Irene’s POV

I didn’t know how to react to his pitying gaze at me. So I smiled, foolishly.

Having almost zero social circle is sometimes beneficial. You don’t have anyone to ask you consistently about how you are doing? Or how is it going? About your family, or your life. It makes it easy, you don’t have to explain it all the time. But sometimes it gets a little lonely. Maybe a little bit more.
