Blakeley stared at the mirror as Piper styled her hair, turns out she doesn't do only makeovers. She did her nails and did a quick skincare routine for her face before doing a makeover.
It's been two hours and it's dusk already, Blakeley still wondered what she was getting ready for that needed this much preparation.
She was finally done with her hair and Blakeley admired her look in the mirror, she looked so beautiful. She almost didn't recognise herself.
“You look beautiful ma’am.” Piper complimented and Blakeley smiled shyly.
“Thank you.” She replied and kept staring at the mirror. She really did a good job, her swollen eyes due to too much crying weren't visible anymore.
“Ma’am.” Piper called and Blakeley turned to her, her eyes widening as she stared at the dresses on the bed.
“Please pick your choice.” She said and Blakeley slowly stood up, she moved closer to the bed and stared at the dresses in awe.
They looked so beautiful and priceless. There were five dressed on the bed, two were black, one was white and two were red. The black ones were long and had beautiful stones that glowed on them. The red ones were not too long and had designs on them. While the white one was a short gown but looked much more beautiful than the others.
‘What exactly are these all about? Aren't these dresses too expensive for anything?’ She thought.
“You don't have to be worried about picking a dress that would fit in for the event. They all do, just make your choice.” Piper said.
“Can you help me?” She asked and Piper nodded with a smile.
“Sure, go with this.”Piper replied and picked one of the black dresses.
“It fits in perfectly and besides, you will match with Mr. Xanders.”
“Okay.” She replied with a smile and Piper helped her put on the dress. She still had no idea why she was getting dressed or what she was getting dressed for.
Alex wasn't back from work yet either.
Piper helped her with the heels and Blakeley was ready, Piper received a text on her phone and she smiled.
“And I am done here.” Piper said as she packed her things.
“Oh, you are leaving already?”
“Yes ma’am, I hope you have a lovely night ma’am.” She said and walked out of the room.
Blakeley stared at herself in the mirror and took in a deep breath, she was about to step out to ask Logan about Alex when the door to her room opened.
Alex walked in dressed in a fancy tuxedo. He looked different and handsome with his styled hair. She couldn't find words to describe his looks because they screamed perfection!
“He… hey… hi.” Blakeley greeted nervously and he walked closer to her.
“Are you ready?” He asked and she nodded in response. As he got closer to her, she noticed how bright his ocean eyes were.
He looked down at her gown and back to her face.
“Come on.” He muttered and held her hand, they both walked out of the room together and down the stairs. They got out of the house and both entered the car waiting for them.
The chauffeur drove out and Blakeley sighed. After a while that they had been on the way, she thought of something and she hurriedly turned to Alex.
“Can I know where we are going? So I can prepare myself ahead. I am not used to this kind of lifestyle.” She said and Alex handed her the invite.
She went through it and she chuckled nervously.
“Oh my God.” She muttered as she started to feel uneasy.
“Is there a problem?” Alex asked and she chuckled again.
“Of course not. A commoner is just meeting with the president. Sure I am fine, I am definitely okay.” She replied sarcastically and let out a nervous laugh again.
“Pull yourself together.” Alex said and she scoffed.
“You could have said something before you left the house this morning, I would have gotten ready for this. What if I didn't ask? I deserve to know things like this. You can't just do anything anyhow you like.” Blakeley replied, raising her voice.
“I am not used to this lifestyle and surprising me with things like this isn't going to get me excited, it makes me feel bad. I feel like a fucking failure.” She yelled with tears clouding her eyes.
Alex found her act annoying and he decided not to say anything, she was overreacting over nothing and he wasn't ready for unnecessary drama.
He noticed she was restless and he sighed.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck.” He muttered before turning to her.
“How long before we get there?” He asked the chauffeur.
“We are there already sir.”
“Oh my God.” Blakeley whined and her heart started to race, she started to panic and her hands shook.
“Take us to the back.” Alex ordered the chauffeur and he went round the building.
“Hey, Blakeley.” He called and held her both hands.
“Blakeley, look at me.” He said and she stared at him with tears in her eyes.
“Don't let the tears fall, you will ruin your makeup. Remember you have to look presentable in front of the president.” He said and she bit her lip.
“Take a deep breath.” He ordered and she did.
“Let it out.” He ordered and she did.
“The president is just a man, he is not scary. You might not even get so close to him.”
“You are lying, your parents are so close to him. I looked it up on the internet.” She replied sharply.
“Okay, true. But remember, I am fucking paying you for this so pull yourself together.”
“How is that supposed to calm me?”
“I am not trying to calm you. If you mess this up, you will regret it.” He threatened with a stern look and her heart skipped a beat, she stopped panicking and withdrew her hands from him.
“Better. Now take us back to the front.” He ordered the chauffeur and he drove to the front, as they got there, reporters rushed to their car and Blakeley gulped.
Three huge men suddenly showed up and opened the car door, Alex held Blakeley’s hand and helped her out of the car as she got out.
“Mr. Xanders, is she your wife?”
“When did you get married?”
“When did you have a wedding?” The reporters asked questions as their cameras flashed, Blakeley felt uncomfortable and she held Alex’s hand tightly as the men made way for them.
Blakeley couldn't take it anymore, the flashes were affecting her and she was having a nervous breakdown. She suddenly felt dizzy and she fell to the floor.
Her name and screams were all she heard as she slowly passed out.
“Tch.” Mrs. Xanders muttered as they stared at Blakeley lying peacefully on the bed.“She really passed out due to camera flashes. Isn't she used to it?” Mrs. Xanders asked Alex and he ignored her as he paid attention to Blakeley. After Blakeley passed out in the midst of the reporters, the guards carried her and passed through a different entrance and took her to a room. The venue of the party was a mansion, with a ballroom in it. The reporters got distracted by the arrival of another important guest, Alex’s family heard about Blakeley passing out and one of his guards led them to the room. She has been unconscious for about thirty minutes. Mr. Xanders got a doctor among the guests and he confirmed she was okay and she would wake up anytime soon. The Xanders were all present in the room waiting for her to wake up and they were all getting impatient.“Do we really have to wait here?” Dante’s wife asked and they glanced at her.“I mean the party is going on and we are missing a lot o
Throughout the drive home, Blakeley kept mute. She kept glancing at Alex and his hand, the bleeding was starting to get worse but he ignored it. She couldn't imagine the pain he would be going through in his hands and feet, she tried talking to him but he snapped at her, she couldn't blame him though. She has been such a terrible person to him tonight.Guilt was eating her up and she felt so uncomfortable. He paid attention to his phone and answered lots of calls. They finally got home and he walked out of the car without taking a look at her, she slowly walked out and sighed. She got into the house and Logan welcomed her, she smiled slightly at him and headed to her room. She got there and took off her dress, she cleaned the makeover but still left her hair styled. She changed into a comfortable dress and she sighed as she sat on her bed. She kept thinking about Alex and it made her restless. She walked out of her room and headed down the stairs, she got to the living room and me
Blakeley finally picked the outfit she felt comfortable with after going through her closet for minutes. She wore a pair of jeans, and a crop top and matched it with a jacket and black sneakers. She doubted if it was okay but after so much thought, she decided to go with it. She packed her hair into a bun, picked up her phone then walked out of her room. She got down the stairs and met Alex in the living room, she was glad he was still around, she thought he left immediately. “Alex.” She called and rushed to him. He was dressed for work but he was going through a file.He gave her a questioning look.“I am meeting your mother so you should know what she likes. Is this outfit okay?” She asked, looking worried and Alex trailed his eyes on her outfit. “It's fine.” He replied and she smiled.“For real?” She giggled and Alex ignored her childish act. Logan walked to them and bowed.“Good morning ma’am. You haven't had breakfast yet.”“Oh, I am not hungry.” She replied and Logan glance
‘She knows?’ Blakeley thought. Cassie walked back into the living room and saw Blakeley looking lost.“Blakeley,” Cassie called and Blakeley smiled at her.“Yes?”“Are you guys ready?” She asked and Blakeley nodded in response, they all stood up and walked out of the house. Cassie noticed the tension between Emily and Blakeley and she wondered what was going on.“Where should we show her first?” Cassie asked Emily.“The mall. How about that? I bet you will be impressed by the things at the mall.” Emily told Blakeley and she rolled her eyes. She muttered a curse word and Cassie sighed as they entered the car.Throughout the drive, Blakeley didn't say a word, all she did was look out the window and think of how Emily found out and the consequences. “We are here.” Cassie said as they arrived in front of the mall. They all got down and walked into the mall. The employees around recognised them immediately and led them to a private section for shopping in the mall. They got there and Blak
“What?” Blakeley asked. “Sign here, and here.” Alex said and handed her a pen then pointed at the spots she would sign. Blakeley was too stunned to speak or do anything, all she did was stare at Alex. She felt her heart race in excitement and joy and also fear. Tears clouded her eyes and burst into tears. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Alex scoffed. Blakeley turned away from Alex and tried to control her tears. “It needs your signature, not your tears.” Alex said and she sniffed, she wiped her tears and turned to him, she took the pen and as she signed the spots her signatures were needed, tears welled up in her eyes again. She signed them and handed them back to Alex, the tear rolled down her cheeks and she sniffed. “Thank you, thank you so much.” She cried and he rolled his eyes. “That isn't necessary, I am only keeping to my terms of the agreement.” Alex replied and brought out a phone. “Here, stop crying. Call your mother through this phone, place the phone on speaker and
Blakeley stared at the meals on the table with a broken heart, she knew making him a meal wasn't a huge way of appreciating what he did but she wanted to try. “But they aren't so bad.” She muttered as tears welled up in the corner of her eyes, she slowly picked out of the fries on a plate and ate it. She sniffed as the tears rolled down, she felt embarrassed and heartbroken. With a heavy heart, Blakeley managed to eat a little and walk out of the dining room, she already stopped crying but still felt sad. She decided to ignore what Alex said to her. She wouldn't let him ruin her day, so far, it has been the best day of her life. She walked up the stairs and headed to her room to have a good night's rest. The day was over already.*******THE NEXT DAYMORNING Blakeley woke up happily in the morning with the motive of having a great day and not letting anything or anyone ruin her mood. She got ready for the day and made her way down the stairs, she got to the living room and paused w
“How rich was your ex-fiance?”“Huh?” Blakeley asked, confused.“Answer the question.” “Hmm, I don't know but he was quite wealthy.” “Okay.” He replied and ended the call. Blakeley thought about why Alex suddenly questioned her about her ex-fiance. Out of curiosity, Blakeley looked at the map displayed in the car, she didn't understand and she decided to question the chauffeur.“Excuse me.” She called getting his attention.“Yes ma’am?” “Where are we heading to?”“I am not allowed to say ma’am but I can assure you that you are safe. I am just following the orders of Mr. Xanders.” He replied and she sighed. She fell back on the car seat and sighed.Blakeley stared at her phone as she expected another call from Alex but she got none. After a few minutes of being on the road, the car pulled over in front of a building and Blakeley looked around. The area was quiet and the environment looked weird.“We are here ma’am.” The chauffeur said and Blakeley looked at the building again. It w
“Just shut up and let’s get this over with.” Alex said and moved closer to Blakeley and the men. They both watched as Blakeley questioned the men in Spanish, after a while, they got the answers they wanted and Blakeley felt happy.“What else can I help you guys with?” She asked excitedly as she stood in front of Alex and Scott.“Nothing, let’s go.” Alex said and held her hand, he pulled her out of the room. They both walked together down the hallway, they were about to get to the stairs when they heard a gunshot. Blakeley froze and turned to the direction they came from.“Di… did you hear that?” She asked Alex in fear.“Let’s go.” He muttered and pulled her up the stairs, she kept glancing at the place as they headed out. Blakeley thought about what could happen and she couldn't help but worry if Scott was okay.“Is Scott okay? Shouldn't you check up on him? You heard the gunshot right?” She asked worriedly as they got out of the building but Alex ignored her. “Get in the car.” He o
