Chapter 8

Adrian drove very quickly. The silhouettes outside the car window streaked by us in a flash. He gnashed his teeth together tightly, and his defined jaw was extremely tense the whole time. He was so nervous that his eyes were glued to the front no matter what.

I wanted to tell Adrian that there was no need to drive this quickly. I wasn't in a hurry to pass on, after all. The next thing I knew, Adrian slowed down the car. It was as if he could hear my thoughts.

He said with a smile, "We're almost there, Ophelia. Are you scared?"
