Chapter 2
…
…
“Lydia!! Get down, now!!” yelled the voice “We have prepared you and your animals a feast. So, have a breakfast and eat together with your type.”
Just as the same nuisance as every day. Lydia went downwards the stairs, as she could see her stepmother’s silhouette in the corridor with two maids, placing her arms at her hips with a mockery look on her face.
The two maids were holding some leftovers of the morning breakfast, which were packed poorly, as if they did not consider Lydia a human being or a part of the family.
“Get your trash out and eat with your animals.” Mocked the stepmother.
Lydia held her so-called feast, as none of the food was edible for people to eat, and stepped out of the villa. Her sister Sofia watched the scene from across the living room, as she smirked at her without a single pity on her face.
Lydia was used to such scenarios whenever her father would leave her with her stepmother and stepsister for a business trip. Sofia was the daughter of the second woman, whom her father had married after her mother’s death, so she was treated as a princess by the orders of her mother. While Lydia was treated like nothing but an animal.
Lydia found her way out to the forest. It was the wisest action by her father to wall the forest around the villa, since she could make friends of the animal and feel much safer.
Lydia was welcomed by her little friends, which were waiting for her to bring them the food. She sat at the ground and placed the food beside the animals to have their breakfast.
Just as every day, she could hear a maid calling her from behind, holding some delicious-looking food.
“Lady Lydia!!” gasped the maid “Uh-huh… I… I stole these from the kitchen for you…”
“Thank you, my friend…” murmured Lydia as she emitted a shiny smile.
“I know that you can not eat such food. Madam is being harsh on you! I can not believe her inhumane actions!! That is so cruel thing to do!”
“It is alright. I am used to this.”
“None other your mother was the one who truly loved you…”
“…”
“Uh! I am sorry!! What am I saying?! I did not mean to make you sad!!”
“It’s ok…”
“I… I will excuse myself…”What the maid said was true. After that night with them, none could offer Lydia love, care, respect or any other emotions. She was caged in the walls of her villa and in the life with her stepfamily.
“Useless brat! It would have been better if you just died!”
“I do not care what happens to you. You are a sick girl.”
“You should have never existed!”
“You will have no food today.”
Those were the statements she had often heard from her stepmother, and they kept replaying in her head. Although her words stung, however there was nothing she could do about it. That was her reality and her daily life. That was how cruel world had been treating her ever since they snatched her mother away.
Maybe she should have died with her mother at that night. Maybe she should have never existed. After all, she was nothing but an antisocial girl, who locked herself in her father’s forest and ignored all of human beings. She was nothing like Sofia.
As she dazed off while remembering that unfortunate occurrence, she could hear rattling coming out of the small cabin in their forest.
Thinking that it was a scared animal, she tried to approach the cabin slowly and carefully. The door of the cabin was barely opened, so she thought that it might be nothing but a small one.
She looked around her and thought about how she could pull the animal out of its hideout. As she found out that the animals had already consumed all of the leftover foods, she decided to offer her new friend her own food.
So, she placed the plate, spoon and fork in front of the door and called: “Come out, little child. This is Lydia. Come out of your shelter. Here comes the boy! Come out! I am waiting for you! There is no food if you do not get out!”
The little animal did not respond to her in any way, but kept hiding and uttering no voice. Lydia decided to leave the food in front of the cabin and get far from it, where the animal would not sense her and eat comfortably. So, she left to the villa as she said: “I think you are a very shy one, yet I will get you out soon. I promise!”
At afternoon, Lydia decided to check on her new little animal. So, she left her villa out to the forest again. She was sure that time she would get it out.
Lydia was glad to have a new friend around, especially that her animals were friendly around the cabin. Which meant that it was a small and gentle animal, since they did not sense any danger from it.
After locking herself into the villa, Lydia could not meet any human beings but her family, her father’s colleagues, the delivery men, and some friends of her stepsister. She realized that humans did not amuse her after her mother had left the world, so she stayed in.
Lydia stepped towards the cabin again, however her body went frozen as her eyes bulged out wildly when she witnessed that scene.
She stared at it from a distance as she felt her hands trembling and her heart beating loudly. She did not know what she could do next. Should she freeze in her place and wait for the next move? Should she run away? Should she tell her father and the guards? Or should she act on her own and keep it as a secret?
Lydia hurried into her father’s room, she knew that he would be hiding a pistol for emergencies.
Chapter 3…… In front of the cabin, Lydia loaded her pistol and stepped carefully towards the cottage. She was scared that they might hear her loud heartbeats. Her breath was shallow and deep, she was trying to drag more air into her shivering lips. Her forehead was sweating, even if it was an afternoon of February. All of sudden, she barged hastily into the cabin, holding her pistol tightly and placing her finger on the trigger, ready to shoot at any time. She pointed the pistol to the front, as her hands were trembling and shivering. Could she be able to do it? “Do not move!!” she yelled “I will shoot!!!” She looked around her, but found no one in front. She was sure that someone would be hiding in the cabin, however she was shocked that she found no one. Frightening her, was the large pond of red fresh blood, that seemed still warm and new. She knew, then, that they were near around. Then, out of blue, a man from behind the door barged at her, wrapping his musc
Chapter 4…… Upon opening his eyes, the whole world was blurry and dark for him, he felt that he had drown into an abyss of hell. His chest was tight as if a heavy elephant was stomping on it. His wound was aching as if he was stabbed thousands of times. His body felt light and powerless as if his soul was departing from it. He could not hear. He could not see. He could not feel. “Mr. White Man…” he could hear a voice calling, trying to bring him out of his abyss “Mr. White Man… Mr. White Man… Can you hear me? If you are alive say yes, if you are dead say no! Mr. White Man!” “Who the hell is ‘Mr. White Man’?” he questioned as he felt her voice had brought him out from death. “Ahh! You are alive! You worried the hell out of me!!” “Were… Were you… Calling me ‘Mr. White Man’?” “Oh! Did you like it? I use to give names to my animals, and your hair is sooo white.” “Am… Am I an animal… To you?” “Ehe!” “Shut your ‘Ehe’ up!” “Mr. Whit
Chapter 5…… At the morning, the breakfast was prepared elegantly for Sofia and her mother, and the leftovers were offered for Lydia. The stepmother approached Lydia with a glare on her face. Her eyes were more like a predator’s, preparing to feast on her prey. Her lips turned into a wicked grin of a witch, not a mere human being. “Where have you been last night, Lydia?” she snarled, showing her grin and wide eyes. “I… I was in the woods, mother…” mumbled Lydia “In the woods you say? Huh! In the woods! What an absurd lie!” “I am… Not lying…” “How do you dare reply back??!!” SLAP!! A smack on Lydia’s face could be heard in the villa, as its voice echoed in the silent halls. The stepmother left the red traces of her hand on Lydia’s fragile, pearl-white face. Her anger with her was overaged with no reason. “Who were you with, Lydia???” screamed the stepmother “Who did you spend the night with??? Answer me now!!!” “I… I…” she murmured as
Chapter 6…… The whole scene was mesomorphic for any girl as he looked like a coiled cobra with many dangerous muscles, or like a lustful and seductive Porsche that could force anyone to eager for it. A scenery that would fascinate any woman. However, it was not his body that shocked her, because she had seen it the night before. But… Where had the wound been??! Eugene was holding the bandages in his hands, as if he had removed them a moment ago, however the wound had no trace on his body, as if it was removed alongside the bandages. Just like some sticker on his abdomen that had been ripped away. She scanned his body from up to down in search for the wound she had sewed the night before, however she could find it no where. “Eugene…” she murmured as her voice trembled “Where…” All of sudden her voice muted as she covered her mouth with the palm of her hand. She could feel nauseated staring at him, as if her stomach was churning and attacking her from the inside. S
Chapter 7…… Lydia could wake up to the fresh smell of spices and cooked meat. She opened her eyes as the world was still vague and blurry around her, however she could notice a pool od crimson blood around her. Her eyes popped open widely as her breath was caught, as if an elephant was stomping on her chest. Her body was all frozen as she sensed the still warm blood soaking her body. She could move no part of her body any inch, but rather stay still in her place. She knew it… She was killed by him… The werewolf… Her heart felt as if it had stopped as she could not take any breath in anymore, as if she had drown in a dark universe. No one could have saved her from her inner demon, raging, crying and screaming inside her mind. Her demon was only bringing back the memory of her dead mother and telling her that she was brutally slaughtered as well. Tears refused to fall from her eyes, she could not even let go the bitterness of her life. It was the moment she had realized th
Chapter 8…… “I have never been outside the walls…” she continued “Eh?” he startled as he giggled lightly, showing a dimple by the side of his lips. “Stop mocking me!!” “Why haven’t you been out ever?” “I… I was scared that someone like you would eat me…” “Eat you? Haha! Why would I?” “Are you kidding?? Because that’s what you, werewolves, do to human beings!! You are monstrous!!! Insane!! Merciless! Heartless!! How can you do so?? What do you want from us??” His gentle smile faded away into a pout as he heard her words, his face turned pale and gloomy as he silenced from uttering any other world. A not-very-old scene popped into his memory of bloodshed, fear, tears, screams and loss. “Yes! Stay silenced!!” she yelled “You are all barbaric criminals!!!” All of sudden, his eyes turned silvery and dangerous, reminding her of a beastly power that could tear her into thousands of pieces. Her glared at her with his thunderous eyes as if
Chapter 9…… Lydia kept being silent, she did not respond to him with words, but rather glared at him confidently and then changed her gaze towards her chest, where his hand was placed above. He looked towards her chest as he felt her dangerous eyes, he knew that she was hiding a trick behind her odd confidence. Then, he unbuttoned the fifth and the sixth buttons of her dress, showing more of her white elegant brassier. His eyes bulged with a shock, as his fingers stopped moving towards the seventh button. He stared at her chest for a long while, then let go of a loud laughter. The edge of a dagger was revealed from her chest, as she was hiding it inside her clothes ever since she had met him. Hastily, she snatched the dagger from her chest and unsheathed it out of its cover, to point its tip towards the abdomen of Eugene, threatening to cut at him. Obviously, he was not scared from her, however her stubbornness could make her cute and weird in his eyes, as she was curiou
Chapter 10…… A Soft, silver shining glimmer lit the villa’s windows, as the rooms were bathed in the full moonlight. The full moon hanged, shyly, in the sky like a silver coin, hiding between the stormy clouds. It cascaded its light with a romantic glow as it casted a silver veil over the room. “I… I was not with a… Anyone…” mumbled Lydia, as she felt her legs tremble and shake hastily. She was sure that her stepmother had no idea about Eugene’s presence, however her mother had the fears that Lydia would, someday, surpass her daughter, Sofia. As a result, the stepmother feared that she might have someone to love her one day. Her stepmother wanted to destroy her and prove to her father that she was a psychopath and that he should take her to psychic sanatorium, so that she could get rid of her. Sofia was pretty and gentle, had a lot of lovely friends, was well-educated and smart, and had a wealthy and handsome fiancé that wanted to marry her. Her stepmother feared that
