A Strange Night

Damien's POV

Jen stood in the middle of the room in fear. I could hear the thumping of her heart as it raced faster with each second that passed.

She didn't know why I was asking these questions, but she was scared and I couldn't blame her. I was sure she thought that I was about to threaten her.

"Sir." I could hear the apprehension in her tone. She thought I was going to harm her parents, but that wasn't why I was asking.

" Answer the question, Jen," I said.

" I will feel...sad, broken, and alone." She finally answered after so much hesitation.

"That's how my son will feel if Zeta dies.." I was going to feel worse than that and I would never let that happen.

She gasped and raised her head to look at me for a second.

"Alpha, is Queen Zeta dying?" She asked. With how scared she was, I wasn't expecting her to ask questions but I answered her.

"With the rate at which she is fainting these days, and how weak and underweight she is. What do you think?"

" I-i don't know what to think.
