Chapter 19 Naomi Winchester

Misty wore a champagne-colored cocktail dress. She had a diamond-studded tiara perched on her head. She looked like a princess and attracted the attention of most of the guests.

Claudia took in her daughter's appearance proudly. She whispered, "Make sure to put on a good performance later. Once you become Ms. Yakes' apprentice, you'll definitely be able to marry into a wealthy family."

Misty frowned as though she felt uncomfortable by her mother's blunt words. She replied in an equally low voice, "Mom, stop reminding me. I know what I need to do."

Misty was young and beautiful. She looked innocent, yet the look in her eyes was downright predatory.

Once she got rid of that disabled man, she could live a better life.

Claudia didn't mind Misty's tone. She replied with a smile, "I know. You've always been my pride and joy."

Compared to the other guests present, the Emersons were insignificant. It had taken quite a bit of effort on their end just to be able to attend the party.
