Chapter 8 Dinner

“You should have stolen me from him, no you should've never left me. Aus., you left me and because of you I met him. I hate you. I should never have lo-” waiting for her to finish what she was saying but she had fallen right back to sleep, Augustine was frustrated and helplessly carried her again, the woman was clearly too drunk to even go inside by herself and he won’t risk her safety for some simple task of carrying her.

“Knowing that, then it means I still got a chance? Stupid Allana, I came back, it’s you who did not wait. But play time’s over, I am here now, I will get you back, even if I have to steal you, if the situation calls for it then I will do it. This time for sure, so just stay there, I will be here as you fix yourself.” Augustine said before tucking her to her bed not forgetting to visit the child sleeping with his nanny. Seeing both of them sleeping peacefully, Augustine left her condo and mobilized his people, he needed to find him fast, he had been at it for 3 years and they still got no intel. Finding him is his priority as long as she had not known yet, then it's okay.

‘Just wait a little bit longer, then you will be able to care for him too, we will be.’

Waking up with a slight headache, Allana groaned in pain as she held her head and massaged it to ease the pain. Looking around the place, it seems Aus. sent her home, the man really is too good for her. Smiling to herself as she remembers the times where the man had to drag her home when she got drunk at their ball because nobody wanted to dance with her. Unaware that it was him who shot daggers at those who dared to come at her, which resulted in her not having to dance at all. But as the ball ended, Augustine took her to the balcony and danced with her till the clock struck 12 and it’s time for him to leave for his flight in the morning.

After she got out of her bed, Allana did her routine and went downstairs to prepare her son’s meal, the child is already sulking after days of not seeing her. She has to coax him with his comfort foods.

“My love, good morning baby” hugging the dark faced child, Allana chuckled and showered him with kisses hoping that it will work. Seeing that he didn’t budge at all and continued acting nonchalant, she then made her way to the counter and started prepping.

The best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

“Let’s eat now Jiuhan, go and wash your hands”

After finally subduing the little monster, Allana prepared their belongings and some spare clothes for Jiuhan, she promised him that they will buy new toys and play at the nearest playground at the mall to make up for the days that she was not around.

Holding the beaming little child in her arms, Allana couldn't help but giggle at him which earned her a cute little pout. Biting the fat dumpling like cheeks, Jiuhan whined and asked her to stop which she obeyed after he started crying.

Walking towards her car, Allana safely buckled him in his chair and kissed his forehead before starting the engine while playing the sing along audio of nursery rhymes and had fun singing with her son who could only mumble the last words of each stanzas.

Hand in hand, the mother and son strolled around the mall while giggling and having fun with each other’s company, such a warm sight made the passer byes smile and adore the two, some even could not help themselves and take a picture of them, such good looking pair is a fresh scene especially when most children would always throw tantrums, unlike the mature bun the woman is with.

“Mommy play!” Jiuhan exclaimed as he ran around the playground while looking back at her to check if she was still there, smiling at her grown up baby, Allana can’t help but feel elated. Time sure goes fast, last time he was just a small potato, but now he grew up as a fat bun.

While Jiuhan is sliding down the small slide, a young girl went up to him and gave him a toy ball then ran away hiding behind her mother who laughed at their small interaction. At a young age and her son already caught other girls’ attention, it seems like she will be a heartbreaker’s mother very soon. Poor girls, she thought.

“Jiuhan baby” she called as she glanced at her wrist watch, it’s already getting late and they have to eat dinner.  “It’s time to go home my love” seeing his mother’s smiling but tired face, Jiuhan immediately went for his shoes and reached for her hand without a fuss.

Kneeling down in front of him, Allana reached her hand towards him and carried him in her arms. Jiuhan then wrapped his arms around her neck and buried his face in between the crook of her neck and his arms. After she paid the cashier for an hour worth, she left the grounds with the dozing Jiuhan in her arms. Once they were out of the people’s sight, some could not help but gossip at how beautiful the two are, Allana appeared as a graceful and doting mother while Jiuhan is the very cute child that cares for his mother, every time the child would look back at his mother and how considerate he was and easily went to his mother’s arms, touched them.

While waiting for the elevator door to open, Allana got startled when her phone suddenly rang, not looking at the caller's name, she answered the call immediately and used her shoulders for support and tilted her head to the side to pinch her phone and hold Jiuhan properly.

“Young miss?” a voice of an elder man that was very familiar to her resounded, realizing who it was, Allana immediately understood what the call was for. “Uncle Khan” she replied. “The old master wanted to meet you for dinner, miss” hearing the urgency in his voice, Allana agreed immediately, although she was still reluctant to meet her grandfather, but he is the only blood relative she has left, and the man isn't getting any younger. After they agreed to meet at the restaurant that was near her destination, Allana then buckled Jiuhan and left.

Parking her car at the garage, she nudged Jiuhan and when the cute little bun still refuses to open his eyes, Allana can only sigh and carry him again, he sure knows how to pretend. As she closed the doors, her eyes landed unto her grandfather who also just got off his car, beside him is his best friend and longtime secretary, uncle Khan.

Rushing towards them, slightly hesitating if she should hug the stone-faced old man or not.

“What are you waiting for? A miracle? My old bones are already shaking, you brat!” reprimanding her like usual, although he looked as if he is angry but the clear longing and love in his teary eyes could never be ignored.

Shakily holding his hand as she kissed the back of his hand and pressed it on her forehead, this action had been engraved in her very soul, such a thing is their family’s way of greeting and honoring the elders.

Patting her hands, the old man gripped it and as they made their way towards the restaurant hand in hand, the obvious smile on her grandfather’s face, looking like a proud old man made Allana feel like there was a thorn safely removed inside her heart.

Entering the sophisticatedly designed restaurant, the group of four was a sight to behold especially when this group is composed of the famous Old Master Valrick Delaney and his trusted aide Khan Porte. With them is a young woman carrying a young child, seeing the affectionate intertwined hands, people started to gossip that it is his young lover, completely forgetting that it could be his mysterious granddaughter.

An attendee immediately guided towards their room and coincidentally they came across Ji Xuan and Jin Wei who were about to leave their private room. Seeing the obvious lipstick stains on the man’s neck, the already dark face of the old man grew grimmer and more glared at the two before him.

Grunting in displeasure, the old man glanced at his secretary. “I thought this is a professional and sophisticated place, I wasn’t informed that this place is filled with lint’s and shams. I lost my appetite, let’s leave this filthy place now.” ruthlessly spouting such words while looking at the pale faced couple.

As they turned to leave, the sleeping Jiuhan opened his eyes and glanced at them, his clear eyes went dull as he pretended to not see them and went back to hugging his mother which made the two even more speechless.

“Even his son denies his relations on such a fickle person, how disgusting.” turning their back against them completely not missing how Wei held onto Xuan acting like a poor bullied woman.
