~Lucienne~
I whipped my head to the back, to see who was holding the huge log of wood used to hit him.
"Did you really think you could run from me, Lucienne?" His cruel voice filled my ears again and I unconsciously began to tremble.
“Daniel?”
“Yes, mate. It's me. Your one and only!” He chuckled, placing the log of wood on his shoulder now. “Did this fucker think he could take you from me?” He scoffed, looking at the man's unconscious body, lying just in between the driver and me. “Anyways he's learned his lesson and now, over to you. What did you want to do? To leave me? Your one and only fated mate?”
“N-no,” I stammered, trying to move away but my legs were practically paralyzed due to the accident so they refused to move.
“No? But you clearly told my father you wanted to be with him. Now tell me, Lucienne, is that how much you despise me?”
Although the answer was pretty clear, I despised him very, very much but I dare not say that.
“Answer me, Lucienne!” He demanded, and I flinched before opening my mouth to say no, to say anything that would at least force him to calm down but nothing was working.
He threw the log aside, and picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder like a bag of rice. “By the time I'm done with you, other men wouldn't even be an option for you.”
As Daniel hoisted me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, I felt a surge of fear and helplessness engulf me. His grip was tight, his strides determined, and I knew I had to beg for mercy. If not, fifty-four punishments were just the tip of the iceberg.
"Please Daniel, put me down!" I begged, pounding my fists against his back, but it was futile. His pace only quickened, and soon we were out of sight from the wreckage of the stranger's car.
"Where are you taking me?" I screamed, the panic rising in my voice.
"To where you belong," he replied coldly, his tone sending shivers down my spine.
I squirmed and wriggled, but his hold remained firm. My mind raced with thoughts of escape, of finding a way out of this nightmare, but with each passing moment, it seemed more and more hopeless.
He bundled me into his car this time and drove off. Finally, we reached our destination, a secluded building hidden by the woods, far from prying eyes and any residential area. Daniel tossed me onto the bed with little regard for my well-being, causing pain to shoot through my already battered body.
"Lucienne, you thought you could just walk away from me? You thought you could embarrass me then some stranger could take you from me?" His voice was venomous, filled with a possessiveness that sent shivers down my spine. “Or you think leaving me would end your suffering? No, Lucienne, your fate is tied to mine. You belong to me, and no one else. The Moon Goddess made sure of that!"
He grabbed me forcefully, pulling me up. My legs wobbled beneath me, weakened from the accident. I stumbled, but he held me in an iron grip. "You'll learn your place, Lucienne. You can't escape what destiny has written for you.”
His words sent a chill down my spine, and I realized the gravity of my situation. Daniel wasn't just a possessive lover; he was a dangerous force that I couldn't easily break free from no matter how much I tried. It was like the saying "till death do us part" even though I never wanted to be stuck with or to him.
“It's time you learn that every one of your actions comes with consequences. Now stay put," he ordered, his voice dripping with malice, before storming out of the room and slamming the door shut behind him.
Alone and terrified, I curled into a ball, tears streaming down my cheeks. How had my life spiraled out of control so quickly? From a night of humiliation at the hands of my mate and brothers to being forcibly taken by the very man I had tried to escape, it felt like a nightmare from which I couldn't wake up.
Minutes passed in pain due to my aching and bleeding body, the only sound was the creaking of the old cabin and the distant chirp of birds. I prayed for a miracle, for someone, anyone, to come and rescue me from this hell.
I waited for minutes and although my prayers were answered, I wasn't sent the person I desperately wanted to see.
“I need her to be in good condition within twenty-four or less. I don't care how you do it!” Daniel barked at the doctor while pointing at me.
The doctor looked at me with concern, his eyes briefly revealing a mix of sympathy and helplessness. "Crown Prince, I'll do my best, but healing takes time," the doctor replied cautiously, avoiding direct eye contact with Daniel.
"I don't care about time. I care about results," Daniel retorted, his tone unwavering. “Do as you're told, or your family gets it, okay?”
The doctor nodded and then approached me, his movements slow and deliberate. His gaze shifted from my trembling form to the bruises and cuts that adorned my body. "I need to examine her properly. If you could give us some privacy..." he suggested, trying to maintain a professional demeanor.
Daniel shot him a menacing look but eventually left the room, leaving me alone with the doctor. As the door closed behind him, the doctor sighed, a mixture of fear, sympathy, and frustration evident on his face. I wanted to ask him to help me but seeing that Daniel had already threatened to harm his family, I couldn't bring myself to add to his troubles.
Once he had finished treating my injuries, the doctor gathered his supplies and prepared to leave. I lay on the bed, my body still sore and aching from the ordeal I just endured. The events of the past few days replayed in my mind like a broken record, each memory a painful reminder of the nightmare I desperately wanted to escape.
Suddenly, the door creaked open, and Daniel entered the room, carrying a tray of food. My heart skipped a beat as fear gripped me once again, my instincts screaming at me to flee.
But there was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. I was trapped, at the mercy of a man whose intentions I couldn't begin to fathom.
"Here," Daniel said brusquely, setting the tray down beside me. "You need to eat."
I recoiled instinctively, my stomach churning with fear and revulsion. "I-I'm not hungry," I stammered, my voice barely audible.
Daniel's expression hardened, his eyes flashing with anger. "You will eat," he growled, his tone leaving no room for argument. "You need to regain your strength."
I shook my head, my hands trembling as I pushed the tray away. "I can't," I whispered, the words catching in my throat. "I'm okay.”
For a moment, Daniel's steely exterior softened, his gaze flickering with something akin to regret. But it was gone in an instant, replaced once again by the cold, merciless facade I had come to know every day of my life.
"Eating wouldn't stop your pending punishments, Lucienne. It would only postpone them and the doctor's family would have to suffer too. You know I wouldn't hurt you…" he began, his voice low and dangerous. "...unless you deserve it. But if you refuse to eat, I can't guarantee my anger won't lead to another punishment."
“Why are you doing this?” I wanted to ask but I swallowed it instead as tears welled up in my eyes. I stared at him, my heart pounding with fear and uncertainty. Even if I was going to eat the food, Daniel feeding me wasn't an option. What if he pushes the spoon deep into my throat or worse? I couldn't put that past him.
"Still not going to eat?" Daniel thundered, then dropped the tray aside. "Fine! It seems you have a lot of energy. Stand up and strip! I have a lot of things I plan on doing to you now that you've made me ditch the ceremony at the arena."
~Lucienne~“What?!” My response came with multiple blinks. “No!” I immediately yelled out my refusal to strip or do anything related to that. “I'll eat,” I begged softly, trying to swallow the bile in my mouth. “Then do it!” He snapped at me. I reluctantly reached for the tray, my hands trembling as I picked up a piece of bread. Every bite felt like swallowing stones, my throat constricting with each swallow. But I forced myself to eat, knowing that defying Daniel would only lead to more suffering. As I ate, Daniel watched me intently, his eyes never leaving my face. There was a glint of satisfaction in his gaze as if my compliance reaffirmed his control over me. It made my skin crawl, but I pushed aside my disgust and focused on finishing the meal, although I decided to take my precious time doing it. Finally, I set the empty tray aside, feeling a mix of relief and nausea churning in my stomach. Daniel nodded approvingly, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips."Good girl," he s
~Lucienne~“I'm talking to you, Lucienne. Where are you headed?” He asked again and I gulped, wondering if I should make a run for it despite my condition or turn around and try to reason with him. Realizing a battered wounded omega like me can't outrun someone so strong, a weak sigh escaped my lips and I turned around to meet him, Gamma Ezekiel, my elder brother. “Is it until you die you realize running away isn't an option for you, sister?” Ezekiel's usual question came and as usual, I didn't give him a response. “You know what, today, I won't stop you from leaving. But if you want to die, at least make it a good one, not a death from angry uncontrollable rogues who want revenge. The pack's satisfaction would be missing if that happens.”“Then kill me already,” I rolled my eyes, sick of hearing the same thing over and over again. If they wanted to punish me, they should do it. Living with the consequences of what happened was enough torture already. “The decision is not in my hand
~Lucienne~Screams, bubbles, fear of losing another family member and many more surrounded me as I struggled for air deep down inside the waters. I kicked my legs, tried to hold my breath, and did everything I could think of but the invisible boulder only pushed me further down into the water, depriving my lungs of air and me, the chance to see if my brother made it out of that rogue ambush, alive. “It's all my fault,” I thought to myself as I slowly lost the strength to fight, causing me to surrender. “If I had just quietly gone back, Ezekiel wouldn't have taken me to the border. If I had gone back in, he wouldn't have cut me and the rogues wouldn't have traced my blood. It's all my fault. And now because of me, another wolf or more would die…”A sharp pain from somewhere on my neck forced me to jolt awake, my eyes and mouth opened widely as I gasped for breath and poured a ton of water from my insides while I placed my hand on the tingling area. It was all blurry at first, but my v
~Lucienne~“No,” I mumbled, as the nurse's words sank in. I found myself taking a step back due to the shock I was feeling and the constant zapping of the mate mark. The man Daniel had ambushed, the one I had come to see, was gone. I stood frozen in place, my mind struggling to comprehend the reality of the situation. Guilt gnawed at my insides, knowing that his death was partly my fault. Partly? It was fully my fault. I could have refused to go with him, and maybe he would've lived to see another day but because of my selfishness, another life was taken.Overwhelming sadness washed over me, mingling with the pain of my own injuries and the burden of my guilt. Tears welled up in my eyes, threatening to spill over, but I blinked them back.I nodded numbly, thanking her for the information before turning away from the door. Ezekiel, who must have heard it all, watched me with concern as I returned to his side, his eyes holding all the words he could ever say. “Stop trying to run!”Witho
~Lucienne~“And so?” Came Daniel's reply that sent my jaw falling to the ground. Did he just say 'and so?' After killing a living being?“You really need to cut your pride, Prince. Meet me or I'll send the video to your father. Or maybe to the whole pack,” the automated voice replied and Daniel let out a grunt.“Location?”“I'll send it to you when you begin the journey. See you soon, Prince,” the voice said and hung up. I expected Daniel to curse, yell, or get furious but instead he laughed, a laugh I hadn't seen in a long time and I guess I now knew what it meant.“Like I said Lucienne, the plan of you and the universe will crumble. I will have you, no matter what. But for now, I have to go teach a mouse a lesson,” he chuckled and grabbed his shirt before snapping the key from my trembling hands.“Watch the videos to the end Hun, I'd need a blow job once I'm back,” he whispered to my frozen self before heading out and immediately the door locked, I fell to the ground, tears pouring d
~Lucienne~“Not that,” I mumbled, my body unconsciously taking a step back as I zoned out. There I was, surrounded by the bodies, the fire, the screams, the tears and blood on the faces of those around me, my calls for my family. Everything came rushing back and I could feel every inch of my body tremble. “Stop,” I heard myself shout, closing my ears to drown out the sound of agony but they were coming in full force. My legs were weak but they refused to crumble because I was in a pool of blood, the blood of my people, of my Father's pack, my former pack. “Lucienne!” Daniel's voice and a zap of the mate mark snapped me out of the past and I found myself mute, unable to hear his questions or answer them. Almost immediately, I was back at the scene and it was just me, standing in a pool of blood, hearing the cries of men and children, asking why I did it, asking why I took their happy life from them. Even my parents on their death bed looked at me and asked the same question but all I
~Lucienne~As I watched the crimson beads trickle down my arms, I looked back at the broken piece of the mirror, a lovely and contented smile gracing my lips while a strange sense of calm washed over me, numbing the pain and filling me with a quiet resolve. With each cut, I felt the weight of my suffering begin to lift as if I were shedding layers of my old self along with the blood that stained my skin. But just as I started to feel the pull of unconsciousness tugging at the edges of my mind, a sharp rap at the bathroom door shattered the fragile peace I had found.“Lucienne, open this door right now!” Daniel's voice was filled with fury, echoing off the tiled walls of the small bathroom.Ignoring his demands, I pressed the shard of glass deeper into my flesh, willing myself to bleed faster, to escape this nightmare once and for all. But the pain was a cruel reminder that I was still very much alive, trapped in a body that seemed determined to cling to life no matter how much I begge
~Daniel~First ring, second ring, third ring, I still didn't pick up the damn phone. No one threatens me! No one at all! So I wouldn't give an obsessed fucker the joy of seeing me scared. If he wants her, he should face me like a real man. “Prince, it's ready,” The voice of the earlier nurse snapped me out of my thoughts and I simply nodded before standing. Just immediately, I heard a moan, from Lucienne no doubt, causing me to turn around. Whether she was having a nightmare, I didn't care but I wanted her out of whatever it was and here, with me. The second she opened her eyes, I removed the oxygen mask from her face and then gave her the hardest slap I could muster at that point. The shock and fear in her eyes filled me with more than enough joy. “What were you thinking trying to kill yourself?” I barked, not caring about the tears building in her eyes! “I need answers.”“Nothing?” I asked after a few seconds of silence then nodded. “ Come in here,” I ordered the nurse and she d
~Lucienne~Olivia's words sent a shiver down my spine, her anger still simmering beneath the surface despite her attempt at an apology.
