“Tch.” Mrs. Xanders muttered as they stared at Blakeley lying peacefully on the bed.
“She really passed out due to camera flashes. Isn't she used to it?” Mrs. Xanders asked Alex and he ignored her as he paid attention to Blakeley.
After Blakeley passed out in the midst of the reporters, the guards carried her and passed through a different entrance and took her to a room. The venue of the party was a mansion, with a ballroom in it.
The reporters got distracted by the arrival of another important guest, Alex’s family heard about Blakeley passing out and one of his guards led them to the room.
She has been unconscious for about thirty minutes. Mr. Xanders got a doctor among the guests and he confirmed she was okay and she would wake up anytime soon.
The Xanders were all present in the room waiting for her to wake up and they were all getting impatient.
“Do we really have to wait here?” Dante’s wife asked and they glanced at her.
“I mean the party is going on and we are missing a lot of great opportunities and important people to be here with her. The doctor confirmed she was fine so why are we still waiting?” She asked angrily and glared at Dante.
“She is right, Alex is with her. We can check up on her later.” Mr. Xanders said. Alex wasn't paying attention to them, all he did was stare at Blakeley with rage burning inside of him.
“I will wait with them.” Cassie said and the others left the room.
“She is going to be fine, Alex. Don't worry.” She said and he ignored her. After a few minutes, Blakeley moaned and slowly opened her eyes.
“Hey,” Cassie called with a smile and she glanced at her, she recalled what happened and she slowly looked at Alex who had no expression on his face. She knew he would be mad at him, she fucked up big time.
“Cassie, can you head back to the party? I want to have a quick chat with her.” Alex told Cassie and she nodded in response.
“Take care, Blakeley.” She said and walked out of the room. Blakeley slowly sat up and gave Alex an apologetic look.
“I… I’m really sorry. I wasn't feeling comfortable with the flashes and I... “
“Are you ready?” He cut her off and he paused.
“Huh?”
“Are you ready to go back?” He asked and she nodded in response.
“When talking to me, I always need you to respond with your words.” He warned.
“Yes, I am ready to go back.” She replied and he handed her heels to her, she sat up properly and put them on. Alex stood up and stretched his hand towards her, she took it and he helped her up.
Blakeley felt disturbed and surprised that he wasn't mad at her, he seemed cool even after the embarrassment she caused him.
“Alex, I’m sorry.” She apologised as they were about to walk out of the room. She felt so bad and ashamed.
“Are you ready to go now?” He asked and she sighed, his behaviour towards her was bothering her. She fucking passed out in front of reporters, that is huge.
“The president was aware my wife passed out, he might want to talk to you.” He said and she gulped.
“Oh, okay.” She replied and held his hand firmly,
They both walked out of the room and took another entrance into the ballroom to avoid the reporters.
As they got to the ballroom and people noticed their presence, Blakeley felt uncomfortable and she held Alex’s hand tightly.
Alex walked with Blakeley and they got to the table reserved for his family, they both sat down.
“Are you okay?” Cassie asked and she nodded in response. The rest of Alex's family members ignored her and she felt hurt.
As time went on, the stares reduced and the party was back on track.
Couples were dancing including Alex’s parents and Dante with his wife, Cassie also danced with a random guy. Only Alex and Blakeley were sitting.
Alex was less concerned about the party as he paid attention to his phone.
An old couple suddenly walked to them.
“Come on, why aren't you guys dancing?” The old lady asked Blakeley and she smiled.
The man pulled Alex up and the woman also pulled Blakeley, they both took them to the dance floor and Blakeley smiled nervously.
“Come on, dance with your wife.” The man urged Alex and pushed him slightly to Blakeley.
Blakeley moved closer to him and breathed out nervously. Alex slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and she placed her hand on his shoulder.
“Hm… Al… Alex.” She called and he looked at her with a questioning look.
“I… I don't know how to dance.” She said and he nodded in response.
“Just go with the music and my lead.” He replied.
“Okay.”
They started dancing and Blakeley tried to keep up but she stepped on him.
“I’m sorry.” She hurriedly apologised but stepped on him again.
The dance ended and Blakeley sighed in relief, she stepped on him throughout the dance and she knew his feet would be hurting.
“Are you okay?” She asked as the crowd walked back to their seats and he limped slightly. He didn't give her a response and she felt worried.
The party came to an end and Blakeley felt relieved, she couldn't wait to get home. This isn't a place for her. Although she was glad she didn't come across the president, at the same time, she wondered where he was. Probably he had something urgent to attend to.
As the Xanders were about to stand up from their table, a middle-aged man walked to them and Blakeley recognised him as the president, she hurriedly held Alex’s hand and dipped her nails into his skin nervously.
Alex glanced at her and noticed how nervous she was so he let her.
The Xander family stood up and welcomed him as he got to them, Blakeley froze on a spot as she kept hurting Alex with her nails.
He exchanged greetings with Alex’s parents, Alex and Dante also greeted him including Dante’s wife and Alex's sister but Blakeley kept still.
“You must be Alex’s wife. I heard you passed out, are you okay?” He asked and Blakeley nodded nervously.
“Fuck.” Dante’s wife muttered and rolled her eyes. Mr. Xanders glared at Alex.
“She is fine sir, she is still not feeling okay. Would you please excuse us now?” He asked.
“Sure. Goodnight.”
“Night sir.” Alex said and walked away with Blakeley who still held onto him tightly. The President was done with the Xanders family and he walked away.
“Are you sure she grew up in Beverly Hills?” Mrs. Xanders scoffed.
“Alex and I got to talk.” His father said and sighed.
Blakeley and Alex got into the car and she finally let go of him, she noticed her nails hurt him and his hand was bleeding slightly.
He stared at it and exhaled.
“Alex, I... I’m sor… “
“Shut the fuck up.” He snapped at her and she flinched.
Throughout the drive home, Blakeley kept mute. She kept glancing at Alex and his hand, the bleeding was starting to get worse but he ignored it. She couldn't imagine the pain he would be going through in his hands and feet, she tried talking to him but he snapped at her, she couldn't blame him though. She has been such a terrible person to him tonight.Guilt was eating her up and she felt so uncomfortable. He paid attention to his phone and answered lots of calls. They finally got home and he walked out of the car without taking a look at her, she slowly walked out and sighed. She got into the house and Logan welcomed her, she smiled slightly at him and headed to her room. She got there and took off her dress, she cleaned the makeover but still left her hair styled. She changed into a comfortable dress and she sighed as she sat on her bed. She kept thinking about Alex and it made her restless. She walked out of her room and headed down the stairs, she got to the living room and me
Blakeley finally picked the outfit she felt comfortable with after going through her closet for minutes. She wore a pair of jeans, and a crop top and matched it with a jacket and black sneakers. She doubted if it was okay but after so much thought, she decided to go with it. She packed her hair into a bun, picked up her phone then walked out of her room. She got down the stairs and met Alex in the living room, she was glad he was still around, she thought he left immediately. “Alex.” She called and rushed to him. He was dressed for work but he was going through a file.He gave her a questioning look.“I am meeting your mother so you should know what she likes. Is this outfit okay?” She asked, looking worried and Alex trailed his eyes on her outfit. “It's fine.” He replied and she smiled.“For real?” She giggled and Alex ignored her childish act. Logan walked to them and bowed.“Good morning ma’am. You haven't had breakfast yet.”“Oh, I am not hungry.” She replied and Logan glance
‘She knows?’ Blakeley thought. Cassie walked back into the living room and saw Blakeley looking lost.“Blakeley,” Cassie called and Blakeley smiled at her.“Yes?”“Are you guys ready?” She asked and Blakeley nodded in response, they all stood up and walked out of the house. Cassie noticed the tension between Emily and Blakeley and she wondered what was going on.“Where should we show her first?” Cassie asked Emily.“The mall. How about that? I bet you will be impressed by the things at the mall.” Emily told Blakeley and she rolled her eyes. She muttered a curse word and Cassie sighed as they entered the car.Throughout the drive, Blakeley didn't say a word, all she did was look out the window and think of how Emily found out and the consequences. “We are here.” Cassie said as they arrived in front of the mall. They all got down and walked into the mall. The employees around recognised them immediately and led them to a private section for shopping in the mall. They got there and Blak
“What?” Blakeley asked. “Sign here, and here.” Alex said and handed her a pen then pointed at the spots she would sign. Blakeley was too stunned to speak or do anything, all she did was stare at Alex. She felt her heart race in excitement and joy and also fear. Tears clouded her eyes and burst into tears. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Alex scoffed. Blakeley turned away from Alex and tried to control her tears. “It needs your signature, not your tears.” Alex said and she sniffed, she wiped her tears and turned to him, she took the pen and as she signed the spots her signatures were needed, tears welled up in her eyes again. She signed them and handed them back to Alex, the tear rolled down her cheeks and she sniffed. “Thank you, thank you so much.” She cried and he rolled his eyes. “That isn't necessary, I am only keeping to my terms of the agreement.” Alex replied and brought out a phone. “Here, stop crying. Call your mother through this phone, place the phone on speaker and
Blakeley stared at the meals on the table with a broken heart, she knew making him a meal wasn't a huge way of appreciating what he did but she wanted to try. “But they aren't so bad.” She muttered as tears welled up in the corner of her eyes, she slowly picked out of the fries on a plate and ate it. She sniffed as the tears rolled down, she felt embarrassed and heartbroken. With a heavy heart, Blakeley managed to eat a little and walk out of the dining room, she already stopped crying but still felt sad. She decided to ignore what Alex said to her. She wouldn't let him ruin her day, so far, it has been the best day of her life. She walked up the stairs and headed to her room to have a good night's rest. The day was over already.*******THE NEXT DAYMORNING Blakeley woke up happily in the morning with the motive of having a great day and not letting anything or anyone ruin her mood. She got ready for the day and made her way down the stairs, she got to the living room and paused w
“How rich was your ex-fiance?”“Huh?” Blakeley asked, confused.“Answer the question.” “Hmm, I don't know but he was quite wealthy.” “Okay.” He replied and ended the call. Blakeley thought about why Alex suddenly questioned her about her ex-fiance. Out of curiosity, Blakeley looked at the map displayed in the car, she didn't understand and she decided to question the chauffeur.“Excuse me.” She called getting his attention.“Yes ma’am?” “Where are we heading to?”“I am not allowed to say ma’am but I can assure you that you are safe. I am just following the orders of Mr. Xanders.” He replied and she sighed. She fell back on the car seat and sighed.Blakeley stared at her phone as she expected another call from Alex but she got none. After a few minutes of being on the road, the car pulled over in front of a building and Blakeley looked around. The area was quiet and the environment looked weird.“We are here ma’am.” The chauffeur said and Blakeley looked at the building again. It w
“Just shut up and let’s get this over with.” Alex said and moved closer to Blakeley and the men. They both watched as Blakeley questioned the men in Spanish, after a while, they got the answers they wanted and Blakeley felt happy.“What else can I help you guys with?” She asked excitedly as she stood in front of Alex and Scott.“Nothing, let’s go.” Alex said and held her hand, he pulled her out of the room. They both walked together down the hallway, they were about to get to the stairs when they heard a gunshot. Blakeley froze and turned to the direction they came from.“Di… did you hear that?” She asked Alex in fear.“Let’s go.” He muttered and pulled her up the stairs, she kept glancing at the place as they headed out. Blakeley thought about what could happen and she couldn't help but worry if Scott was okay.“Is Scott okay? Shouldn't you check up on him? You heard the gunshot right?” She asked worriedly as they got out of the building but Alex ignored her. “Get in the car.” He o
Blakeley took her time in the bathroom to calm herself, she didn't want to be bothered about the fact that Alex left her with his family to meet a lady. She spent close to half an hour in the restroom. She wasn't vibing with them anyway so there was no point rushing to go back to them. She was starting to get exhausted and she decided to leave. She walked out of the restroom and bumped into Dante, her phone fell to the floor and he bent to pick it up.“I am so sorry.” She apologised and Dante chuckled as he stood properly and handed her the phone.“It's fine. I was the one that bumped into you.” He said and she nodded.“You were in the bathroom for a long time. Are you okay?” He asked and she smiled.“Yeah, of course. I just wanted to clear my head.“Well, okay. I haven't really gotten to welcome you into the family properly, its... ““Oh, it's fine. Please excuse me.” She cut him off and hurriedly walked away from him before he could say anything else. She wasn't feeling comfortab
