Page received a call from Katherine. She informed Page that she had to be at work before ten that morning because she had an urgent and important meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of The Executives Conglomerate, Mr Simon who wanted to transfer ownership of two of their corporations, their massive hotel and resort to them because they were no longer doing well and seemed not to have any other option neither did they have adequate resources to revive them, it being evident that Greenclove Conglomerate would do justice to the re-establishment of the two corporations as their Conglomerate had been consecutively established as part of the top two leading the market for over ten years.

Their massive and unwavering success was impressive as no Conglomerate could beat them under Mr Duncan Brooks leadership and he was certain it wouldn't change under Page's as her mode of thinking and decision making were a replica of her grandad's who had become the Greenclove Conglomerate Chairman a

“Should I get you a cup of latte?”Page turned on her heels behind the large mahogany desk in her new office, the office of the Chief Executive Officer. The door of her office bore her scrupulously made nameplate. The walls of the office were coated in thick, quality white paints that beautifully radiated under the shimmer of the brilliant light that dispersed in the office from the bulbs on the ceiling, perfectly making evident the taste of its occupant. Color rose to her checks when she smiled, that her grandad remembers her tastes and preferences always marveled her. “You impress me,” Page told her with a smile and fell into her black swivel chair that most apparently suited a queen like her, a lady of her caliber.“I would not be drinking coffee this morning, probably later in the afternoon. For now, continue whatever work you still have on your plate until Mr Simon arrives,” she said. Katherine, her personal assistant, was characterized with outstanding, juicy qualities, insurm

Page fell to the floor, her hands clutching her stomach. The pain was too much to bear. She kept groaning in pain, trying so much to combat the excruciating pain but it wasn't in her power. Katherine screamed and bent to the ground, turning Page who laid on her side to lay on her back. Tears pricked the corners of her eyes, they stung and her throbbing, squeezing heart banged and hurt so much."Oh my God, Miss Brooks!" Katherine shouted. "Call an ambulance," she had instructed Page's chauffeur, cooing her to soothe the pains. She knelt on the ground and placed Page's upper back on her laps. Her hands set to work, one caressing her soft, silky hair and the other, pressing against her wound."One will be here in a bit," he informed her. "Take off her jacket so that she is only on her shirt, gently blow air on her face," Page's chauffeur, a man in his mid-forties instructed Katherine. She gently took the jacket off her boss and it was swiftly grasped from her hold. He folded the ja

Page was driving home, exhausted from a rather hectic day and longing for a relaxing, satisfactory dip in strawberry and rose scented bubbling body wash infused in warm water. Yearning for the evening's cool breeze to dance through her bouncy, long black hair, she turned off the car's air conditioner and pressed a button that made the roof of the car open. “This feels really good," she sighed. Her mind traveled back to the horrible trance she had and she shivered. For the record, she had always been an optimistic person, one with the stoutest of heart and detested every form of negativity, bad energy and contrariness. That her mind could picture such a horrible event scared her, she was appalled. Thinking back to it, she decided to assume that what played out in her mind actually happened, why the hell did someone not go after such a malevolent perpetrator? She asked herself.Refusing to let the threat Simon made get to her, she turned on some music and sang along with the artiste,

“Babe, I think the food is burning!" Derek shouted as he stood in front of the cooker, filling his nostrils with the aroma of his girlfriend's savory dish. He felt as though he could already taste the delectable meal without having to take a spoon of it. “Take it down!" Lina turned away from the phone and instructed.“Where did you keep the mittens?” “Oh my good God," she sighed, blowing air out of her mouth."Page baby, we will talk later okay? I have to finalize my cooking and serve Derek, he hasn't had lunch or dinner,” she said to Page reluctantly, sad that she had to put their interesting conversation on hold.“Can he not help himself to it?" Page grumbled.“You know he can't. To take down the pot of food from the cooker is a problem for him, talk more of actually serving himself,” she fielded then chuckled lightly.“Ok then, we would take later babe," Page said and proceeded to end the call.Rowan was already seated on the couch opposite the one on which Page was seated. Rowan yawned, using the back of his hand to cover his mouth. Fatigue was written all over him in black ink that anyone who painstakingly looked at him could notice. He took a sip from his cup of Americano coffee and sighed, leaning back on his large comfy swivel chair so that his head and back were placed on it and his eyes were closed as he rested for a while. Not being able to sleep the previous night, annoyed that he hadn't heard Page's footsteps that was to signify her call had ended and she was heading to her room to go to bed, he opted to go through some documents in his laptop. He had kept himself occupied throughout the night, reviewing documents upon documents. During the early hours of the morning, he fell asleep on the sofa on which he sat, assuming a weird position. Apparently, that was the reason behind his aching neck.A knock sounded on his door. He was reluctant to move his mouth and body so he feigned deafness. The knock sounded again but he still didn't say anything

Rowan staggered into the house with his jacket in his hand. He had called his personal assistant to the bar to drive him home. He walked up the stairs and sat on the floor in front of Page's door with the foot of one of his legs placed on the floor, his head leaning on the door. The lady that had sat on his lap in the bar had hoped to draw his attention by trying to touch him but he violently pushed her off his lap the moment she gyrated her hips. Rowan's foxy and dreamy body coupled with his excessive wealth made ladies go extremely crazy over him, jumping at every opportunity to show off their assets to him as though they were products being advertised, with hopes that they would impress him. Rowan was someone who knew how to hold his liquor but that night was different. He had drank more than he used to and was drowning in a pool of emotions. They were overwhelming him and what he wished to do was let them subdue him so, that was exactly what he did. He yielded to its overpoweri

Will stood in front of the restaurant he had made a reservation for his first date with Page. It was a warm promising evening. He couldn't stop thinking about her and the undeniable attraction he felt towards her the last time they met and he was unmistakably sure that she felt it as well. With a deep breath, he walked into the restaurant after wiping his dark blue tuxedo with his hand as though there was a speck of dust on it. He had told one of his friends about Page, the lady he had his eyes on and his plan to ask her out and he had cheered him on.On the other hand, Page had agreed to go on a date with Will after confiding in her best friend. “Rowan kissed you passionately, had sex with you – oral sex and penetration – but acted like you were one of his many conquests and insulted you, calling you a desperate slut after giving him your virginity. No man would do that to a woman he really cares about or likes. Again, he had clearly told you at the very beginning that the marriage

“Page —” Rowan called but she walked past him.Whatever he wanted to say to her, she didn't want to hear. Off to work she went in an all black attire: black suit, black shoes, black handbag, black wristwatch and black earrings, deep in thought. On the days she dressed like that to work – in a one-colour themed outfit – she didn't wear a smile and her employees were always meticulous and overly diligent around her on those days. From inside the company, some of her employees and Katherine sighted her through the company's transparent door. On high alert, each person began to concentrate their attention on what they were doing. Katherine walked to Page who had her right hand in her pocket as her left hand held onto her handbag. Katherine walked beside her boss who wore a stony expression and walked in a majestic manner, she knew better than to say a word as she was quite aware that she would be snubbed. As soon as Page had sat down in her office on her big swivel chair, Katherine read

EpilogueAgain, nothing beats family.Yes, there would always be fights, arguments and trials but then again, what are relationships without all of that. Quarrels being settled after a little period of distancing from one another, just a little, only makes the bond between them stronger. That, I say, is a fact very well proven if you in anyway doubt this theory.“How could you have thought that I hide such a sensitive information from you without ever planning to tell you at some point?” Page asked Rowan in disbelief."Well, you didn't tell me yourself did you? I had to find out from someone else,” Rowan replied, pissed but not screaming too loudly. “Why are you seeing it that way?”"Because it's what it is Cupcake. How else do you want me to take it?” He asked, taking off his hand that was on his forehead and looking at her. They were in their bedroom, Page seated on the bed, facing Rowan while he was standing in front of the wall, his back leaning against it.“I didn't tell you th

A hand stretched to where she had sat, Page picked up the small envelope Will had dropped before leaving. The square shaped envelope was white, the little designs on it, gold. Into her bag she dropped it and walked out of the place.A sad feeling sat at the center of her heart as she wished nature would have been nice enough to not have made them meet in the way and time they had met. She was saddened by the fact that things had to go the way they did and she could not be friends with her husband's best friend. It was disheartening. Sadly, the hands of time could not be turned and past actions could not be rewritten or changed. A concise moment of thoughts and she finalized that all the blame was to be accorded to them, the sometimes despicable humans and not nature because undeniably so, humans have will in the palm of their hands. Decisions and actions; rights and wrongs; good and evil; all rest in the palm of our hands so why constantly blame nature… or fate for some of the predic

Rowan forced Page out of bed on Tuesday morning and stayed in the bathroom as she took her bath to make sure she didn't go back to bed when he left the room. She had pleaded with him to let her stay at home but he didn't think it was a good idea. He reckoned that they had had three days of rest for themselves and it was time to get back to work.“You’re a CEO Page," he had said to her as he rolled off their duvet from her body for the third time. He had driven her to work after they had had breakfast and on the way, revealed to her that their head chef was his nanny he had told her about. She cared so much for him that she opted to be his head chef instead of leaving him when he was grown to the point that he could take care of himself. Page was shocked at his revelation. She had hit him and scolded him for not letting her in on that kind of information early enough for her to reverence her as she ought to. Making a mental note to thank her for all that she did for Rowan, she retreat

“Wear the blue dress, it would suit the cool atmosphere better,” Rowan replied to Page's question, buttoning up his blue shirt before putting on his white, pristine loose-fitting trouser.“Okay baby," Page said as she put down the other dress she had in her hand on the bed.She decided to do her light makeup before putting on her dress: pigmented nude eyes with smokey creases and ombre, glossy lips. With ease, she rocked the dress Rowan had picked out between the two she had held out for him to see. They had gone up to the master bedroom to take their bath after Page had released him from their tight hug, him carrying her in his arms till he was in front of the room. They had showered differently, Page going in first before him. He had proposed they go on an outing and had told Page to make a decision on the places she wanted to go. As she hadn't made her choice yet, she said nothing about it, thinking hard of the places she wanted to explore together with her husband. “So… where hav

“My God!” Rowan screamed then released a breath as he jiggled her breasts in his hands and bit her nipples not too hard through her t-shirt. “And you are… you're my Queen. You're my mind blower, my ambrosia, my aphrodisiac. You're my soulmate, my soul's captor and I have to confess that you have rendered me completely powerless around you,” he said softly like he was confessing something which he wanted no one else to hear.Groaning, he took his hands off her breasts and brought his face out of the soace between her breasts. His senses were slowly slipping out from him.“I want to take your tee off Cupcake," he said, snaking his hands underneath her t-shirt and twisting her nipples in the most teasing way ever.Page moaned softly. Music to his ears they were.“Do whatever you want baby," Page uttered, squirming at how good his hands felt on the most sensitive parts of her breasts.“I love it when you call me baby, it sounds so sexy coming from you. “If you keep moaning and grinding on me like that, I fear I might loose my senses and control completely Cupcake," Rowan said in a seductive tone against her lips.Trying to catch her breath, she shook her head.“Loose them Rowan, that's what I want," she said and slammed her lips against his, her growing needs evident in every movement of her lips.Rowan kissed her back, matching up her energy with his once again before finally pulling away.“We need to stop Cupcake. Sex this morning would drain you as you know you had nothing tangible to eat last night. That aside, we just made up,” Rowan reasoned as he held her face so that she would focus on what he was saying and not try to reclaim his lips.“I am not complaining about that Rowan. I want it,” she said in a grumble-like manner."Definitely, you would get it in due time baby but what I do not want is rushing any of this processes. It was ten in the morning and the feeling of waking up had never been more satisfying. Rowan smiled with a refreshing thrill as he opened his eyes, his dreams were finally coming to play. Waking up to watch Page sleep was his first blessing of the morning. His left hand was outstretched across the pillow and had her head on it. He had his other hand over her waist, holding her as close to himself as he could. The memories of the previous night swam into his mind as he moved back a bit to watch Page while his head remained on the pillow. He had thought of giving her her space for the night which led to him walking to his bed after putting on the t-shirt and casual loose fitting trousers he had picked out. Instead of climbing onto the bed as Page had anticipated he would, he had picked up a pillow and walked to his couch. This left Page with a puzzled look invading her features. What does he think he's doing? She had asked herself as she watched him lay on the couch, leaving her to slee
