Chapter 39; Consolation

“Please stop the car," Page told the driver.

Right across the road was a Bugatti Veyron with Rowan seated at its tip, his right leg crossed over the left on the floor. What could be the problem, she thought. It was already nine –at night– and the vast road was being illuminated by various street lamps.

“I would alight here, thank you," she said to him and with her bag and file in her hand, got down from the cab.

She looked to her left and then, her right before carefully running across the road in her heels. Rowan's right hand covered his face so Page couldn't see it.

“Rowan," she softly called when she was directly in front of him.

In unexpressed shock, he took his hand off his face when he heard that already recognized sweet voice and saw Page.

"What are you doing here?” She asked him.

"I could ask you the same," he retorted, innocently.

"I was at my Uncle's in the evening and was on my way home in a cab when I saw you,” she explained.

"Your Uncle, John?”

"Yes. I do not have any
