Chapter 2

A DEAL

...Sally...

The vibration of my phone woke me up from a deep slumber, I reached out for my purse on the floor and immediately took it out answering the call before the sound woke the man laying next to me on the bed, Robert.

"Hello" I whispered as I tried to get out of bed, when I realized I was naked, I stayed still my eyes fixed on the handsome man sleeping next to me,

"Sally, where are you, are you okay?" I heard my sister's voice ask,

"Am okay honey, I just Had to step out for a bit but I will be there soon okay", I was filled with guilt as I realized I had fallen asleep forgetting Rita was still in the hospital with no one on her bedside,

"Okay then" she said in a weak voice before the line went dead. 'Shit!' I whispered. Taking one last look at the man beside me, I tried to get out of bed but the sharp pain in between my legs reminding me of what happened a few hours back and made any haste movement almost impossible. Despite the pain, I managed to drag myself out of bed careful to not make any sound. I picked up my dress and quickly wore it before grabbing my purse, phone and shoes.

I left the room without a second glance and met the guard that had brought me up here earlier waiting, he led me outside and drove me straight to the hospital.

When I got to Rita's ward room, I found her sound asleep. My guilt intensified as I took a sit. I wasn't supposed to be gone for so long, I couldn't understand how I could be so careless as to fall asleep. With a deep sign, I reached out for Rita's hand and gently squeezed it,

"Am so sorry honey" I whispered my chest heavy with emotion. Just then, I heard a bip from my phone and reached for it, Lady Crown was calling.

I stood up going to the window side and answered the call,

"Hello"

"Sally Andrews, do you have a minute to spare?, come to my office" Lady Crown said,

"Yes, sure" I answered and hang up the call. I went to the last floor of the hospital which had Lady Crown's office.

The Crown family is one of the wealthiest Family in the whole of America, not only do they own the biggest private hospitals but they are typical Respected Billionaires. Being a medical major student, I knew almost everything there was to know about them. The Crown family consisted of the founder of The Crown hospitals, Garvin Crown. He had three sons of which two were already dead. His first son Was the husband of Diana Crown whom I was going to meet, They had three children together, Lucas, Robert and a daughter, Grace.

If anyone had told me a month ago I was going to met Doctor Diana Crown and get offered a deal by her, I would have probably thought the person was insane but then here we were.

When I discovered Rita needed to undergo an operation or she would die, I did everything I possibly could to come up with the money needed however, I couldn't manage. There was not a single person to help me. I had spent days crying myself to sleep  wondering what to do until a few days back when Lady Crown approached me,

I could still remember the conversation I had with her vividly. She had called me into her office offered to help me pay for Rita's surgery. I was more than grateful and thought this has a miracle, well at least until she told me what she wanted me to do in return.

After a light knock on the door, Lady Crown's voice could be heard as she told me to come in.

"Sally, please take a sit" she said when I got into her office

"Did you meet my son Robert?" She asked, 

"Yes i did" I replied avoiding her gaze,

"Did you sleep with him?" She further questioned, I slowly nodded. I have heard Crazy stories about the Rich but paying some random woman to sleep with your son?, I have to admit this was the first. When Lady Crown told me I had to spend a night with her son in exchange for giving me the money needed for Rita's surgery, I had thought she was joking,

I couldn't think of a reason why she had asked me to do this and now that the deed was already done, it didn't matter why anymore. I did my part of the deal and now it was time for her to do hers,

"Good" she said as she reached for her purse and brought out a cheque

"This will be more than enough for the surgery. Remember what we agreed on Sally, you signed that contract and things could go very badly for you if anyone else finds out about this", her sentence felt more like a threat to me, I didn't know if she expected I would go around telling anyone I was paid to sleep with her son. This information made me feel dirty and cheap, if anything, I was going to forget this ever happened. I took the cheque from her and stared at it,

"Thank you" I said, Lady Crown smiled at me in response

"No, thank you Sally" she said. After leaving her office, I talked to Rita's Doctor and paid the amount needed, I then went to Her ward room where I found she had woken up. When she noticed my presence, her face brightened up with a weak smile,

"Sally" she spoke softly, I went over to her hugging her tightly

"Hey Kiddo, am sorry I left you all alone, how are you feeling?" I asked touching her hair lightly

"I feel better now after seeing you" her words made my heart more heavy as I blinked away tears

"I managed to get the money needed for the surgery, you are going to be okay honey and soon, we will be able to go back home" 

"How?" Rita asked, she had been aware of how I was struggling to come up with the money before but I couldn't tell her exactly how I had managed to do so,

"Dad's old friend lent it to us, I will work my ass out and pay him back after you are okay. I want you to be better soon okay?"

"Okay" she replied smiling back at me. Looking at her right that moment, I knew everything I did was worth it after all...
