my seat and went to hug him.
“Thanks ma'am. It means a lot to me,” his deep voice pierced into my ear and I felt my heart flutter in my chest.
Bryan's POV. The fact that she said I was too young to live alone baffles me, that seems like I was rejected without even confessing, but I don't care. I knew if I tried my luck she might forget our age difference, and see me as a man. 'I won't back down without a fight, it's worth trying' I thought, smiling. “I am honored,” I said with a smile. “It's fine,” She said, and we concluded. I stood up to leave her office, but I halted my steps when I got to the door and turned around, my gaze met hers and she smiled lightly. “Can I get a hug please?” I requested politely, trying my luck. I thought she would say no, but I was surprised when she stood up from her seat and embraced me. I felt like my heart skipped for a while, and my heart raced abnormally, her hair shampoo misty smell hit my nose, which made me feel more attracted to that soul, her slender fingers brushed through my back, and I sniffed the sweet smell coming from her body which was more like jasmine, not to talk of how
Bryan's POV. I left the hall and made my way to Mrs Albert's office, “knock knock” I waited for a reply. “Come in,” I heard her fragile voice which made my heart jump in excitement. I twisted the door knob and went inside, and I saw her packing books like she was ending out for a lecture, and I felt disappointed. “Mrs Albert, good afternoon,” I said, and she checked her wristwatch. “It's just 11:45 Mr. Lopez, it's still morning,” she said and smiled, ‘oh my gosh, she looks so cute with that smile' I screamed in my head. “My bad,” I shyly said. “It's okay, I was just joking,” she said, and I nodded. “I know right,” I said. “I know you are here for the counseling, but I'm sorry, I need to go to class now, I have lectures to deliver, so let's make it after lunch,” she said. “I thought as much, I also have classes to attend, so after lunch is great,” I said with excitement. “Okay, we have a deal,” she said and packed her lecturing materials, “let me help you, ma'am,” I said. “No
Bryan's POV.She sat on her office chair with her eyes closed, and she rested her head backwards, her hair fell behind her back revealing her neckline, her eyebrows were so full, and her eyelashes we resting on her lid, it was so flawless to her nose bridge, and her heart shape lips was consumed by the cherry lip gloss she was wearing.“Stress,” she muttered, making her lips spread open a little, and I swallowed hard seeing such a beautiful sight, ‘how will it feel to have this beautiful face wake up beside me every day' I thought.I really want to hold her and give her a comforting kiss and a hug to relieve her stress.I started imagining myself doing things with her in my head, and I really wanted to make it happen. I walked close to her chair and looked at her closely. She was such an angel. But I jerked up from my daydreaming when she suddenly opened her eyes, and I was so close to her chair, that she jolted from her chair and cast a questioning look, but I gestured with my hands
Giselle's POV.“No ma'am, that will make me feel bad,” he said with a worried gaze, and I could sense what he was trying to do, but I decided to ignore it, I couldn't afford to fall into his traps.“Okay then,” I said, and I didn't miss the sign of relief on his face. I checked the food, and it was from the new restaurant, it was the most expensive restaurant in the school area.“It's the new restaurant,” I said, and he smiled with confidence, but I don't know why I sensed that.“It must be expensive,” he said, and I nodded with a smile. “I heard their food is amazing, and the taste earlier was great so they deserve the hype,” he said, trying to convince me, but what he did scared the hell out of me, I thought he was really hurt, I was never that worried about someone before, ‘why is he different?’ I thought. So I decided to taste the food, and the taste was so great, I was convinced that with just one bite, the restaurant was great.“You haven't tasted it before?” I asked.“I did tod
Chapter 9 Giselle's POV. “Hmmm .... so you will come back after lunch tomorrow?” I asked after I jolted out of my thoughts. “Yeah, I'm sorry that I'm disturbing you,” he said, and I shook my head, “no don't say that, you are my student anyway, your welfare matters a lot to me,” I said, and he nodded. Then he gazes at me weirdly, but I ignored it and smiled at him trying to set the lecturer and student boundaries. “Okay then,” I said dismissively, but he was taking the hint he was still sitting down. “Mr Lopez, I have some other things to do,” I said, making it clear that I wanted him to leave. “Okay ma'am,” he said, and stood up from the chair, “I will go now, Mrs Albert,” he said, and I nodded. Then he left my office. I felt relieved after he left. I felt suffocated being in the same space with him, not in a negative way, but he just won't stop staring at me, and it was uncomfortable. And when I was still happy about the freedom I have, I heard a knock on my door, “c
Giselle’s POV.‘'Who the hell is this boy?’ I thought. And stared at him, with a curious gaze, and he winked at me nonchalantly, and I immediately looked away from him.The person apologized throughout to him, and the car was moved out of the space, and I was amazed by the way he handled it, and the influence he had for the guy to feel that intimidated.“Bryan, I'm so sorry, it won't happen again,” the guy apologized again.“It's okay, you should apologize to her, not me, it's Mrs Albert parking space,” he said, pointing at me.“Oh, Mrs Albert, I'm sorry, I just wanted to go in real quick and I used your space, it won't happen again,” the guy pleaded, and I nodded.“It's okay,” I said. And the guy zoomed out, I got into my car and parked in my spot. After that I took my laptop and my bags, with some lecturing materials, and I got down from the car. I got uncomfortable knowing Bryan was waiting for me outside the car, but I couldn't find a way to avoid him.“Thank you Mr Lopez, I real
Bryan's POV.I was coming from the parking lot and I ran into My lovely Giselle and I saw she was struggling with her car parking space, and I noticed how helpless she was so I decided to step in. I was willing to use anything to steal her heart. I wanted her to be mine.Since she was the one that told me to make decisions that will make me happy and I was willing to take the risk to have my happiness, and that was her, she was my happiness, no matter how much she was offered in the marriage, I was willing to give her more.Seeing her pretty face in distress made my heart ache and she looked so stressed out without doing anything yet, I wondered what happened, ‘she wasn't like that before’, I thought . And I walked towards her direction.Good morning Mrs Albert,” I said, and she immediately turned around, she wasn't surprised that it was me, I guess my voice is that known by her.“Good morning Mr Lopez,” she said, but her face was stressed.“Is there a problem I can help with?” I aske
Bryan's POV.I hurriedly took the meal kit and dashed out of my lecture hall, but on my way out I bumped into someone.“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to___” I was apologizing, but paused after seeing the person I bumped into face, it was my greatest nightmare bumping into her will only cause me stress.“I'm sorry Ivy,” I said, and turned to leave, but I halted my steps after hearing my name being called out, “Bryan,” Ivy called, and I turned around. “What is it?” I asked bluntly, and she was giving a sad look, which I did not care about, she can be pretentious at times.“Please, can we talk?” She asked pitifully, and I checked my wrist watch knowing I did not have time for her act, “say whatever you want to say now,” I said hurriedly.“Can we go somewhere else and talk?” she asked, and I checked the time. It was almost time for her lecture, so I had no time left .“Hmmmmmmmm…. Ivy, I really don't have time for this. What about later after the lecture? It can wait right?” I suggested.“No,
Giselle's POV.I went through hell holding the pain, but I didn't plan on losing the baby. Two days later,“I am sorry, I didn't tell you about Ivy,” he said apologetically. I smiled faintly looking at him. “I didn't know she would be that extreme,” he said, but then I remembered that he came to the scene without being called by Ivy.“How did you know where I was?” I asked with my brows knitted. He stopped talking for a moment before he cleared his throat. “Your anklet,” he pointed to my leg. “What?” I chuckled. “I had a bad feeling and you don't like the idea of bodyguards that was why I installed a tracking device on it,” he explained.I remembered how he made sure I wore the anklet when going out. He got it for me on the day he got me an engagement ring. I didn't realize he was trying to protect me all that time.I smiled at him, I was so happy that he was consistent with his character and he didn't change. “I got there late I am sorry, I should have noticed earlier,” his eyeba
Bad Feeling.Bryan's POV.At the hospital,We got to the hospital emergency room, and she was already receiving treatment. She lost a lot of blood and I was so scared seeing how the treatment took a lot of time.“Who is she to you, Mr Lopez?” The doctor asked. “She's my fiance,” I said with a trembling voice, I knew no good came out of that question. The doctor became silent. “What's wrong, say something doctor!” I panicked.“She inhales a lot of smoke, and she bled too much, the fetus is at risk, and it is dangerous for her health so we might consider an abortion to make her safe,” he said.My jaw dropped hearing that I knew how much Giselle wanted a baby, but knowing I was the cause of all the circumstances I felt horrible.“Is there no other way?” I asked. “There is, but the patient's life will be at risk; she might not make it,” the doctor said.I shook my head unconsciously. “I don't want to lose her,” “Wh____ Dr. Niel!” I wanted to talk, but I was interrupted by a nurse coming
Giselle's POV.I was supposed to be at the civil affairs bureau to divorce Donald, but I woke up and met myself at a strange place, and a strange position.I was startled to death when I realized that I was kidnapped. The girl I always see around Bryan was sitting in front of me with a proud face, and an evil smirk.I didn't know what to do. I couldn't run, or struggle. I was tied down on the chair and couldn't move an inch.I didn't know Where I was or how I got there. All I knew was that someone asked for my help and that made me land in an unknown room tied down to a chair.I looked around and I noticed we weren't at the city judging with the sounds. 'She is crazy!’ I didn't know someone was crazy for Bryan, he never mentioned anything about his ex lovers before and that caught me off guard. She was busy explaining how She and Bryan were lovers and claiming that they were still in love.I knew Bryan would never do such a thing to me, and not when I actually know him.I got tired,
Ivy's POV.I was shocked to hear about Bryan's proposal to the young lecturer. I knew Bryan's determination can't be altered even by his parents so I didn't plan to approach his mother again since it would not work.I started thinking of a way to stop their engagement or whatever they were planning to do. “What can stop a wedding from happening?” I asked my maid unconsciously.“If the bride decided to show up or the groom, no wedding was held without the couples,” she said, and that rang a bell. 'No wedding holds without the bride' I repeated the words in my head.“What?” I smiled cunningly. “I am sorry, ma'am,” she apologized for absolutely nothing. “This is the first time I will be finding your presence useful, good job,” I said.I decipher the solution to the problem without stress. “Thank you ma'am,” she smiled, and made me feel irritated. “Get out of my sight!” I fired. She scurried out of my room. I hissed irritatedly thinking of a way to execute the plan, but then I remembered
Bryans pov I left the mansion and went to a jewelry store. “Good morning sir,” the manager said to me. I went inside and I saw many choices but I saw a particular diamond ring that was eye-catching. “I want that one,” I chose. I left the mall, and then I decided to go out with the boys because he needed it. I picked up my phone and dialed Kevin's number. He picked up after some time. “Hello,” I said, and I expected Kevin to talk from the other end, but he didn't. “Are you okay?” I asked worriedly. “I am fine,” he said with a weak voice from the other end. “What's wrong with you?” I asked, but then I remembered that such questions didn't benefit such communication methods. “Let's meet up,” I said. “Okay, our bar,” he said from the other end. I ended the call and called Sebastian. “Hey buddy,” he said from the other end. “Hi,” I said. “What's up?”! His voice was low and uncheerful. “How are you?” I asked. “I am feeling great.,” He said, but he didn't sound alright.
Giselle's POV.I was preparing to leave the hospital and Bryan's parents were still around. Bryan's mother was still looking at me with her deadly glare.I looked away trying my best not to make her angry. I saw Bryan with his father, and I noticed something was suspicious with their behavior, but I ignored it. Took my phone, and I felt disappointed. My parents were never supportive, and I knew that, but that was different.I felt ignored and belittled. My parents were very greedy and selfish. I wished they could realize that I was their daughter too.I foolishly thought I loved Donald and made the sacrifice for my dad, but she later abandoned me after getting me into a business.Even my mother was never there for me. I thought Donald's mother's evil treatment was normal at first since I didn't have the experience of a mother's love.I wanted to have time with my parents and laugh with them, but that could never happen because of the company affairs.I dropped my phone and shrugged
Bryan's POV.“What are you doing here again?” I yelled at Donald who was busy standing by the door. “Calm down Bryan,” Giselle pleaded with me. I nodded at her reassuring her that I wouldn't go out of line even though they did.“Giselle!” Donald exclaimed. “Don't you dare call babe with your filthy mouth again!” I roared. “What are you Looking for?” I said.“I am here to speak with my wife,” he said, trying to get under my skin, and it worked because I was ready to hit his face, but I was calm thanks to Giselle.“Donald you signed the divorce paper some days ago I am no longer your wife,” she said. “But the court hasn't notarized it yet,” he said, and I hissed frustratedly.“Donald get out of here,” she said, getting angry, only his name gave me a headache.“Well if you know what is best for you, you will cancel the divorce,” he said, and I couldn't help but scoff at his words. “And why is that?” she sneered at him.“Your father's business is hanging, and his family is not ready to
Giselle's POV.His parents were shocked by the news and they left angrily. I couldn't believe my ears…'Game companies?’ I mulled it over in my head. I wondered how he started because he was still young and naive. He must be a genius, I thought, but I was angry that he hid such important information from me.But then the day he confessed his feelings for me, he took me to a game competition, and I noticed he was respected by the workers, but I could never imagine that he owned something that huge.I stared at him blankly. I didn't know if I should get angry or just cheer him up, we were both in a situation that needed to be close, but I couldn't help it. I was distant from him, and that made me sad.I hated the fact that he hid something that huge from people including me. I didn't expect much from him. I was more dumbfounded when I found out about his mother.I went to the company before, and he still dared to pretend. He made a fool out of me, and nobody ever hinted to me about my
Ivy's POV.I heard the news about what happened at Lopez's ancestral mansion. It wasn't on the news but I had my ways.I decided to play a sympathetic role and wanted to visit the young lecturer at the hospital to mock her.I was so happy that she got sick, I knew that would be a great opportunity to get close to Bryan.I promised myself to use the time wisely. I texted Henry to get himself prepared because I wanted to celebrate my new achievement with him. I missed his touch so much. I set out and drove out of the parking lot. I drove to the hospital using the GPS.I got to the hospital and I had difficulty in looking for the ward, but then I saw Bryan's mother walking angrily towards the ward. I ran after her. “Good morning, ma'am,” I greeted politely. “What are you doing here?” She asked. “I-I…came here to collect my father's medical report,” I said, giving her a questioning look as well. “I can't hide from you since you gave me the tip,” she said. “Follow me if you have time,
