An attack

Camille paced back and forth in her room rehearsing ways to ask Sean out for dinner. "Hey Sean, want to grab dinner sometime?" No, too casual, too friendly. "Sean, I was thinking we could discuss about.... something over dinner?" Too formal, too businesslike.

She hesitated, What if he says no? What if he thinks it's a date? Ugh, why is this so hard? Her hands fluttered nervously, her fingers drumming a staccato beat on her thigh.

Taking a deep breath, Camille decided to just go for it. She walked down the hallway, the soft carpet muffling her footsteps. She stopped in front of Sean's room, her hand hovering over the doorknob. A gentle knock, a soft tap-tap-tap.

The door swung open, and Sean stepped out, phone pressed to his ear. His voice was low, urgent, "Yeah, I understand. I'll take care of it." His eyes flicked towards Camille.

Camille's heart skipped a beat. "Sean, can I—"

But he wasn't listening. He rushed past her, his long strides devouring the distance. His phone still clutch
