Hi guys, thank you so much for reading and sticking this far in the book. This is the first book I've ever written that I am adamant to finish and you all that keep sticking around and give me support really motivates me to go on. Thank you all so much and don't be shy to comment ❤
All Matt heard were the blood wrenching screams leaving Chloes mouth as she fell back in fear as he stood on all fours before her, Niki unable to catch her. Her face no longer bore the despair it had just moments ago, it now held total fear, fear of him. A sob left her mouth as she scurried backward on her behind, her eyes wide and her mouth agape, before getting to her feet on shaky legs.“Chloe look at me, look at me,” Niki said in a slow, calm voice turning to Chloe with her arms raised, she took hesitant steps towards Chloe, watching her carefully until she stood in front of her, going to hold Chloe by the shoulders and giving them a reassuring squeeze, forcing her to look at Niki.Chloes gaze flickered to Niki before darting back over her shoulder to Matt, her body was rigid and trembled in fear; her eyes clouded with emotions and her brows brought up high. Matt took a step forward, wanting to reassure his mate but as he did so, she turned on her hill and ran.“Now you've done it
Chloes back was against the wall of rough rocks, scraping her skin as she looked on in fear at the black wolf standing before her. Niki stood off to the side, though she was closer to her than the wolf that was making Chloe tremble in fear. Her chest rose and fell with immense speed as her lungs threatened to close in panic, her heart beating uncontrollably and her head was spinning. she was fighting for strength and consciousness but it felt like a loosing battle. She was almost certain she saw Matt turn into this monster in front of her but her mind refused to believe it; even if she saw it with her own eyes. She knew if she contemplated the idea she would go mad, her mind was clinging to the only logical explanation she could muster, but there wasn't one. It all felt like a dream as she didn't want to believe the situation. From a young age, she was taught not to believe in the unbelievable such as fairy tales, but how could she not believe when she saw it with her own eyes? The m
Chloe and Matt had been walking through the forest in silence for over an hour. She took this time for the events of the day to sink in, thinking of everything on repeat, an endless cycle that tortured her mind with unanswered questions. So many emotions ran through her that she didn't know what she was actually feeling or which emotion dominated them all. It was all too overwhelming. She didn't know what to think or if she was even thinking rationally at all.She was following a stranger after all, going deeper into the woods than she was comfortable with. But the curiosity got the better of her. She wanted answers, needed to know the truth, even though she was terrified of what she might learn. And so she asked the one question that was pondering her mind the most right now.“So are you going to tell me anything or are you taking me somewhere to kill me because I know?” Chloe said impatiently, though her heart clenched with the uncertainty of what was to come. “Matt, what are you doing here so early?” James' voice echoed through the house when Chloe and Matt entered through the back door, a thoughtful tone bouncing off the plain white walls that was laced with a bit of concern.“An incident happened,” Matt answered flatly, his voice sharp as a razor as a muscle twitched in his jaw. Just the thought of what happened to Chloe made his blood boil and his heart rate skyrocket through the roof with anger simmering just above the surface. Not knowing where his father was, he walked further into the house, grabbing a random jacket he found on the floor and handing it to Chloe. She took it from his grasp with a thankful nod and a small smile, her eyes softening as she searched his face, for what, he didn't know. Her cold hand grazed his for a momen, sending sparks through his body, making goosebumps rise on his arms. He retracted his hand immediately, shocked by the feeling, though his features remained blank, the only thing exposing him was his ey
It was the first day back to school for Chloe and already she was dreading it, wishing she could climb back into bed and fall into a blissful sleep. She hadn't slept much the previous night, frightened by her drunken father raging over everything. When she was younger, her father was the sweetest man alive, he was her roll mode, the man she always went to when she was having problems at schooll. That was until her mother died and the drinking started. He was an angry drunk, always pushing her into corners whenever she made him upset. Her only escape was sleep, when it would come, and when it wouldn't be riddled with dark nightmares or traumatizing memories that raided her dreams most nights. She didnt mind though, she had gotten used to the nightmares a long time ago, though they still frightened her.Chloe rolled out of bed and went downstairs to start breakfast for her father before he woke up. she walked down the narrow hallway that lead to the kitchen and the living room. She
It was the first day of school for Matt and his pack members in this new town. They had to move after they were raided by rogues in their old town, which they werent strong enough to fight off since their pack consisted of only 12 members, including himself after two of them were killed during the attack. He sat on his bed, waiting for his father, the alpha to call for him from downstairs. He was staring out his window, at the beautiful forest just outside the house, the dog laying low between the trees, hiding the secrets of the forest from any onlooker at the moment.Matt longed for a run, to stretch his legs in wolf form, feeling the cool air brushing through his fur and the fresh air that would surround him. The thought made his wolf, Zane, whine in his head, approving of the idea, but they had no time unless Matt wanted to be late for school.Instead, he stood up, tired of waiting for his father, and started getting dressed, deciding on a pair of blue Jean's and a plain white shi
Matt stood in the hall, Mark beside him. He had a disappointed look on his face missing Chloes presence. He was staring down the hall she had just left, wanting to run after her but knew he couldn't, he didn't want to seem like a crazy stalker running after a girl he just met.“What a love sick puppy,” Mark said, shaking his head in amusement. He grabbed Matt by the shoulder, steering him into the class, taking a seat at the back. The class was quite small with two rows of tall, white tables. The back wall was filled with cupboards with labels and Hazardous signs. The walls covered in posters of the periodic table, chemical compounds and the chemical makeup of certain elements. Each table was equipped with a lamp, microscope and test tube holders. At the front of the class sat the teachers desk with many papers littering the top and a massive white board in the center of the wall.'So what was all that about?' Mark asked through the mind link while playing with the microscope'What?'
Chloe woke with tears in her eyes, her heart racing and her breathing laboured. Her hair was matted to her scalp and her clothes clung to her body, drenched in sweat. Her body was still shacking from fear as she tired calming herself, taking long deep breaths. It was the third nightmare she'd had that night. It was a miracle she'd managed to fall back asleep after the first, let alone the second. She didn't want to take the chance of falling asleep again just to be woken with fear. Her heart wouldn't let up the rapid beating as she felt a panic attack coming on. When the tears started falling, she sat up, bring her knees to her chest and rocking back and forth to try calm herself. The panic attack started taking her breath, making it hard to breath as her lungs contracted in her chest, her head getting light from the lack of oxygen, all the while trying to keep quiet to not wake her father as she gasped for air. After what felt like forever, she started calming down, her breathing com

'Matt, we need to go find Chloe, it's an emergency,' Niki shouted in Matts head, urgency clear in her voice.'I'm coming, where are you?' He asked in a harsh tone.'Field,' she said in anxiously and Matt started running, each step held purpose as he made his way in the direction of the field. The closer he got, the more students there were, blocking his way. He didn't let that stop him, but it did make his anger boil closer to the edge as bodies bumped and pushed at him. He needed to get to Chloe, the tone Niki had used was enough for him to know that they could not take their precious time.So he pushed further though the mass of bodies blocking his way, ranting over something with shocked looks on their faces. He made his way out the large, green double doors to the field. Half the school was outside which was unusual as they all wispered to one another, some laughing amongst themselves while others frowned. He saw Niki off to the side at the edge of the field and ran over to her.“
“You're not supposed to be in here,” Chloe spat, glaring at Liam while she tried covering her body the best she could.“No, we're not,” he said with a devious smile on his face as he looked her up and down, his eyes momentarily focusing on the bruising that covers one half of her body.“We?” Chloe questioned, a frown covering her features. Just then four other guys, around the same build, wearing football blazers came into the bathroom, smirking at Chloe. “Get out!” she shouted at all of them, backing up a bit as they surrounded her.“You see, you and your new friend have really been hurting our feelings,” He said, putting his hand on his chest in mock hurt, "and by the look of things, we're not the only ones," He smirked, gesturing to her bruises.“Well if you'd learn to listen the first time a girl says no, I'm sure you wouldn't have that problem,” Chloe retorted, ignoring his last remark.“Yea, well now it's time to return the favour,” He said, an evil smile pulling at his lips. It had been a week since Chloe and Niki had met on the bleachers wanting to be her friend. At the start, Chloe didn't really want anything to do with her, not wanting to give Niki the power to hurt her; and so she kept pushing her away. It didn't work though, Niki was very persistent on getting to know Chloe, as she would follow her every where and brush off the rude remarks Chloe would throw her way.Though, that all changed when they started talking about chemisty and for the first time they had a proper conversation. Chloe enjoyed having someone to talk to about her classes and to theorize on the different possibilities of a reaction when combining certain chemicals. She doesn't know why Niki wanted to be around her in the first place; Chloe knew she wasn't the best company to have.Chloe found herself getting quite attached to the girl, though she didn't want to, she couldn't help be drawn to Niki and the friendship they were building. Chloe couldn't deny that it scared her someti
Once Matt got back to the house, he shifted back and went to his bedroom to put on Jean's and a shirt. He waited for his father outside the front of the house, leaning on the large oak door. The cobble stone of the dirveway glowed yellow under the street lamps and light that escaped the windows from inside the house.Matt didn't have to wait long until he heard the roar of his dads truck just down the street and a few seconds later, the old gray truck came into view, the headlights blinding Matt slightly as James idled to a stop in front of the drive way. Matt jogged toward the truck, opening his fathers door before James got the chance.“What did you find?” He asked while James scratched in the cubby, taking out a few papers and collecting the three books on the passenger seat. Once James had everything he wanted, he stepped out of the truck, slamming the door behind him.“Not here,” he said, walking off toward the door of the house. When they got to the front door, Matt opened it,
Matt was running through the forest in his wolf form, Zane taking control. Their anger was intensified as Matt's rage mixed with Zanes. He pushing them to run faster than ever, trying to control their boiling anger. He felt twigs and stones sticking to the underside of his paws, poking and stabbing at his feet every time his paws touched the ground. Sand was flying out behind them as they ran with inhuman speed, dodging trees and leaping over bushes. The wind was cold as it ripped through his long black fur, cooling his scorching skin. His muscles were burning from the running but Zane didn't let up, instead he pushed further, forcing them to go faster even as their back legs wanted to give out.Matt wanted to reason with his wolf, try to calm him down, but Zanes rage mirrored his own and so he knew it would be pointless to try. They both couldn't handle the thought of Chloe being a victim of abuse, Matt kept trying to talk himself into any other conclusion that wouldn't include Chl
