In the Luis' mansion, several maids were in the living room filled with guests and setting up a birthday party for Derrick Luis, the only son of the Luis family.
"Miranda, get the drinks from the fridge," Lady Loretta instructed. She was the matriarch of the mansion, and it was her only son's birthday.
"Okay, Ma," Miranda replied. She was a 22-year-old woman, wearing a pink dress and black shoes. It was past 6 pm when she assisted the maids in serving the guests drinks.
Many guests were already present in the Luis family mansion; among them were business partners and their family members, but the birthday boy wasn't at home.
Far away at a multimillion-dollar firm, Derrick Luis, a 25-year-old man, was still at his office when his mobile rang out.
"Hello, Mother," he picked up the call, and his mother said, "Derrick, you know that today is your birthday. So where are you?"
Looking at his wristwatch, Derrick observed it was already 6 p.m. He replied, "I am in my office, mom. What's wrong?"
"Come home quickly. It's your 25th birthday, and we did a lot just to make today a special moment to mark your new age."
"Hmm, I am not interested in birthday parties, Mom. Why can't you understand my priorities?" Derrick complained, and his mother responded sadly, "I understand. Please come home quickly before the guests start leaving. If I had known, you would stubbornly stay in the office until this time. I shouldn't have allowed you to go to work today, despite knowing that today is also your birthday."
"Mom, I cannot set work aside for a party. Who will look after my Dad's company?" Derrick demanded, and his mother replied, "You are right, but during your father's time, he never skipped home duties for work. He attended parties, or how do you think I met him?"
"Hmph," Derrick sighed and rolled his eyes at his mother's words. "Fine, Mother. I will be at home now," he said that, and the phone call ended.
"Controlling a multimillion-dollar company at my age, and my mother still wants me to prioritize parties over my work. What the heck!" Derrick mused, standing up from his office chair.
He shut down his computer, picked up his briefcase, and left his office elegantly.
When he arrived home in a brand new Prado Jeep, Derrick got out of the car as soon as his chauffeur parked.
He made his way to his family's mansion, hearing the sound of music in the air and frowned after seeing many guest cars parked inside his late father's estate.
"Hmph," Derrick sighed, arriving at the mansion's entrance. He rang the doorbell, and a maid pulled the door open.
"Welcome, Master Derrick," the pretty maid greeted him with a smile.
"Hmm," Derrick gazed sternly at the maid as he walked past her into the living room. He ignored responding to her greetings and was ushered by his mother, who was dressed in a blue dress and black shoes, in the living room, which was packed with guests.
"Welcome, son. Happy 25th birthday to you," Lady Loretta said.
"Happy birthday, Master Derrick!" The guests in the living room squealed, toasting to the new age of the young master.
"Thank you all," Derrick replied, wanting to retire to his bedroom to rest, but his mother stopped him with a gentle voice.
"Derrick, it's still your birthday celebration. Come cut your cake and make a wish."
Pausing at the staircase, Derrick glanced back at the faces of the guests. His seven elder sisters, who were married with children, and a few company staff.
Derrick wanted to protest that he was not a kid and didn't want a birthday party. However, he gulped down his protest as silence fell in the crowded hall.
He approached his cake that was placed in the center of the living room and sliced it in two. The guests beamed happily, clapping for him.
"Happy birthday, brother," his seven older sisters cheered him.
"Thank you all," Derrick replied.
"That's not all, Derrick. Make a wish." His mother urged him again.
"Oh, Mother. I am not a kid," Derrick finally protested, but his mother walked up to meet him as they were standing in the living room.
"No one said you're a kid, but you're still my baby, so make a wish," his mother pleaded with an assuring smile.
Not wanting to make his mother sad, Derrick wished for a long life, a happy family, and a prosperous business.
"Happy birthday to you again, Master Derrick; we wish you all the best," the guests squealed, praying for the young master, and they continued toasting, drinking, and chatting happily.
Derrick excused himself from the living room and went upstairs to his bedroom.
Meanwhile, among the maids was Miranda Luis. She had a crush on the house master. She was not the only one crushing on Derrick, but she couldn't take her eyes off him.
She openly gawked at his handsomeness.
"Too handsome for one person," Miranda thought.
She had observed Derrick; he seemed very hardworking.
He doesn't have time for women and is mostly focusing on his company affairs alone.
Derrick doesn't even have a girlfriend, and Miranda was dripping wet with arousal to get Derrick to notice her.
She was a poor girl and came from an orphanage home. After her years of serving the elite as a maid, Miranda wanted a better life. She did not want to return to poverty.
In the Luis villa, maids were expected to dress casually. There was no competition in the household as all the daughters of Lady Loretta Luis were married, including Derrick's immediate elder sister, Nicole Luis.
"Come on, Alexa. I want to introduce you to my brother. I fear he might be gay. Why won't he have a girlfriend at this age? Don't you find it weird?" Nicole spoke to her friend as she invited Alexa to Derrick's birthday.
Alexa works as a secretary at the Luis Group, and she would admit that she hadn't seen any young lady come to the office to visit Derrick.
"I don't think he's gay. Master Derrick is just too busy to notice any woman," Alexa replied. She wore a seductive red dress and black stilettos. She had arrived at the Luis mansion just after Derrick left the company.
Alexa Godwin was also interested in Derrick Luis. She wanted him because she was just 22 years old. She knows that having a husband like Derrick would mean she doesn't need to work much or suffer to feed herself, as his family's fortune is enough to cover all her lifetime expenses.
"What do you think of my brother, Alexa? Do you not have a crush on him? If my sisters haven't spoken to me about introducing you to Derrick to work as his new secretary after my leave, do you think I accepted you based on friendship alone? Come now." Nicole grabbed Alexa's hand and led her to the top floor, where there were no guests.
Alexa felt nervous. For a year, she had been working as Derrick's secretary based on Nicole's influence. She hasn't dared to cross the line or tried to get Derrick's attention. He was aloof and mean, and she feared what he would do to her if she dared to cross his boundaries.
When Alexa and Nicole excused themselves from the rest of the guests and went upstairs, Miranda heard their conversation as she was serving the guests drinks. But any conversations having to do with Derrick, Miranda was alert. The top floor was off-limits as Derrick hated to be disturbed by anyone, and Miranda was well aware of this. But she wanted to know what Alexa and Nicole were going to do on the top floor.Seeing how beautiful Alexa and Nicole looked in their floor-sweeping dresses, Miranda felt jealous and wished she wasn't a maid.Aside from being a maid, Miranda had gained some college education, but she couldn't resign her contract job as a maid yet. Not when she admires the most handsome man on the planet."Ouch! Watch where you're going," a female guest yelled at Miranda for stepping on her toes, causing the tray in her hands to slip, spilling the wine and staining the guest's white dress."What?! How dare you, you lowly human, stain my white dress? Do you know how much thi
Lady Loretta was dismissing the maids to clear the used plates and empty bottles, and to tidy up the living room after all the guests had left her mansion. She noticed the lady wincing in pain and alighting the staircase with great difficulty."Melody," Lady Loretta looked shocked upon seeing how Melody looked so disheveled, like she had been beaten to a stupor."What happened to you?" Lady Loretta inquired, while the maids in the living room paused to look at Melody, and they gasped at the horror at which they previously arrogant lady now look."Madam, it was one of the maids. The maid you assigned to show me to the top floor. She dealt with me." Melody managed to speak as her cheeks were visibly swollen."You mean Miranda did this to you? I don't believe it. Miranda is innocent and cannot hurt a fly. Ever since Miranda has been working here with us, she hasn't gotten into a fight with any of the maids that I am aware of. Are you sure you're referring to Miranda or another maid who d
After Derrick left his mother's room, he decided to retire back to his own room to rest. The night was chilly, and it seemed like it was going to start raining.Derrick reflected on what his elder sister had said concerning him dating Alexa. He liked Alexa, but he wanted to focus on his father's firm first and expand it to other states as well as open mini-branches all over the world.Returning to his bedroom, Derrick noticed the unfamiliar feminine scent that lingered in the air of his bedroom. Switching on the light, his deep blue eyes darkened at the sight of the lady's gown and pant he saw on the tiled floor. Not only that, Derrick heard a feminine voice whispering inside his bathroom. His room was vast and had a study room, a sitting room, a library where he studied some of his books before he graduated two years ago. Derrick also had a private gym if he did not want to go to the main gym downstairs, which he shared with his elder sisters. They were all married and had left hi
Derrick hadn't thought he would be able to resist Miranda. She was so hot; her hips had awakened something deep in him. After returning to his bathroom, Derrick wanted to take a bath to relax all his arousal, but then he remembered Miranda had used his bathtub.Derrick had not shared his bathroom with anyone before; now a maid of low status dares to use his bathroom and also his sponge and soap. Derrick felt irritated and wanted to discipline Miranda, but how would he report such news to his mother? His mother was already over 70 years old. What if she had a heart attack and fainted as a result of the shock?"No, I cannot let my mother find out about this," Derrick said. He was enraged as his member still throbbed and hurt, needing that round ass to cool it off."Damn it! What kind of temptation is that? I guess I should have that maid fired tomorrow morning. Isn't she the same maid who dared to beat up Melody to that extent? I see that she's on a mission here, and I will deal with h
"Oh!" Miranda rubbed her sleeping eyes, as she would have loved to have more wonderful dreams. However, as her big brown eyes fell on the wall clock in her room, Miranda gasped, "Oh my goodness! 10 am."The day is Saturday, but Miranda knew that Lady Loretta mostly picked on her to make her tea and to attend to her other services.Rushing out of bed without any other care in this world, Miranda quickly ran out of her maid's room, before Juliet, who shook her head with disgust.Juliet was two years older than Miranda. But Juliet was a single mother, and she hid it from the Luis family.Juliet had gotten the opportunity to work in the Luis family home after she was kicked out of her parents' home. Her parents were rich, but Juliet couldn't identify the man who had gotten her pregnant. She fell pregnant out of wedlock, and that was against her parents' standards. She had one night with a mysterious man; she knew if she saw the man again, she would identify him, but it had been 5 years,
"Derrick, come here. I would like to have a word with you," Lady Loretta said as she called her only son back. She knew that Derrick was not pleased with her actions in pardoning Miranda. However, she liked Miranda a lot, and since Miranda had not wronged her personally or done anything wrong to the other maids, she couldn't simply terminate Miranda's employment at her home.More likely, Lady Loretta had more hidden objectives. She could not just disclose her plans yet, as she had taken Miranda away from the orphanage home personally and enrolled the young woman in school. There was a time when Lady Loretta had gone to the orphanage home for one of her leisurely, kind-hearted works. There she saw the beautiful young girl, who was not happy and was mostly staring at the door.Lady Loretta knew the young girl's wish was to leave the orphanage home and go outside to the world beyond and establish herself. She never disclosed to Miranda that she was the woman behind Miranda's freedom. She
"Mother, are you listening to all that I have just said? I apologize for my words regarding the poor, but the truth remains: I don't like them. I just find them lazy people," Derrick said."No, they are not lazy, Derrick. Don't say that. It's life for you. All fingers are not equal, but they work together to assist us in doing our daily activities and achieving our goals. You shouldn't look down on anyone simply because you are privileged. It broke my heart to see that you think of lower-class families this way. How about kids without homes and parents? You were fortunate enough to have a home and family to call home, and you should not use your glory in life to rub it on other people's faces. They would not admire it, but rather think of how to destroy it and put you in such agony as them. Think of them as equals, and that's not looking down on anyone. I made a terrible mistake in my next visit to the orphanage homes and in helping the poor from the lower class. You would accompany me
Later in the evening, Miranda wore a short black dress that was above her knee length. Since the maids were not subjected to the kind of clothes that they should be wearing in the Luis mansion.Miranda mostly liked to purchase seductive wears. She knew she was beautiful, so she wanted to seize the opportunity, hoping probably one day, to have one of the affluent rich guys in the city to admire her. But after hearing Derrick's comments about how he viewed the lower-class families, Miranda only hated him and wished she could work elsewhere at least.Strolling down the garden, after Miranda was through attending to all her works in the mansion. It was Saturday evening, and Miranda was not expecting any guests to arrive at the Luis mansion. She admired the garden and wanted to take a seat there. However, she saw the mansion gate opened, and a black Ferrari pulled up into the Luis family mansion and parked.Still looking intently at the car, Miranda saw a tall man dressed in a black spar
The following day, Miranda and Derrick stepped out to go for their wedding shopping, while Oliver insisted on going with them. Miranda wore a red dress that was loose-fitting, paired with black shoes, and had her blonde hair styled in a bun. Derrick wore a blue shirt and black pants, along with black shoes. Oliver wore a similar shirt design like Derrick's, along with black trousers and black shoes. They looked adorable as they walked into the big mall, browsing beautiful wedding dresses and accessories."Welcome, sir, madam. What would you like to purchase?" the sales assistant asked."Wedding gowns," Miranda said, and the young lady clad in a white top and black skirt showed Miranda the collection of wedding dresses they had."Wow, they're all pretty," Miranda smiled as she browsed through the long white gowns beautifully displayed on mannequins."Which do you prefer?" the young lady asked with a bright smile."All of them," she joked, and the sales representative laughed."Lovely!
One week later, it was a bright, sunny Sunday, and Miranda with Oliver was set to travel to the city with Derrick. She had already packed most of her essentials and delivered them to the city. What was left for her was to carry her last box, filled with her clothes and also Oliver's clothes. Most of her cars had been sent to the city as well, but she didn't intend to sell her house or close down her shop. Getting married to CEO Derrick Luis didn't mean that she should discard all her hard work. The sound of a car honking at her gate disrupted her thoughts. Wearing a pink floral dress and plain black shoes, Miranda walked out of her house and approached the black gate to find out who was there. She planned to rent the house once she completely moved out and settled in the city. She had dismissed her gate man, but the estate gatekeeper was still present.Upon reaching the gate, she pulled it open after confirming who was there."Derrick," she smiled, opening the gate for his driver to e
THE NEXT SUNDAY MORNING..Derrick was in Miranda's room, and he spoke to her about her business."Babe, you know that as we're getting married, we will need to know more about our businesses. To follow me to my company and also, make our business jointly together," Derrick said. He lay on the bed, watching Miranda brushing her teeth, as he finished speaking to her about his father's company."That's nice. There's nothing much about mine. You know, I was thinking about it. I won't be able to keep in touch with them here if I go with you. So can we open another branch in the city, while we base there?" she asked him, as she finished brushing her teeth in the bathroom."That's fine. I haven't considered that before. But we need to expand our business to more states," Derrick said.Miranda smiled and joined him on the bed after she was through brushing her teeth. She hugged him and kissed him directly on his lips."Babe, I'm discussing with you about our business, and all your focus is on
"Welcome," Miranda told Derrick as she hugged and kissed him lightly on his lips."Welcome, Dad," Oliver said, and Derrick smiled at him. "Thank you."They entered the house together and made their way to the couch."What's the delicious smell? Is your chef around?" Derrick asked about Emily, and Miranda blushed."No, Emily isn't my chef but my friend. Her mother works for me though, so I took her like my sister," she said, leading Derrick to the dining table, and he smiled as he settled on a chair beside her.Oliver took his seat beside Derrick, and Miranda stood beside Derrick and set his meal in front of them. She walked up to meet Oliver and placed his meal in front of him before she went to sit across from Derrick."How do you see the meal? It's my first time officially cooking," she blushed, observing Derrick's and Oliver's faces as they prepared to taste the food."Um, it's yummy, Mom," Oliver beams and smiled."It's nice," Derrick commented, and Miranda smiled at them and resp
When Derrick arrived in the city, he went home, getting the notification from Lady Stephanie that his mother was at home.As he arrived home, he walked into the house happily. "Mom!" Derrick rushed to meet her and hugged her.Lady Loretta sat on the couch and smiled as Derrick hugged her warmly. She knew he was in a good mood and had heard he went to meet Miranda."Welcome back, Mom," Derrick said, and his mother replied calmly, "Thank you. You look so happy. How are Miranda and Oliver doing?""They are fine, Mom," Derrick said, still smiling, and that made his mother look relieved."I am happy to hear that. It's good to see that she has forgiven you. So when did you both plan to marry?" Lady Loretta asked."Soon," Derrick said, standing up from the couch. "I will propose to her, I have lovely plans for that. So don't worry."Lady Loretta smiled, looking at Derrick's handsome face. "Okay," she agreed."I have to go upstairs and freshen up. How is your health now, Mom?" He looked at hi
Once Derrick and Oliver were in the room."Would you like to bathe?" Derrick asked his son."No, Dad. I am tired," Oliver replied and went to his bed to sleep."How do you see my room, Dad?" Oliver asked as he went to climb on his bed happily."It's beautiful and handsome like you. A typical boy's room," he replied and saw his son smile."Mom helped me to furnish it and buys a lot of game toys for me," he said, grinning from cheek to cheek."That's so sweet of her. I am sorry that I wasn't there with you before. But I promise to set up a bigger room for you in the city, okay," Derrick said as he moved over to his son's bed to meet Oliver.Oliver sat up on the bed and took off his socks."Okay, Dad," he replied and went to lay on the bed and drift to sleep.Derrick looked around his son's room, feeling guilty for being absent in his son's life. He finally walked up to cover him up with his small blanket, careful not to make any noise that would awake Oliver. After that, he turned off t
Derrick's car arrived at a fancy restaurant, and they got out of the car and went into the Restaurant building together. Miranda was nervous to be in the same space as Derrick. This was the first time that he was taking her out on a date.Derrick requested a private spot, and he was taken away with Miranda to the Restaurant's private section.Derrick could see that Miranda appeared nervous. He smiled at her and considered in his mind to get her a lovely wedding ring and to propose to her. But he wasn't confident to propose to her in a restaurant.Miranda sat down first, before Oliver and Derrick, as there were only three chairs surrounding a table where they sat."What would you like to have?" Derrick inquired. Miranda picked up the menu and replied, "Just chicken pepper soup is okay."She looked at her son and asked him, "What would you like to have, Oliver?""The same, Mom," Oliver smiled. He was happy that his parents were together."Okay, bring the same request for me too," Derric
Derrick looked from Miranda to Larry as Larry walked out of the house with a smirk."Good morning, Mr. Luis," Larry greeted Derrick, extending his hand for a handshake.Derrick looked at Larry's open right palm, not wanting to accept his hand. However, upon seeing Miranda looking at him, Derrick finally shook hands with Larry."You should consider yourself lucky that she chose you over me. Congratulations," Larry smirked and waved goodbye to Oliver. He walked away to his car while Derrick shifted his gaze and looked at Miranda.Miranda blushed as she watched Larry get into his car and drive off."What were you doing with him?" Derrick asked as he moved closer to meet Miranda by the door frame, just as Larry's car drove out of her residence."Mom!" Oliver let go of Derrick's hand and rushed to hug his mother, as he was also surprised to see Uncle Larry in his mother's house. Although Oliver knew they were friends, he didn't suspect anything bad."We are friends. So he came around to se
Derrick wasn't pleased that Miranda didn't respond to him after he had woken from his sleep and checked his phone for any possible missed calls. He decided to have his bath, bathe Oliver, and they dressed up in black suits, preparing to visit the local town. "Dad, where are we going to?" Oliver inquired as Derrick dressed him up in the room, combing his son's black hair. "We are going to see your Mom, and my company too," Derrick's reply was short, but Oliver giggled "Yay!" Oliver excitedly walked out from the room with Derrick, and they made their way downstairs. "Good morning, Aunt," Derrick greeted Lady Evelyn, who was around and wearing a white nightdress. She was a chubby woman and very tall in height. "Derrick, where are you and Oliver heading to? I almost forgot that you are controlling Dad's company. Because you're always at home," said Lady Evelyn. She sat on a chair at the dining table. Derrick smiled as he led Oliver to settle on their seat. "I just wanted to t
