Chapter 5. Resisting Temptations

Derrick hadn't thought he would be able to resist Miranda. She was so hot; her hips had awakened something deep inside him. After returning to his bathroom, he wanted to take a bath to relax all his arousal, but then he remembered that Miranda had used his bath.

Never had he shared his bathroom with anyone before, and now a maid of lowly status dared to use both his bathroom and his sponge and soap. Derrick felt irritated and wanted to discipline the maid, but how could he report such news to his mother? His mother was already over 70 years old. What if she had a heart attack and fainted as a result of the shock?

"No, I cannot let my mother find out about this," Derrick said, enraged as his member still throbbed and ached, needing that round ass to cool it off.

"Damn it! What kind of temptation is this? I guess I should have that maid fired tomorrow morning. Isn't she the same maid who dared to beat up Melody to that extent? I see that she's on a mission here, and I will deal with her personally tomorrow."

Moving away from the bathroom door, where he had been standing and staring at his bathroom with irritation, Derrick walked over to the pristine bathtub and cleaned it thoroughly. He washed out his soap and sponge, feeling annoyed that Miranda had used them.

“Miranda,” he mused, her name lingering in his mind. “She dared to cross the line and use my belongings. I will deal with her.”

After completely cleaning his bathtub, Derrick prepared his bath and finally entered the tub. He remembered seeing Miranda naked when he opened the bathroom door.

“I shouldn’t have opened the door after hearing her voice. She has such a nice, soothing voice,” Derrick said to himself. He thought about Miranda's lovely voice and the way she moaned when he had held her cheeks to check if her head was hurt.

The softness of her skin had felt soothing to his touch.

Despite staying in the cold bath—he hadn’t bothered to mix hot water to warm it up—Derrick remembered how Miranda's cheek felt against his hand. "Her body was so soft. Damn it! I should get a girlfriend to relieve some tension. I cannot bring myself to sleep with a maid. No way, I cannot."

Waving off thoughts of Miranda at the back of his mind, Derrick finally got out of the bathtub after spending hours bathing.

The heavy rain had started to darken the night sky and flood the city streets. Derrick stood by his window, staring out at the torrential downpour.

He realized he hadn't even phoned his elder sister to confirm whether she had gotten home safely.

With a sigh, Derrick moved away from the window after shutting the curtains and closing it to prevent the rain from entering his bedroom.

He noticed that the time was already past midnight and decided against calling his sister, knowing she lived only a short distance away from their family mansion.

Walking over to his exquisite bed, Derrick picked up his body lotion from the drawer. He moisturized his body and then went into his closet to grab some sleepwear. He put on a white night robe and later climbed onto his lush bed to sleep.

As he shut his eyes, the memory of holding Miranda flooded his mind again. The weather wasn’t helping; he needed a warm body to keep him warm. He was also sweating and tossed the bedcover away, sitting up in bed.

Derrick hadn't considered having sex before. At 25, he had fewer friends, as he presumed most of them to be foes. He knew he couldn’t trust any of them. He trusted Alexa, as she had been a loyal staff member working with him for a year, and he had no issues with her.

"Is Alexa pretending to like me?" Derrick wondered. He couldn't go to a hotel to relieve himself. He was not the kind of man who indulged in watching adult content for that purpose either. He desired to have Miranda in his bed and to pleasure her, and the way his body was reacting crazily to that thought made him long to have her on his bed, lost in ecstasy.

Derrick groaned and left his bedroom for his study to busy himself, since he couldn’t sleep or think of anything else except Miranda’s nude body that he had seen.

Meanwhile, Miranda had returned to her maid's room on the lower floor of the mansion. She felt sad after remembering how Derrick had made it clear to her that she was of a lower status and that he could not have anything to do with her.

Miranda had thought that after Derrick had seen her bare, he would take her to bed.

"What was I even thinking? What if he sends me away tomorrow? Oh my God! I haven’t saved enough to start the business I want."

Miranda remembered her first salary since working in the Luis mansion after graduating from college. She had used the money they paid her monthly to help the orphanage. Later, she used the rest of her accumulated salary to purchase land in a distant area. She wanted to own a mall, a big supermarket in her name, where she would sell a lot of items.

That was five years ago, and she had an agent helping her build the mall to her specifications. She hadn’t even visited the area after purchasing the land, but she had heard from the agent that many contractors had contacted him to resell the land because they wanted to build a company there.

Miranda had heard that the land had developed and that a company was offering to pay her millions to buy it from her since it was located on the main road and in the heart of town.

The town had developed compared to five years ago, but Miranda wanted to use the land. She planned to relocate to the area after she was finished building it and establishing herself. She wouldn’t remain a servant, and she hoped to find a wonderful man to marry.

Wiping her tears away, Miranda walked over to her window to shut it, as the heavy wind had blown her curtains aside. The Luis family was benevolent and allowed the maids to have separate rooms in their magnificent home.

After closing the window, Miranda stripped off her dirty pink gown. She tried not to think about Master Derrick again, even as her heart yearned to be with him. She decided to focus on her job and on saving enough money to establish herself.

“Maybe in two years, I will be finished with my services here. Then I will move to another town to start my business.”

A satisfied smile curved Miranda's lips as she envisioned a life where she would be referred to as "Madam." She would have prayed for a man to elevate her status, but knowing how prideful men were, Miranda decided to become as prideful and arrogant as they might be once she had acquired substantial wealth.

When morning arrived, Miranda was sleeping under the bedcovers when the head maid, Juliet Colton, barged into the room and tapped Miranda roughly on the shoulder.

“Miranda! Wake up! Lady Loretta summoned you to the living room.”
