Irene's POV:

I was coming from the grocery when I saw Kian’s car parked. It wasn't his time to come home. I got off my car and walked to the corridor. As I entered the living room. I found him sitting on the couch. His head hung back, eyes closed.

“Kian, are you alright?” Putting all the packages on the table I walked towards him. He opened his eyes to look at me. I cupped his face, hovered myself over him.

“Do you feel pain?” he looked at me, for a second and then blinked. “No, I am alright.” His voice was neutral.

“You came early? Did something happen?” I took the space beside him.

“No, nothing happened. Everything’s fine. No video of ours is being streamed on social media.” It was a good thing. But why did it sound so bitter on his tongue?

“What happened?” My voice was almost inaudible. After all the wait, to give him space. I thought it was over. We will be back to normal.

“You told Raven everything?”

“I did it because I thought he is your friend and he can handle it.” once agai
