I stared at the closed door of our bedroom in shock.

Dropping my eyes down to my little pink notebook, I wondered what was wrong with him. It doesn't take a genius to know that something went wrong at the meeting Elijah went to, but that was not an excuse to be cold to me.

I threw my legs over the edge of the bed and stood up. Without bothering to put my shoes on, I walked towards the door and left the bedroom.

I had my notebook and pen in my hands, as I had planned to ask if he was okay.

The only place I could think of was his study. So, I went there.

When I reached his study, the door was closed, but I could see light coming out through the small gap between the door and the floor.

I stepped closer to the door and raised my right hand up. I stopped my hand mid air, wondering if I should just leave Elijah alone for the night.

I dropped my hand to my side and turned around to leave. After taking two steps away from the door, I stopped again.
