I lay on the ground like a dying dog. My eyes rested on Mimi, and I no longer struggled.

Applause erupted from the audience below, celebrating the impressive performance.

Cedric raised a hand and, without hesitation, slapped Mimi hard across the face.

Instantly, her cheek swelled up.

"You're not included in this."

Mimi obediently knelt on the ground, allowing Cedric to step on her head.

I scrambled to my feet, driven mad by the temptation to rush over and kill him.

Yet, the chains held me back. I crashed heavily back onto the ground.

But it was thanks to that that I noticed something.

We weren't on land; it was a ship under our feet.

I just felt it sway ever so slightly.

There was still a chance—as long as we could jump off the ship.
