Chapter 3

Xithara's POV

"The feat I'm most proud of is the fact that I managed to convince Keith into thinking you killed your child on purpose just to spite him because he didn't love you.

Despite all my brainwashing, he didn't want to believe it at first but I finally got him to.

He was so mad that he wanted to kill you but I pacified him. He was depressed by the loss of your child, especially the fact that he believed you were responsible and fell right into my trap. He got drunk and I made my move, we ended up having sex and though he felt guilty when he woke up, I made him realize I was OK with it.

And I told him that I'm his loyal servant and I would willing to serve my Alpha in any manner he desired. That's just how the affair between the both of us began.

Whilst everything was going on, I increased my efforts in turning everyone else against you but it didn't seem to be enough as once again, my plan was nearly thwarted by the arrival of the Lycan King." Xianna narrated, her hands turning into fists at the end.

Just when I think I've heard the most preposterous thing, Xianna manages to surprise me by dropping another dumbfounding revelation.

She killed my child and made my husband believe I was responsible and as if that's not enough, she used the terrible situation to her advantage and got into a relationship with him.

I could never have guessed that this level of wickedness even existed and much more from the little sister I loved so dearly and protected with everything.

I'm mad at myself for how clueless I've been all this while. How did I not see any of this or suspect anything?

I tried to pacify myself with the fact that Xianna is an evil mastermind so she was very careful and there's no way I could have guessed but deep down, I know that I'm partially to blame for my own downfall.

If only I had tried a little harder to save my marriage, if only I had tried to talk to Keith about our deteriorating relationship, maybe he would have let something slip.

If I had approached my parents for advice then maybe things would be different. If only I had been a little less trusting maybe my life wouldn't have to end so early. Just maybe…..

"I don't know how you did it but the Lycan King was very infatuated with you." She suddenly said, causing me to stare at her in shock.

The Lycan King was interested in me? But how? I had first met him when I was on a walk to clear my head after an altercation with some of the Pack members. They had openly disrespected me, disregarding the fact that I'm still their Luna.

I was shocked and angry and I didn't want to transfer the aggression on anyone so I chose to take a walk.

I met the Lycan King, Raizel on the way but I had no idea who he was at the time. He was travelling with a few others, he was dressed as a commoner and he revealed to me that he was having trouble finding the palace of my Pack so I gave him directions but before I left, we had a great chat which turned my mood around completely. I instantly thought of him as a friend.

I was shocked to return to the palace and realize that the man who I had chatted with so casually and given directions to was actually the very powerful Lycan King.

He introduced himself and I introduced myself as well. He seemed a bit disappointed when he found out I'm the Luna of my Pack but I didn't really think much of it.

The Lycan King had come to our Pack on invitation by Keith. Keith was seeking a treaty with the Lycan Kingdom as an alliance between our Pack and the Lycan Kingdom would not only grant us protection but reverence from the other Packs.

I also found out that King Raizel was only agreeing to the treaty because his father and Keith's father, the former Alpha, had been great friends in their youth. Rather than inviting Keith over, he chose to come to the Pack instead to see if to proceed with the treaty or not. He travelled incognito so as not to draw attention.

He revealed that he was impressed by our lifestyle, especially the people he had met and chatted with on the way to the Palace so he was going to agree to the treaty. We were all very happy with this.

We talked like good friends the few times we encountered each other during his stay in the Pack. It never stopped surprising me that such a powerful and feared person could be so easygoing and fun to be with.

I never knew he liked me. Is it really true?

Xianna's cold and mocking voice broke me out of my reverie.

"I knew that he was more powerful than Keith and becoming his wife would grant me so many benefits so I tried my best to seduce him but I only managed to repulse him as he saw right through me.

He had taken a fancy for you and you were too blind to see it. He remained respectful though and subtle about it since you already belonged to the Alpha but his affection was so obvious and it angered me.

Despite everything I'd done, you still managed to win against me in love and I knew that if I didn't make the perfect move, my goal of ending your life would never come true.

Even if Alpha Keith ended your marriage, which I knew would only take a matter of time thanks to my efforts, the Lycan King would be more than willing to marry you and that would not only grant you the best life, but a higher status as well and I couldn't have that.

So I made my biggest move yet. After sowing seeds of doubt about your fidelity in Keith's mind, I drugged you and took you to the Lycan King's bed. When he saw you in that state, he was naturally worried and I made sure that the Alpha barged into the room while the both of you were in a compromising position.

Thus, he accused you of infidelity and the Lycan King defending you happened to be the icing on the cake.

You tried to explain but of course he didn't want to hear any of it, what man would in that type of situation?

He insulted the Lycan King who warned him not to make the stupid mistake of making the Lycan Kingdom his enemy.

He declared that from that day onwards, our Pack and the Lycan Kingdom would be enemies and asked King Raizel to leave.

You still tried to explain which caused him to hit you in anger and he ended your marriage right there and then.

He wanted to throw you into the dungeon for betraying him but I pretended to care and instead pleaded with him to reduce your punishment by only giving you house arrest. He reluctantly agreed only because he knew that I'm pregnant and he wanted to do everything to please me.

The only reason I stopped him from imprisoning you is because I want to see you dead. I want to watch as life is being stripped away from you." She said and more tears poured down my cheeks. I still can't believe any of what I'm hearing. It feels like a terrible nightmare, one I would give anything to wake up from.

"Do you want to know the reason why you're being publicly executed today? It's as a result of the final move that I played. I used my final trump card, my pregnancy to get rid of you.

After King Raizel left and you were placed under house arrest, I went to Keith and told him that I would like to reveal to you that I'm pregnant and who the father of the child is. He seriously kicked against the idea as he tagged you as dangerous. He was scared you would try to harm my child just like you had killed yours just to spite him.

But I pretended to be a saint and told him that you're my sister and I still saw good in you. I told him I was feeling guilty about our affair and I wanted to seek forgiveness from you. He believed everything I said, hook, line and sinker and even called me an angel.

After which he promised to marry me after officially ending his marriage to you. I asked him what he would do about my pregnancy since it would eventually be found out by the Pack members. I told him I was scared they would feel sorry for you and side with you since you were being cheated on but he promised me he would tell everyone that since you could no longer have children, you had pleaded with me to conceive a child for you.

He would then tell them that since I'm such an amazing person, I had agreed and sacrificed my body in order to birth a child for you. They would no doubt love me and praise my selflessness.

Albeit reluctantly, he agreed to let me see you and I wasted no time in putting my plan into motion.

You were excited to see me and pleaded with me to reason with Keith, all of which I agreed to. If you remember clearly, I requested to borrow your shampoo and while you went into the bathroom to get it, I planted fake evidence of your relationship with King Raizel under your bed.

I had also brought some fake blood along with me so I used it to make it seem like I was having a miscarriage.

When you returned with the shampoo and saw the blood, you were alarmed and I pretended to fall to the ground and screamed as loud as I could.

Keith rushed into the room and when he saw the scene, he feared the worst. He took me out of the room, despite your confusion and the questions you had.

I had previously bribed the doctor to say that I had almost suffered a miscarriage and when Keith asked me about what had transpired between the both of us in your room. I lied that I caught you hiding something and when you went into the bathroom, I checked and found love letters exchanged between you and Raizel which not only proved your affair, but revealed that you were acting as a spy and giving vital information to Raizel and thus, he was planning to launch a surprise attack on our Pack. He would kill everyone, including Keith and he would then make you his queen. I told him that was what the letters said and he was in disbelief so he went back to your room and found the letters exactly where I told him they would be, under your bed.

Of course you knew nothing about the letters and declared your innocence so he attacked you and tried to strangle you for not just lying and cheating on him but for betraying the entire pack.

He was stopped by the others and he ordered that you be thrown into the dungeon and severely tortured.

He called a pack meeting and revealed your 'truth' to everyone and they were all disgusted by you.

He also announced my pregnancy but told them you were the one who asked me to conceive, he also told them you tried to kill my child out of jealousy but the goddess was merciful and protected our child.

They all supported me and sympathized with me while it was generally decided that you deserve the death sentence.

So the Alpha declared you would be publicly executed today and here we are." Xianna finally concluded after revealing every single mistake I had ever made in my life. I felt worse than stupid.
