chapter 69

Two hours.

I sat outside of Elijah's office for two hours.

My back was starting to ache from sitting down for too long and not moving a muscle.

I sat there like a statue, glancing at Elijah's door once in a while.

His assistant, bless her heart, is a very nice woman, who called Elijah three more times to let him know I was still waiting for him. Yet, he never gave her a reply.

She stared at me with pity. She would open her lips to say something, but would eventually shake her head and go back to her work.

When it was time for her to take her lunch break, she offered to bring me anything, but I shook my head.

I assumed Elijah would be out for lunch, but I was wrong.

I understood that he wasn't having a meeting when I saw no one walking in or out of his office.

He's really refusing to let me in.

"Ella?" I heard Cane's voice and I looked to side as he stepped out of the Elevator.

"What are you doing here?" He asked as he looked down at me.

"I brought Elijah lunch." I signed and watch
