"We're doomed!" Aaron mumble as he leans forward on his office desk with his hands on both sides holding himself up.

Great' I thought and I glance at Eric who is watching outside the window. I could see him frown and he was a little bit angry. I drag my gaze to see the other three sitting there in their seat like statues.

Okay, am I going to be in trouble? I ask myself and gulp my saliva nervously. 'Say something,' urges Eliz through our link but I block her out again as I can't focus and don't know how to ease the tension in the room. 'What am I supposed to do? Okay, let me try' I thought and parted my lips to speak.

"We last saw each other near the Blood Moon pack," I slowly told them the truth and regretted it the moment I hear groans and cussing from the three statues in the room. Aaron frowned at me which made me heave my shoulder and ignore him.

"And that was four years ago," Eric replied without looking my way.

"True, but you're not getting my point here," I interject and all

"Alpha Zeus." Eric shifted and greeted him followed by Aaron. Eliz giggles and fans herself with her paws before we turn to the other side. My eyes hurt and I regret looking at something I am not supposed to see. Something that I avoid seeing between Zeus's legs. 'Ahhhh our poor innocent eyes' I pouted and Eliz laughs in my face. I turn away shutting our eyes. These men thought that my wolf and I must have seen tons of their private parts but the truth is this is the first time we saw the male glory that people talk about. Great! Just Great! I open my eyes again to see if they're still naked and thank the moon goddess some of them are already cover-up. Taking a look around us, we saw one of the pack members handing out clothes. I moved toward her to fetch some clothes. She smiles when saw us. "Hello, sorry you had to see so many naked men around," she said, handing me a pair of shorts and a black t-shirt. "Thank you," I howl in an appreciative tone which made her smile even more.

Two days passed since the unwelcome feeling by Eric and Zeus. Despite not wanting to be around them, unfortunately, I have to and we have been doing the same thing over and over again. We have been digging into information about the hunters and rogues. However, everything seems to be on loose ends. We came with nothing at all. Most of the time I felt like there was no use for me to be there. They may have wanted me to help find Jea but I can't help but think that Jea may not be the reason why I'm here with them.Called it intuition but those feelings are never wrong and I cannot wait for the day the truth came out. This whole thing is making me anxious every day.The opening of the poster by Zeus in front of Eric and Aaron snaps me out of my crazy thoughts. "So they are handing out a reward for those who have info on the werewolves that killed their men. We need to be careful as there will be traitors in here and out there," he warns them before passing the poster around to Lucian, Con

  • A Mate For The Latecomer   Chapter 26: Everybody Talks

I put a hand to my beating heart while Eliz continues to laugh at me for being too sure with the boys. I ignore her laughter and made my way to the front door of the house. I know Aaron forbids me not to go anywhere without his approval but he is not my Alpha and, I want to take a walk. I almost made it to the door when I collided with an elderly woman. She struggled to balance herself making her fall down. I quickly apologize and help her up. "I am sorry madam." "It's alright dear," she said as tried to reach for the basket on the floor that is filled with a white cloth. "Let me," I said and reached out for it instead. "Wow, it's kind of heavy" I mutter and lift it with my hands. The old madam stretches her back before she politely asks me to hand it over."I can help carry it for you" I suggested because not only did I feel bad for her but she reminded me of my late grandparents. I wasn't joking when I said the basket is heavy."Who are you?" she curiously asks me."Just an unwant

  • A Mate For The Latecomer   Chapter 27: Not Again

I am halfway through to the packed ground when I hear strange voices. Oh moon goddess, don't tell me that ghosts are also talking about me. I groan and am about to turn around to go where I came from. However, Aaron who is running in my direction made me stop on my track."Is he going to kill me because I said that he should smile often?' I ask myself and at the same time, my heart starts to beat furiously. I swear it's going to pop out of my chest. 'No' I shook my head and move back. Aaron got closer and instead of killing me. My legs suddenly swoop off in the air as his two arms hold me tight, carrying me with the speed we make it to the pack house in a second. He puts me down gently as I try to catch my breath. "What the hell was that for?" I shouted at Aaron who disappeared into the pack house. I watch as other wolves howl in the air before running into the woods led by Conrad.Okay, don't tell me we're under attack again. I tried to steady my uneven breathing. I look around and se

  • A Mate For The Latecomer   Chapter 28: What A Friend!

"Oh moon goddess, how lovely to see you here," she said, leaning her back on her seat. She greets everyone until her eyes settle on me. I can tell that she is not the woman I used to be friends with anymore."Oh poor thing I didn't know you're here," she said to me with those eyes full of mockery. "The last time we talked was two years ago. Am I right?" she added while tapping her finger on her temple as if she were thinking. "Hmmm, I heard you told everyone we're best friends."Her words hit homerun and for a second I wanted to leap up and punch her in the face but I decided to sit there waiting for her to finish with whatever childish play she wants to brag about. It's a shame that I always considered her my best friend when she reminds me so much of Serena. The innocent, fun, honest, and good Jea that I used to know is now replaced by the witch Jea as her powers prevail. Oh yes and thanks to her that I now have caught everyone's attention again and I am growing to enjoy it a lot.

Her hands were lifted in the air with her lips moving, chanting a different language. The sky started to get dark as if a storm is about to strike.Jea's eyes went up, their color changing before it looked clouded. Suddenly strong winds blew which made everyone cower and try to hold on to anything nearby them. So, that they can hold their feet on the ground instead of being blown away by the wind. I crouch down digging my claws in the dirty ground. When it's gone I retracted my claws and dust off the dirt before standing straight with my hands on both sides. I felt my hand being squeezed by someone and I quickly glance to my right side to find Zeus smiling at me. Eliz flinched and I roll my eyes at him and tried to shake his hand away. However, the douche held on to my hand so tight. I pray for no one to notice but Lucian glance back at me and once he sees my hand linked with Zeus he switches his gaze between the two of us. I raise my brow at him and he rapidly turns his attention ba

"Move your leg," Conrad says and tries to push them off the chair in front of me. I shut my werewolf romance book that I was reading and glared up at him."Can't you take another one?" I reply.I can't believe this guy loves to pester me and Eliz. Ever since Aaron took me back to his pack, his Beta wouldn't leave me alone. He always likes to annoy me."Nope!" he pops the p sound and adds on, "I love this chair since the day I set my eyes on it."I scoff at him and put off my legs. However, before he gets the chance to sit on it I kick the chair to the other side. Conrad fell onto the floor and I try to hold in my laughter. It's his turn to glare at me."Oops, my bad but you can have it," I said with a smirk. His glare hardens but I just shrug it off. I move my legs to rest on the next couch and only to rest them on Aaron's lap who just happens to sit on it at the same time. I groan in irritation and try to remove my legs from his lap but he held them there. Aaron and I have become clo

Numb and sore are the only feelings I felt right now.My eyes slowly open, trying to adjust to the bright rays of the light coming through the window. When I successfully open them up, I slowly sit up straight on the bed and take a deep breath while biting my lip as I feel pain in my back. I stay there for a bit to let the pain fade before I turn to the side and force myself to get out of bed.I only stop when I see a fresh jug of water and breakfast already placed on my nightstand beside the bed. Feeling thirsty, I pour a glass of water and gulp it in one go. I ignore the pain in my back and push myself to stand up. Once when I am steady and okay I make my way to the bathroom.Sometime afterward, I clutch the sink on both sides while staring at my reflection in the mirror. 'You look like a train ran over you' Eliz laughs in my head.'And you sounded like the bitchy Claire' I deadpan and she let out a groan before responding, "don't compare me to that tramp." "If you say so," I tease

After 3 decades the moon goddess finally granted Eric's last dying wish. She has been watching his soul day by day as he works to mend for his own mistakes and sins in her hidden dimensions where only she can see through. She was satisfied with the way he has taken things and how remorseful he was with everything that has been happening. On a red full moon, for the first time in the history of werewolves, the sky pierced and four souls were reborn again, with the same features in the same world. The moon goddess has frozen the time and has taken everything back to where it was. It was as if she was playing a video where you keep hitting the replay button. We have been running in the woods, Eliz felt it refreshing since we haven't shifted when we were in the humans’ realm. We cross our border and made it to another territory probably Eric's. Then we continue to walk before we reach his. Aaron wants us to talk to the place where we first met.The first question I ask him as we walk was "How's everyone doing?" and he told me that they were all okay. Conrad has found his mate and Jay has moved with his mate since she's a Beta's daughter of another pack. So Zeus’s pack is now combined with his and now he's the Alpha. We talk about other random stuff about how my life in the human realm was and how I had to cope with everything until we reach that spot again. I pick up from our conversation that he never mentioned anything about Claire so I decided to ask him. I was thinking maybe he didn't want to since it could make things awkward."How's everything with Claire?"Aaron stopped this time and he turn

Eric was wrong when he said that I could love freely and move on from the past. A part of me was still stuck there not moping in losing or never having a Mate but for the fact that life wasn't fair for all. Yet we cannot blame life itself as it is also our fault for being selfish.I stood there as his pack warriors lowered the casket down, Alphas and betas from other packs stood by it. They have come to pay tribute to the warriors and the Alpha of Daluna for their bravery.Aaron was nowhere in sight even Claire, the fake bitch was busy pretending to be miserable in her room. She wanted to earn everyone's pity and sympathy while deep down inside she wanted Aaron to be there for her, to take another chance. It must have been so good to have two people who fought over her, it must have been good to her for having a backup to a happy life-ending.I watch as one of the elders concluded the sermon and then one by one Alpha, Betas and the attendees left. Lucian came up

"I remember the first time I saw you," he says as he holds on to my hand. "You're everything I could ever wish and want to have. It was the first time I agreed with my wolf on something," his lips curved in a smile as if he is reminiscing that day."I want to be the best mate but then I couldn't. I just couldn't turn everything around. It wasn't fair for you Elle." I try to pull my hand away from his but he held it tight. "Please at least hear me out," he begs me."No Eric I can't. I... I...I don't think I can" I stutter as I tried to tell him not to go there with my tears almost bursting from my eyes. However, he pleaded with me to hear him out. Therefore, I ended up staying with him in his room.Eric raised his body and I try to help him but he stops me. "I can do it, Elle," he says as he leans his back against the bed's headboard. He took my hand and then made me sit in front of him. His hand reaches out and caresses my cheek. He touches me as if he is scared that I might break

  • A Mate For The Latecomer   Chapter 37: Truth

I lay on my bed with my hands on my stomach and eyes staring at the darkness of my room. It had been a while since I woke up and instead of walking around, I stay right there on my back with thoughts running through my head.I had blocked Eliz because I didn't want her to pester me to see Eric. Right now, I want to enjoy this peace before facing another storm. I didn't want to have hopes for my mate as our fate had been doomed before I even came into his life. However, what I want to do is to tell him that I am thankful and that I have forgiven him for everything. It's a good plan for moving forward and for my peace. When I have enough time of thinking, I pull off the sheet from my body and stood up to turn on the lights. I then went to the bathroom to wash my face, letting my barricade with Eliz break. I then tie up my black hair in a ponytail and for the first time, I look better. Actually, I feel better.I stood there watching my reflection. It's like I'm looking at a new me. Eliz

  • A Mate For The Latecomer   Chapter 34: Traitors

The news of Cascarade Pack being wiped out by rogues and hunters made me feel so many different emotions and I am drowning inside. I shouldn't feel this way for them, however, the bad deeds done by others do not define the innocent people and young pups that were living in the Cascarade pack.It was hard to understand how the massacre happened and why we were never being informed about it but when Jay explains to us what happened we then understood. He told us that the Cascarade Pack was attacked on the same day, and the rogues tried to kidnap me. It was a surprise attack that no one was prepared for it and so none of the neighboring and allied packs were informed. The wounded warrior that was carried in here, is the only survivor that has been on the runs from the rogues and hunters for days.I can imagine the horror the warrior went through and I hope he survives as his condition is too critical at the moment. "Jea created the barrier but how did the hunters make it through?" Aaron
