You Have Been Warned

I looked at Zayn and he smiled warmly, but then his smile faded. “What’s wrong? Your face looks pale.”

I forced a smile. “It’s nothing really.” I tapped the seat in front of me, which was the driver’s seat. “Would it be possible for me to get down here?”

“What?” Zayn asked as confusion plastered his face. “Why would you want to do that?”

Bunny and the others had the same look of confusion on their faces.

“I–I um, I saw a restaurant that I used to eat at when I was still little and it has been long since I have gotten something from there. I want to stop for a burger and fries.” I opened the door as I spoke.

“I would be there for a few minutes and then meet you all later at the mansion.” I tried my best to lie, it was not smooth but almost believable.

“Are you sure?” It was clear that Zayn did not want this. A car behind us honked and we realized that we were holding traffic because the light was now green.

“Yes, it’s just for old times’ sake.” I gave him a quick kiss and got out
