JAMES POV.

I was already expecting this, an explosive response from Cecilia. This was what I wanted to trigger her, to provoke her and make her see that I didn't just keep quiet after seeing her out of her cell.

“Are you out of your mind James?” her voice was thick with anger.

I smiled inwardly, unshaken by her sudden outburst. “I'm not, my lady, all I'm saying is that—”

“to hell with what you are saying, James” she cut me off. “how dare you tell me to return to the cell”

I sighed, making sure to stand my ground, and not waver by her mere outburst. “Your arrest was Ezekiel's order, and I serve Ezekiel, he is the alpha of this pack, my alpha and also yours, you being out of your cell simply means going against the alpha's order, and you know what that means”

Cecilia frowned, her brows furrowed with anger “and what does that mean, James?”

I muttered with a serious face. “That means you have committed a crime. Which means you would have to be punished, regardless of guru title or p

JAMES POV“James—w-what the hell?” Roy stammered, struggling against my grip. His fingers clawed at my wrist, but I didn’t let go.I pulled him into a secluded corner, away from the prying eyes of the other patrons, and when I was clear, I slammed him against the wall. The impact rattled the bottles on a nearby shelf, making a few clink together.Roy gasped, his hands pressing against my forearm as he tried to push me away. “James, what—”I cut him off, my voice stern. “Start talking.”His breathing was uneven at this point, his pulse hammering so hard I could see it through the skin of his neck. “W-what are you talking about?” he stammered, his voice laced with fear. .I narrowed my eyes. “Don’t play dumb with me, Roy. I saw you in the conference room today. With her.”His lips parted slightly, but no words came out. He knew exactly who I was talking about.“C-Cecilia?” he finally muttered.I slammed him against the wall again, harder this time. “Damn right, Cecilia.” My voice was lo

JAMES’ POV Auren and Lydia were yet to be back, what was holding them?. It was just fishing and nothing else, they should have been back by now. I ran my hands through my hair, grinding my teeth together,I shouldn't have allowed them to go alone, I should have gone with them, that was the only way I could guarantee their safety. I raised my head up to look at the sky, the sun was already low in the sky, painting the sky with a warm orange and red hue which traveled far across the horizon. Right now, I was standing outside the pack house, arms crossed over my chest, watching as the treetops sway in the evening breeze. My mind traveled to earlier that morning, when Lydia and Auren were making plans to go fishing, I could remember how Auren laughed excitedly about catching the biggest fish in the river. This was his first time fishing and now the sun was setting and they still weren't back. What is actually happening? Lauren's first time shouldn't be like this. Auren was just a chi

JAMES’ POV. “No!” I growled, shoving another attacker aside before twisting to grab the rogue holding Lydia. I yanked him backward, slamming him into a tree. He crumpled to the ground, groaning.I moved backwards, with my back to Auren and Lydia, my eyes locked on the five rogues in front of me. The cold night stung at my skin as I stood there, at this point I knew I needed to remain calm, my breathing was shallow and steady now. The dense forest surrounding us was thick with its large canopy of leaves blocking out most of the moonlight. Ofcourse it was already night time. The moonlight, shown brightly on the faces of the men. “Lydia,” I whispered, turning my head slightly. She stood behind me, her arm tightly holding onto that of Auren. “Stay low. No matter what happens, don’t run until I say so.”She nodded, her expression tight with fear. “Be careful,” she murmured.I turned my attention back to the approaching figures. The five men who have already begun to attack again. It w

Kailey’s POV. I sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the wooden floorboards, my mind miles away. We have finally gotten to our destination and everything was going well, everything was in place. However, I had an odd feeling, I just wanted everything to be over quickly. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of the fireplace casted some flickering shadows across the hard walls of the room. From my windows, I could hear the sounds of the wind howling gently outside, rustling the curtains slightly, however I barely noticed all of this at the moment. This was because, my thoughts, my mind was elsewhere. My thoughts were on my son, Auren. It had been days since we left him at the pack house with James and Lydia, and no matter how much I tried to convince myself that he was safe, my heart refused to settle. I knew James was loyal to Ezekiel, he was his most trusted Beta afterall, and Lydia on the other hand was like a sister to me. If anyone could protect my son, it was them. But w

JAMES’ POV After the ambush attack, I had healed completely, and I was glad Lydia and Auren had not sustained any injuries. Right now, a was going on in the conference room, one which was based on the festival which was around the corner. The air in the conference room was thick with the scent of burning candles and the aged wood of the long table that stretched across the center of the chamber. I sat at the head of the table, my hands clasped together, my mind set on leading this meeting as efficiently as possible.Alpha Ezekiel was away, and as his most trusted Beta, I had taken it upon myself to act in his stead.Actually. I didn't make this decision myself, Ezekiel had told me beforehand, he knew there would be meetings while he was away and had strictly given me the order and permission to act in his place. The elders sat around me, their expressions unreadable, some aged with wisdom, others more skeptical of my position. I already knew what was going through my mind, they

CECILIA'S POV. The night was cold, the air was thick with moisture as the rain poured continuously from the sky. It wasn’t a gentle drizzle at all, it was harsh, a steady downpour that soaked through the cloak I was putting on and also made every step heavier than the last. The scent of damp earth filled my nose, mingling with the distant scent of leaves. I had started this journey before the rain began, before the whole place hit darkRight now, The thick canopy of trees provided little shelter, as they were not enough to shield me from the heavy rain. The water slipped through the leaves, dripping onto my hood. It didn’t matter right now, Nothing mattered except my destination.Damon, he had been failing me, over and over again, and I had had enough. This was not a meeting of mere discussion. This was a warning. If he couldn’t do the one thing I needed him to do, then he had no use to me.If Damon hadn't failed to take James out multiple times, James wouldn't have stood ther

JAMES’ POV I was woken by the sounds of birds chirping outside, probably from a nearby tree. My body was stiff and sore, probably from all the stress in the last few days. I glanced around the room, it was dark, save for the faint light seeing through the curtains, which was how I knew it was already dawn. My breathing was heavy, my mind was occupied, replaying all that had been happening for the past few days, starting from the ambush whir on my way back to the pack house. The second was that while returning from the river together with Auren and Lydia, I wondered what would have happened if I wasn't there. Both of these incidents had nearly cost me my life. There was something I realized, these two attacks, both seemed to be aimed at me. Actually, the second attack seemed like it was aimed towards Auren. However, If I looked closely, it seems the rogue wives had been following me , tracking me and it seems Auren and Lydia had just been unfortunate to be there at t

LYDIA'S POV. The wind blew gently as I sat at the top of a large rock, my arms wrapped around my knees. I glanced up to the sky and could see that the sun was already setting and it painted the sky in shades of gold and purple, casting long shadows across the pack grounds. It was a beautiful evening, though everything looked peaceful on the surface my heart was restless. No matter how much I tried to reduce my thinking level, I still found myself drifting far in my thoughts. Ofcourse It was something I couldn't help, there were too many things to worry about, too many troubles lurking around every corner that made me restless. A mile crossed my lips as my eyes traveled down below, towards the training ground which was alive, full of laughter and energy. There were children down there, running in circles, their small bodies moving with endless excitement. Some of the older ones were showing off, flipping through the air, landing with grace that came naturally to young werewolves.

James pov The conference room was just a stone's throw from where I was right now, I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing, I couldn't really trust that rogue. However.I had listened to his heartbeat at the time, there was no way he could have lied to me.If Auren was taken to the conference room, then there must be a reason for that. Why was Cecilia doing this?.I had known her to be heartless but not to ti's degree, I have been doubting and forcing myself not to believe that Cecilia was behind all of this, but with the confession of the rogue, I didn't know what to think anymore. A serpent like Cecilia has been living in the pack house all this while. I shook my head as I began to jog through the hallway. The place was silent except for the sound of my boots connecting to the dry ground. My senses were at alert, and my eyes were watchful, I needed to be ready for anything. Right now my wounds had completely healed and I was back to my best, though not totally, it was all I

LYDIA'S POV. It had been aWhile since I Was in the store room, I sag with my let's curled up in a corner, my knees pressed to my chest with my arms wrapped around them. My heart pounded in my chest so hard it echoed in my ears. The thick silence inside the room was only broken by the distant sounds of battle, the clash of swords, growls, and screams. Smoke drifted in through the cracks of the wooden door, making it hard to breathe.Jon had told me to stay put. “Don’t come out until I return. Promise me, Lydia.” His voice had been firm but gentle. I had nodded, and he had rushed out, returning back to the battlefield. That was... a while ago and right now I was beginning to get worried, I had no idea what was happening to Auren and James. I just couldn't stay here any more. I didn’t know how long I had been hiding, but it felt like forever at this point. Every second stretched like an hour. My hands were shaking. I wanted to believe Jon was still out there, alive, and would com

James pov. With the few rogues I had encountered here inside the pack house, I was already convinced that they had gotten their way somehow. It was obvious there must have been an inside man, someone who had given them access into the pack house. Come to think of it, the rogues wouldn't dare attack the pack if they were not confident about the outcome. Someone was pulling the strings. I shook my head, holding my sword in my right hand. This was not the time to put my sword inside its sheath as there might be dangers lurking around the corners.Right now the wounds on my body had completely healed, however, the blood stains still remained on my cloak, a reminder of the battle I had been involved in a few minutes ago. The two who had taken Auren, they had come through this part of the pack house, I frowned, halting as I took on my surroundings. There was no one around, the whole place was totally silent, it was just like a graveyard, except for the loud screened from outside and

Lydia's pov. The battle continued as the loud sounds of howls and metal clanging filled the air. I pressed my hands against my ears, trying to block it out, but it was no use at this point. The pack house was shaking. The screams of warriors, the growls of rogues, and the crashing of bodies against walls was everywhere.“Move! Lydia, stay close!” Jon shouted, grabbing my hand and pulling me through the corridor.Jon was one of the best warriors in the pack, always calm, always sharp and James had ordered him earlier to get me to safety. Another warrior followed behind us, tall and strong, but I didn’t know his name. His face was set, eyes darting back and forth like he expected an attack any second.“I’m scared,” I whispered as we ran.“I know,” Jon said, his voice steady. “But I won’t let anything happen to you.” We turned a corner, and my heart dropped. Part of the hallway was on fire, smoke curling into the air.“They’re everywhere,” the second warrior muttered. “We need to g

Cecilia's pov. My heart raced, toes curled as I laid stretched out on the bed, both of my legs stayed handing in the air as all I felt at that point was pleasure, extreme pleasure.Damon continued moving back and forth, plowing into me with so much energy and I just couldn't hold back the moans which escaped my lips from time to time. I squeezed my legs, wrapping them against his wait and pulling him more into me as I reached my climax. My whole body spasm and in that moment, I also felt his rod twitching inside of me, in no time I could feel him filling me up from the inside. After that, Damon collapsed on me for a few moments before rolling off, we both laid back on the bed panting and trying to catch our breath.I can't believe I had given myself to him again, how could I do that? How could I let a rogue have so much power over me?. How could I let him have his way with me right here In the pack house?. Of Course I knew this as a disrespect to Ezekiel, I still had no regrets, a

James pov As I stood on my feet, eyes locked on the rogue in front of me, I had confirmed his strength already and I knew this wasn't going to be an easy fight at all. If I wanted to win this, I would have to be serious with this. “Come on” the rogue muttered, cracking his knuckles. And cracking his neck. At this point I could hear my own breathing, rough, ragged, loud in my ears. The hallway was quiet, but only for a second. Dust floated in the air. Blood stained the walls, Of Course it was clear it was from the little fight we had. Some of those blood were mine and the rest of his. He stood at the far end, chest rising and falling steadily. Right now, His claws were out, long and black, tipped with blood. He was grinning, enjoying this. I on the other hand was tired, sore, and bleeding, but I still had my sword. However, my wounds were already healing. “You don’t look so good, Beta,” he said, taking a slow step forward.“You talk too much,” I answered, lifting my blade. We

A large frown appeared on my face as I inched deeper into the hallway. The pack soldiers had held their ground well, fending off the never ending wave of rogues, so how then were those two able to get into the pack house?.Seeing those two earlier only confirmed my fear, there were more of them inside the pack house, and these few must have not been in the sea of rogues who attacked the pack house. They must have snuck in through a secret passageway, there was no way they had done this themselves, it was clear that they had help from someone, someone inside the pack house. I gritted my teeth, my eyes sharp as I took in my surroundings. I wonder who it was, the one who had aided the rogues.Suddenly my mind went to Cecilia, I haven't heard or seen her since the beginning of the battle, where the hell has she been. Oh I just hope She has no hand in thisI

JAMES’ POV. My wounds were completely healed and free from the poison, thanks to the Antidote, I was already back to full strength. My mind was still occupied with the thought of whether Auren was alright or not, it pained me so much that he was taken right in front of me, while I wasn't looking. I felt a tug in my heart as I advanced further, I had tried so hard not to show the pain I felt in front of Lydia, assuring her that I would find Auren, I was certain he was still inside the pack house, that was the hope I was holding on to. I knew something was wrong the moment I stepped into the hallway. The air felt off, too still, too quiet.Even with the fighting outside, the whole place was still very much silent which was off. The pack house was never silent, especially not with the fighting happening outside. My boots thudded lightly on the polished wooden floor as I moved deeper inside, every sense alert at this point. Whoever took Auren must have not gone far. Suddenly, I hear

Kailey’s POV.I stood there captivated by the blood red flowers, they seemed unreal, scary and mysterious. Their red color reminded me of something.Blood. I continued walking, taking more steps and as I did, more and more flowers appeared in the groove. The scent in the air was more on this side, a sweet tang which also had a sweet taste to it, I wasn't sure how but somehow I could taste the sweetness in the air. What are these?. I couldn't help but wonder what the flowers were, the forest had shown me a lot of supernatural things which were white right now I was fully on my guard, I wouldn't let my guard down for now reason.Suddenly there was a whistle in the air, I paused, trying to figure out where the whistling was coming from but it felt like it was everywhere. My heart slowly began to pound in my chest, I took a deep breath and tried to focus on where the sound was coming from.My eyes widened as I noticed that the whistling was coming from the flowers, the blood red flowers
