Chapter 3

                     

            THREE YEARS AGO

"Carol, Carol, did you get ready, honey? "

"Yes dad." Caroline rushed to him, holding her bags.

"Mum, I'll have my breakfast at school." She uttered, " I'm getting late." She saw her mom was staring at her angrily, pointing to the watch as if saying, " Are you sure? You're getting late?"

"I mean, it's not me. I'm not getting late. I'm absolutely okay with the time." Caroline's tongue was not cooperating with her when she saw her mum's face had turned red out of anger.

She looked at her dad and said, "It's not me..I am not getting late.It's dad. He is getting late for his office.

Caroline sneaked at her dad who was already sitting on the driving seat in his car.She smiled and immediately got inside the car.

Her dad whispered, " What are you saying, Carol? You know your mom very well. She is a strong lady. She'd attack me with her fangs and pointed nails and she wouldn't wait a second to drink my blood and he started the car.

"Oh! Come on dad. It was your plan. You told me yesterday that you got bored of eating mum's cooked food.She already drinks your blood everyday by scaring you like an angry bird. Anyways, if she is a vampire then you are also the leader of your pack and your brave daughter is always with you." She gave a high-five to her dad.

"Wait, wait. You said my brave daughter. Where is my brave daughter? " He asked and turned back to  see.

"Dad... It's me. I'm talking about myself. Please don't tease me." and she pouted and started looking outside through the window.

"I was just kidding. You're  my brave daughter of course." He said and then both of them started laughing.

The car stopped near a building. " THE TALENT HUNT " was written on the top of the building. Caroline got out of the car and waved goodbye to her dad and walked to the school. Her dad was looking at her till she completely went off from his sight. Then he started the car and walked away. Caroline was in her last year of high school and this school was a pack school with only werewolves and no humans were allowed here. So, it was easy for her to find a mate for herself. But she was not interested in any of them.

She was a daughter of alpha Jack who was commanding two big packs altogether and her mom was Elena.She was not a werewolf.She was a vampire.

Both of them were very kind and generous towards their members,always ready to help them everytime.

Alpha Jack was having the ownership of two packs together.

So, it was quite obvious to have gathered so many enemies against themselves.

Alpha Jack owned a very big company for the members of his packs.

"Peter, inform all the employees to come into the Conference Hall. I need to talk to them. It's urgent." alpha Jack said to his manager as soon as he entered his office.

All the employees rushed towards the Conference Hall soon after getting the notice, holding tablets or laptops.

"I called the urgent meeting because someone had tried to hack our systems. The purpose of them would be absolutely stealing the data of the company." he told them., " so, i want a tight security of the system and the data should be stored in a very confidential way."

"Okay sir." everybody out there said.

" Now, all of you please get back to work." alpha Jack said and stepped out from the Conference Hall.

"Peter, please come to my chamber with the files that I gave you yesterday."

"Okay sir." and Peter walked towards a room to take the files.

Someone knocked on the door. , " Yes, Peter, please come in." alpha Jack said while going through another file. He didn't raise his head and continued with the file.

"It's not Peter. It's me.. " alpha Jack raised his head to see who was there.

"Hey! you.. " he said shockingly coupled with anger, " what are you doing here in my office? "

It was Mark, his cousin. He was also working here one year ago but one day he got caught red-handed, selling the secret information to his competitors.

Alpha Jack fired him immediately.

"I came to apologize to you for my mistake." he pleaded and kneel down before him., " I'm really sorry."

"Mark, you have already lost the trust of the company. How can we believe you now? ``Alpha Jack said.

"Please give me one last chance." he begged.

The company was doing research on The recombinant DNA Technology. They were working on getting a species after fusing the genes of a tiger and a wolf, having the quality of both. As powerful as the tiger and as intelligent as the wolf. Alpha Jack wanted the future generation to be very powerful.

Mark was one of the important members of the research.Without him, it was quite difficult for the other members to get success in the research.So, alpha Jack wanted him to keep him back in the company.

He said, "Mark, I'm going to give you a very last chance. You try to get back our trust."

"Sure. Thank you so much.I'll try my best to get your trust back." Mark said happily and walked out from his chamber.

                        SCENE -2

"Hey! Caroline, why are you moving around here outside the school." The school-guard said while locking the main entrance of the school building., " you're supposed to go home. Everybody had already left the school."

"Yeah but I'm waiting for my mom. She is gonna pick me up." Caroline said while looking on the right side of the road from where she would come but she couldn't see anyone driving to her. Now, the guard had also left already and she was all alone there now. It was getting so late. Suddenly, she saw a car approaching her but it wasn't her mom's car. The car stopped near her. A guy put the window up and peeped from the driving seat of the car. He looked at her and said, " do you need any help? "

Caroline didn't reply to him and she was strictly instructed not to say anything to a stranger.

He waited there for her reply but Caroline kept looking away from him towards the road. He looked at his watch and said again, " It's going to be dark after some time. You tell me where you live, I'll drop you there."

Caroline looked at him to get sure if he was looking trustworthy from his face or not. But she also knew that looks always betray.

He understood her situation and said, "I know it's hard for you to believe in any stranger but believe me, I'll drop you safely and it's far more dangerous to stand here all alone." and he opened the back door of his car and waved to her to get inside the car.

Caroline's head and heart were arguing between themselves like two opposition parties.

"You shouldn't go with him, Caroline. You just look at his face though it's looking innocent but who knows about his devil mind." her mind warned her.

"Caroline, why are you wasting your time? Hurry up, get inside. He is helpful. He opened the door for you too, so kind." her heart whispered.

Caroline put her foot ahead then her mind said, " Hey! What are you doing? How can you believe in a stranger and that also in a guy."

She again put her leg back.

"Why are you thinking so much? Just get inside before he changes his mind to give you lift and leave you here alone. You're already a werewolf, brave daughter of a strong alpha of a pack." Her heart persuaded her.

"So what if you're a werewolf? Nowadays, humans are more monsters than werewolves. " her mind warned her.

"Oie.. Caroline flustered and uttered, " both of you stop fighting." She said so loudly that he got confused too and muttered to himself, " Both? " and he looked around out of the car from the window, " who's the other one? "

"Sorry.. " Caroline said and got inside the car and closed the door immediately. She let the window open in case if something happened or felt suspicious, she could shout for help. The boy smiled and moved the car ahead. He adjusted the mirror, focused back to her so that he could see the back clearly.
