Chapter 10 The Examination Began

Time passed quickly. In the twinkling of an eye, a month had passed.

Today, the provincial placement exam for high school seniors in Xinlu Province, which was reiterated by the class teacher Yang Linchi, would finally begin.

During the past month, Lu Yao had attained perfection in Tuiyun Hand, the first move of Mixed Spirit King Kong Skills.

He could make his every movement an easy and flowing one.

Now Lu Yao could lift up things that were about 200 kg and push away the stone roller in the yard easily.

As the bus slowly left the bus stop, Lu Yao walked to the only empty seat behind.

When he came to the seat, he found that Lin Jiayi was also on the bus. The empty seat was next to her.

They were both going to take the exam in Vocational High School in Shuangta City. Lu Yao found that Lin Jiayi didn't wear the school uniform she always wore, but a floral turtleneck sweater.

Her long brown hair hung down upon her shoulders. Lu Yao didn't know whether it was because Lin Jiayi's sweater was a little tight, or whether she was growing so fast, the sweater just enlarged her bosom.

It was the first time Lu Yao looked at Lin Jiayi carefully. Although they had been desk mates for a long time, Lu Yao had never paid close attention to her appearance due to her personality.

Looking more closely, Lu Yao was dazzled by her beauty. He felt as if he had been looking at a fairy, not a human being.

Perhaps Lin Jiayi also realized that Lu Yao was staring at her. She gave a little cough to attract his attention.

The exam hall was a madhouse. Some seats were still empty. Some students were chatting and others were cramming for the exam.

"Put all your personal belongings that have nothing to do with the exam on the front desk. Hurry up!" The students suddenly heard a harsh female voice without seeing the female teacher.

The woman had such a loud voice that she was heard before she was seen.

Lu Yao sat in the back corner of the room. He had been reviewing the lessons for the coming exam since he entered the classroom.

Hearing the voice, he also looked up.

He saw a middle-aged female teacher walk into the classroom. She was in her forties, wearing ten-centimeter heels and lots of makeup.

"Hurry up! What are you waiting for?" The female teacher yelled again.

Lu Yao also put his books on the designated desk. As he walked past the middle-aged female teacher, he found that she wore heavy foundation as if lime had been applied to her face.

When he turned around, Lu Yao found that Lin Jiayi was also in this exam room. He gave her a friendly smile and walked to his seat.

About five or six minutes later, the other invigilator arrived.

It was him!

Lu Yao said to himself.

It turned out that the invigilator who just walked into the exam room was Liu Taibin, Lu Yao's English teacher.

Although Lu Yao sat in the last seat in the corner, Liu Taibin saw him as soon as he walked into the classroom.

"You, get up and sit in the back seat!" Liu Taibin pointed at a student who sat in the middle of the first row. And then he pointed at Lu Yao and said, "Lu Yao, take your belongings and sit here!"

Hearing Liu Taibin calling his name, Lu Yao reluctantly took his stationery and walked to the front seat.

In this way, Lu Yao just sat in front of Lin Jiayi.

"Now, I'm gonna announce the test regulations. First, no student can enter the exam hall more than 30 minutes after the exam starts. Students are not allowed to leave the exam hall until 60 minutes after the exam starts. During the exam, students are not allowed to whisper, borrow stationery from others, pass materials, peep at others' papers, exchange papers, or take unauthorized materials to their exam desks. Any form of cheating means automatic disqualification."

The middle-aged female teacher announced the test regulations, staring at the students in the exam room.

"Now I'll hand out the papers. Take one and pass them on to the student behind you. OK, you can start answering the questions!"

Lu Yao was sitting in the first row. So after he got his paper, he passed the rest to Lin Jiayi.

After the exam began, Liu Taibin took a chair and sat in front of Lu Yao to stare at him.

However, Lu Yao had himself disdained to cheat because he had made great progress. So Liu Taibin had got nothing on Lu Yao after staring at him for about an hour.

Maybe it was because Liu Taibin was so bored that he got up and walked to the middle-aged female teacher.

"Miss Tian, I heard that you were named the winner of the Advanced Female Teacher Prize of your school again this year. Congratulations!" Liu Taibin tried to spark up a conversation with her.

"It's just a rumor. It's not true. Don't make fun of me, Mr. Liu. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." Miss Tian denied the rumors, but she was pleased by the flattery and smiled smugly.

"Don't be so modest, Miss Tian. You are good at teaching and you are so beautiful. No one can be named the winner of the Advanced Female Teacher Prize except you! Don't you think so? Ha-ha!" Liu Taibin gushed and smiled from ear to ear.

"Mr. Liu, you always say nice things. I almost take it seriously!"

"Miss Tian, are you free this noon? Can I buy you lunch?"

"I'm afraid not!"

"Miss Tian, please don't reject me."

"Well..."

"It's a deal. I'll see you at noon!"

Lu Yao had already completed the test. He looked it over twice and didn't find any mistake. So he intended to hand in the paper. But when he saw Liu Taibin flirting with Miss Tian, he changed his mind and silently cursed them.

Before long, the Shinese test which lasted two and a half hours was over.

As soon as the bell rang, Liu Taibin quickly came to Lu Yao. He put his hand on Lu Yao's test paper and said, "Lu Yao, please get up and help me collect the papers!"

Lu Yao knew that Liu Taibin had been glancing at him from the corner of his eyes even when he flirted with Miss Tian. And Liu Taibin asked him to collect the papers because he was afraid that Lu Yao would take this opportunity to copy others' answers.
