“Megan, I love you!” Charles yelled, stopping me dead in my tracks.

I snapped my head to him, shock in my swift movement. “What did you say?”

Charles rolled his wheelchair to me, his eyes filled with emotions. “I said I love you, Megan.”

“Charles.” I breathed shakily. “Where is this coming from?”

He pointed at his chest, the spot specially for his heart. “It is coming from here. The one that beats recklessly for you. I’m so sorry for not telling you the truth all this while. It was because I was scared…”

“Scared of what?” I asked, but that was not what I should be asking. Was this a prank? Was I getting catfished? Was Charles trying to prank me? Because this was all too hard to believe.
