Guilt

Lily watched Axel walk away, she kept wondering if she heard him correctly.

Her father’s burial? Why did he mention it out of the blue and how did he find out her father wasn't buried yet?

Lily’s mood was ruined immediately, she wasn't happy anymore. The memories she thought she had successfully buried came rushing in and tears welled up in her eyes.

She rushed up to her room and fell on her bed immediately, she started to cry and cried herself to sleep.

THE NEXT DAY

MORNING

Lily was sluggish as she got dressed, she had a thousand thoughts going through her head. If Axel was really serious about getting her father buried, that means she has to accept the reality of him being dead and let go.

She wasn't ready to do that, not anytime soon.

“Ma’am.” The maid called and Lily slowly turned to her as she brushed down her hair.
