A Mate

“Mate? Are you snow white? I should not have come to your office without an appointment to try and apologize, but that can’t be the reason I have to live with you,” she said. Emerald was frustrated.

She had heard him say that they were married so much, it was annoying her.

“I don’t have to be here, do I?” she asked.

“Yes, you have to be. Not only do you have to be close by, you have to be close enough to touch. We will have to set some ground rules.” he said.

“What do you mean close enough to touch?” she asked.

“We sleep in one room,” he said.

“No! Rule one, my room is off limits. You are in no circumstance allowed to be there unless I allow it,”

“How can a couple sleep in different rooms?” he asked.

“Move along. I am not budging on this.”

“Rule two, we will have you working from home. I can come around and watch you work,” he said. She could not seem to notice that he was teasing her.
