Chapter One

Pretend it was just one of your usual meeting. Just another wisdom show.

She tried very hard to do just that but the adrenalin skipping through her system called her a liar.

 It wasn’t just a meeting, but her first meeting with her new boss who happened to be the man she had an affair with, on a drunk night. Her one night of reckless drinking and drunk affair was staring right at her face, she wished the ground would open up and swallow her but she knew hope was not a grain of sand. This is exactly what she gets from following Bella’s idea of loosing up.

 Of course the first man she had a drunk night affair with had to be the new boss of her company. Fiona Garbera smiled with a confidence she was far from feeling and shook Colt Harper’s hand.

 She took a deep breath:assured herself that he wouldn’t recognize her. Of course she recognized him from the morning before she ran out of the hotel. “Fiona Garbera”. She said, introducing herself. She could only hope that he wouldn’t recognize her.

She took a deep breath, switched into her professional mood and gave what she hoped was one of the best presentation of her life.

 Her boss had just retired, handling  his company over to his son who had been at Toronto for years and finally decided to return home. Billy Harper was a proud father, Fiona being one of his closest staffs knew a lot about Colt Harper, his achievements and the perfect son he was before this meeting.  Of course Billy proudly announced that his son was returning home to run the company due to his retirement.

 What Fiona hadn't known was that Billy’s son who was said to have returned to Portsmouth a week ago was the man she had a one night stand with as a result of her reckless drinking that night. She really hoped that her boss and colleagues didn't notice the tension in her voice during the presentation. She took a deep breath: reassuring herself that he wouldn't recognize her while trying to steady her tensed hand. It was a good thing the presentation was over, she hastily greeted everyone and made her hurried exit.

She took a deep breath of relief as she got to her office, she tensed as the harsh reality dawned on her: she would be sharing this office with Colts same way she shared it with her ex boss. Well, this is exactly what she got from listening to her sister’s advice. She was sure going to strangle her when she gets home, but for now, she had to deal with her problem, endless thoughts flooded through her brain, she was definitely on a hot sit. She could hear fate laughing at her as hear crawled up her neck, her fervent prayer was for her new boss not to recognize her from that night. Who would want a woman who do a one night stand as one of there senior staffs to a prestigious company like this one. Well, it seems her hard work over the years was going to be wasted because of her one night of reckless act, she loved her job, loosing it over this was going to be one crazy experience for her, she wasn't sure she could forgive herself if that happened and she was definitely not going to forgive her sister too for dragging her out that night and giving her drinks that was past her limit. She took a stroll down the memory lane back to that night.

 It was one of those cozy Saturday evening and Bella had just returned home as her normal energetic self.

“ Fiona!!!” She had screamed to announce her arrival. Fiona had tucked herself into bed, pretending she was fast asleep, knowing it was another Saturday for Bella to nag about her antisocial lifestyle. Fiona didn't care about stuffs like that, all she cared about was a warm night in bed with chocolates to celebrate her success in the completion of a big project which literally took forever. But Bella had another idea for celebrations, to Bella a night out to have tequila shots was the best way to celebrate, bit Fiona knew she was light headed and wasn’t a life of the party like her sister. She knew a drink wouldn't amount to anything positive but rather a gloomy Sunday with hangovers from the previous night. But this night, Bella wasn't taking no for an answer, she was determined to make Fiona go out with her tonight.

“ I am not interested Bella, i just want to sleep, i had a really stressful week, or should i rather say a stressful month just to get this project done”.

Bella wasn’t taking no for an excuse this time, she felt Fiona was too reserved. “ And that is why i have the perfect plan to ease you of your stress, i can’t watch you turn into a workaholic old hag with no fun filled memories of your youthful age”. She responded.

“ Well, we both have different ideas of fun and this is mine, when it gets to your turn of celebration, you can explore your youthful age”, she mimicked Bella, snuggling into bed cozily.

Bella tossed her until her head was spilling, acting like a spoilt kid, “ I can’t go alone Fiona please, i want to go out tonight” she pouted.

“You have being going alone all this while Bella, leave me alone”, she retorted.

“Please sister, please” Bella tossed her more.

Fiona knew this wasn't her night, Bella can be a strong headed pest when she wants to and she knew this was one of those times, but then she still tried her last escape. “I don’t even have what to wear, lets just forget about it” she smiled victoriously.

Bella smirked “ Now this is where i come in as a big sister, i have this fun filled night all planned out, i have the perfect dress for you”.

Fiona sulked “ I hate you”.

Bella laughed at her childish outburst. “ Quit being a big baby and get dressed”, she threw a sea blue dress at her, “ this would be perfect for you, it’s same color with your eyes”.

Fiona had no other choice than to get ready, it was obvious she lost this night to her reckless sister.

“ Drink up Fiona, you aren’t going to die” Bella said as she poured more drink for tequila shots. Fiona couldn't keep counts of how many shots she had, well, she was out and she should loosen up a little. She never really allowed herself to live life, she had always been this reserved kind of woman. To her defense, she had work to do and having drink nights which would result to hangovers wasn’t her priority. She could feel her head spilling, she knew she had taken more shots than her head could carry.

Bella dragged her to the dance floor, “ now its time for fun” she screamed loudly amidst the loud music which made it nearly impossible for Fiona to hear. All it took was a minute and Bella was in a man’s arm leaving Fiona all by herself at the dance floor to flow to the music, typical Bella attitude, she had always been the life of the party, Fiona smiled. Maybe she should make an escape out of the crowd into a place of solitude, she was sure Bella wouldn’t notice. Just as she was about to act according to her plan, a muscular hand snaked his hands around her waist and she heard a whisper that sent a sweet sensation down her body, maybe it was the drink, not maybe, it had to be the drink. It was obvious her escape plan was futile now so she had to go with the flow. She stared ahead and Bella winked at her in approval, giving her a smirk of victory as she finally disappeared into the crowd knowing Fiona had a partner now.

“ do you care for a drink?”, he asked her sweetly, well, since she was out for fun, she needs to have mad fun too, this was a once in a lifetime kind of experience for her.

“ I do”, she responded and they moved over to an empty sit while he ordered for drinks.

 Fiona didn’t know what happened next, all she remembered was waking up in the arms of a handsome stranger the next morning, with her cloth on the floor and her underwear on his face, filled with embarrassment, she quietly took her stuffs, dressed up, and sneaked out of the hotel room. She had lost her virginity to a stranger!!!, it was one hell of a night. She was super grateful he was fast asleep, because if he wasn't, she wouldn’t even know how to face him. She had her first sex as a one night stand, all thanks to Bella, she thought ironically as she made a promise to herself never to let this happen again.

 She took a cab home and met Bella at the door looking worried. “ well, look who is back home after having mad fun all night” Bella teased.

“ It’s not funny Bella, i had my first sex with a stranger and no memory to cherish, all thanks to you for giving me more drinks than my head was capable of carrying”, she threw at her.

Bella laughed “ Wow, so someone finally had her hymen broken, its long overdue sis, you are twenty five for crying out loud, i won’t say i am sorry though, i was beginning to fear you would die as an old hag with a rusted private part because of no sexual activity” she laughed

“ you are unbelievable Bella”, Fiona stormed into her room.

Bella tagged along, bugging her for juicy details, “ so tell me, how was it?, did you both have a replay this morning?, hope you both exchanged contacts?, spill the juicy details Fiona “, Bella pouted.

Fiona sneered at her “ get out of my room”.

“ spill please ” Bella pouted.

“ we didn't have a replay of nothing, we didn't exchange contacts, i sneaked out of the room immediately i realized the terrible mistake i made, end of discussion Bella “.

Bella left in mock defeat, “ you are boring Fiona, sometimes i wonder who is older between us “.

“ get out of my room “, Fiona screamed in frustration.

  She had really thought it was the end of discussion, her hymen was broken by a stranger, she sneaked out and he would never find her.

“ i am sorry Fiona, but i believe it was all for the best, you know fate could be plotting something, i am really sorry for making you go through all this” Bella apologized.

“ best my foot, you are unbelievable Bella, you made me loose my virginity to a stranger and you are here spilling trash of it being for the best” she hissed.

“ what can i do to make you forgive me” Bella asked guiltily.

Fiona realized Bella was beginning to feel bad about everything, she was mad herself but it had already happened and she was sure that wasn’t really Bella’s intention.

“ Its fine sis, its bygone already, i forgive you”, she said, giving Bella a bear hug.

Fate was just sitting hand akimbo waiting to sure its own plan.
