His eyes were open. Despite him still being confirmed to the bed, his eyes were open and his lips were pulled up in a smile that looked painful. When I barged into the room, Doctor Lorenzo was startled but when he saw me, he beamed.

“Miss, are you not surprised?” He asked, “As expected, a royal Alpha wolf is incomparable to little Alphas like us. I have checked his vitals and everything is working well. He should be out and about by tomorrow.”

“Are you sure?” As I spoke to Lorenzo, my eyes remained fixated on the man in bed.

Our gazes locked and I did not attempt to turn away. My mouth felt dry as a sudden lightness came over me. It was as though a heavy bag had been taken off my back and I had become as light as a sprite. My heart also hammered loudly in my ears.

“Yes, I am certain. It may even be earlier. I have given him some pain relief for any lingering pain.” Doctor Lorenzo did not hide his pride at having such a great patient.
