She was too quick to forgive me, and it gave me cause for concern. It was obvious that Megan got annoyed by those girls at the party, especially since she was the one who defended me.

I knew she was going to punish me, but I didn’t know her punishment was going to come in two forms. The first one was, however, more annoying than the second one, but both were equally significant to the change in my life.

That fateful day, Megan took me to her room for some unknown reason, and when she pushed me in, I found my mother waiting inside.

“Charles, we need to talk,” she said.

I glared at Megan angrily. “What is this?”

She shrugged nonchalantly. “What do you think it is? Talk to your mother; I’m done pretending to be okay with the tension between you two.”

With that, she walked out the door. I instantly wheeled myself to the door but discovered that it was locked from the outside. “Megan! Open this door right now!” I demanded.
