03: Kiss

My wolf cried in pain as I felt my chest being ripped apart. Sweat coated in my forehead as I continued to feel sick. I felt my insides shaking and the need to run away grew stronger than ever.

‘Why did you reject our mate?’ my wold cried. Hot tears fell on her eyes.

‘I don’t want a mate who will only cheat on us.’

‘No one will accept us anymore.’

‘I don’t care.’

I will run away from this pack. I will do that this evening when everyone is busy celebrating.

“Babe,” Dominic started when he got hold of himself. He stepped forward, but I slapped his cheeks. Both of them.

“Don’t call me babe anymore. You’re making me even sick, Dominic. From now on, I am your servant. Your omega. But no longer your mate. Go to your father. Alpha Leo called you for this evening's meeting and for the party that would take place after the meeting. Your Father needed you there. He said that maybe you will find your mate there."

“You are my only mate, Freya,” he said, unbothered by my slap. He was thick-skinned and that might be the reason why he was embarrassed by his shameful actions.

“Not anymore. I rejected you.”

“I won’t accept it.”

“You will accept it. You should. I will no longer recognize you as mine.”

“Babe.”

I pulled out a knife from my hip and put it around his throat as I glared at him. “Stop opening your fucking mouth. I no longer wanted to hear any of it. Do not approach me unless it is work-related, Dominic. I regretted being paired with you. You make me sick,” I spat.

He gulped.

“You’re willing to hurt me?”

I pushed the knife even more so that it drew blood.

Dominic’s eyes widened. “Babe.”

“Now you know I am serious. Let’s pretend that we did not screw each other, shall we? And the moment I heard you spreading rumors about me, I will get back to you, Dominic and you will regret having me as your mate. You hear that?”

“C-Can you put the knife down? Someone might see us.”

Threatening the alpha's family was punishable by death.

Slowly, I put down the knife and put it back on my hip.

Dominic heaved a sigh of relief after the threat to his life was gone.

He groaned. “It was a mistake earlier, babe.” There was no remorse in his voice. He was not even guilty about it.

“It was never a mistake. You could have put your dick on your pants, but you did not. You will regret this, Dominic. I will make sure of this.”

“What are you going to do? Don't tell Uncle Percy about this.”

“Are you wetting your pants now?”

“Dad will kill me.”

Just as I was about to open my mouth, Dominic entered the room and a few seconds passed and he was back with a fresh pair of T-shirt and pants.

This is why the women loved him. He was handsome and sexy. He was worth drooling. But after what he did to me, he was no longer any of that in my eyes.

Back then, I thought if there was someone who was capable of rejecting someone, it would be him. He wouldn't hesitate to reject me before because I was no one. Not worthy to be looked at. Not someone whom he could use for his alpha position. Dominic was the type who was constantly thinking of making his father happy and I was the one who would make the previous alpha disappointed.

I was wrong.

In the end, it was I who let go.

I stared at the ceiling to stop myself from crying. How long will these bad events keep on happening?

If there was no happiness in this world, maybe dying would be better.

"Come, babe," he ordered when he was back again. “Why don't we first go to Dad so we will think about this?”

My eyes darted to his neck.

He was wearing the woman’s hickey. The woman’s mark. The evidence of his cheating. And there was a droplet of blood but never wiped it. I was not at least guilty.

Bastard. Asshole!

“Would you at least ask your wolf to heal your hickey?” I pointed at his neck. “A kiss mark. Your father will be mad if he saw you like that.”

“Stop gawking at it,” he scolded. “Follow me.”

“Bastard,” I muttered under my breath. “You were not even feeling sorry.”

“Babe, you're not prepared to listen to me now. If I keep on insisting on saying my apologies, you will likely kill me. I decided to talk about it when you get calm.”

“Nothing will change my mind. I already rejected you.”

“I'm not giving up.”

“Oh, shut up. After I saw you fucking someone else? Do you think I will just be a martyr and accept you with open arms? Fuck you!”

Dominic shook his head and continued walking with me tailing him.

Our pack's eyes were looking at the two of us as we walked to the hallway.

I temporarily forgot my hatred towards Dominic. I wanted to make myself as small as possible, the sudden attention making me fidget. Why were they looking at me? I would melt if they continued looking at me like this.

“What is he doing with that freak?”

“Maybe she is being punished for failing her duty. Served her right. I saw her earlier gawking at Alpha Leo.”

Using my long hair, I covered my face using my hair.

I envy my ex-mate. How could he face the people even if he was an asshole for taking almost all the single women here? He was a prick for fucking some random girl wherever he goes? How shameless. He was not even pressing the cheating issue.

He thought I would just forget about it like I did before.

Yeah. That was not the first time he cheated.

"Are the preparations complete?" Dominic asked out of the blue. “No mistake should be committed. Alpha Percival is coming.” He shivered after mentioning his uncle.

“Why? Scared that he might spank your butt?” I muttered with sarcasm. “Why don't you come clean with him? Tell him you killed his horse.”

“It was an accident. You were the only one who knew about it.”

“It's because you believed we would never break up. That's what you are wrong. I can use all your secrets to break you apart, Dominic.”

Dominic made a sharp turn, away from the servant's prying eyes.

‘Don’t you dare raise your voice at me, Dominic. Not when it is your fault.’

'I'm not raising my voice, babe,’’ he shot back.

We made a full stop on one corner.

I groaned inwardly. This was not helping me at all. The feeling of being sick returned. I needed to go back to my room and recuperate and if I was lucky, I would be able to run away when everyone was already busy.

Dominic scanned his surroundings and after seeing there were no servants in the hallway, he grabbed my hand, pulled me into a dark corner, and started to kiss me crazy.
