RYAN'S POV I calmly watched the chiefs and honourables whisper amongst themselves, as I waited for the next topic of deliberation to be brought up. "What next?" I asked eventually, tired of listening to their annoying whispers. "Al...Alpha." One of the chiefs stuttered, making me roll my eyes. Why was he stuttering now? "Speak." I urged impatiently. "Alpha, it is a situation with the MacQuoids." Philip informed. Instantly, my eyes moved towards the representative of the Honourables, and my gaze fell on Dean MacQuoid. Next to him was Hazel MacQuoid. "What about?" I asked, feeling quite non chalant. Ever since Ralia showed up here, I wasn't in my element. "We are yet to appoint a new power custodian, Alpha." Dean MacQuoid was the one who revealed. He spared a glance at his mother; Hazel, for a moment, before holding my gaze. Bold. He had always been bold. Dean, I mean. And honourable, and..... I just couldn't place my hand on it. Fatherly? Orrrr just.... a kind man
RYAN'S POV The past week had been both crazy and worrisome. The stupid prince Sebastian had abducted some of my pack members, with the intent of forcing me to the meeting he had arranged with his cohort Alphas. Of course, I had to go because my innocent pack members needed rescuing. Sebastian and the other foolish Alphas were so lucky they hadn't pushed me to the wall, because so much blood would have been spilled. I wasn't one to be crossed with. Sebastian had made his offer for me to side with him during his planned rebellion on the day of coronation, which was a week away as at the time. Now, the coronation was in two days. I guess he was even more foolish to try and entice me with wealth and a position of power. Was he simply daft? Didn't he know my pack was the richest after the king's pack? And how much more power could he possibly give me? I was the strongest creature currently existing. What more could top that? When Ralia had told me that her reason for wanting to l
ROSA'S POV A baby maker. That was all they had reduced me to, yet it seemed to be that I wasn't good at it either. Why wasn't I getting pregnant? Was I barren or could my womb not hold a pup? I was taking things hard on myself now, because it had become clear that this was my only way to survive in the blood moon pack. Especially now that I knew what my mate's parents thought of me. Left to them, their son would have been better off with a different and stronger she~wolf. Now here I was, trying so hard to birth a pup, so I don't get thrown out of the new home I found myself. 'You think this a home?' My wolf muttered, and my shoulders slumped in defeat. She was right. This didn't exactly feel like 'home'. But at least, no one was hitting me here. I wondered when I was gonna find myself somewhere that reminds me of my late mother's love and care. Not that I hoped to leave Andrew or anything, but I was simply wishing...... "Rosa! There you are!" I looked up to see a bubbly Lea
RYAN'S POV Within two days, so much had happened. Things that would probably drive a normal person insane. How on earth was Queen Brienne still alive? How was it possible that she had stayed away all these years? And most of all, how come she was a vampire?! Well, I already knew the answers to all the questions, but it was all still surreal. The actions I had taken in the space of two days, were surreal. Now here I was, in the palace with a traitor at my mercy. It was the coronation day, and I had succeeded in bringing necessary evidence to take Sebastian and his evil mother down. The fact that Sebastian's mother had been the reason behind queen Brienne's disappearance, had me so thirsty for vengeance. "Ryan!" I heard someone call me, and looked up to see queen Brienne walking towards me. Behind her, was the other vampire whom I had come to know as Dante. He was her beloved. The three witch elders were also present, which made me beat down the urge to curse out. After fi
ROSA'S POV I sat in a mix of fear and silence, as I watched the maids pack up our belongings from Andrew and I's chambers. He stood at the other end of the room, also observing all that was happening in silence. Disturbing silence. It was still so unreal to me. Alpha Dean and Luna Marion were dead. They were executed at the palace a week back. I know they had never been nice to me, or even liked me, but I never wished for such upon them. I glanced at Andrew once more, and couldn't believe I felt bad for him. Especially after what he had done to me. He had been unusually quiet the whole week, probably still trying to accept the present situation of things. His parents had been executed for being a part of the rebellion against the present king. And his sister had been rejected by the king, for also being a party to the rebellion all along. I just didn't understand why Audrey would think of betraying her mate that way. Part of the charges laid against her, was the fac
ROSA'S POV "She lost it!" Came Audrey's angry voice. "She lost the pregnancy!" "Again" Denver added. "I'm fed up, Denver. I'm fucking fed up!!" She yelled in annoyance. My eyes were still very much closed, but I could hear them talking the whole time. They probably thought I was still unconscious, and I would let it remain that way. Atleast, the past couple of minutes since I regained consciousness, had let me be a bit reminiscent of the past one year and four months. Oh? You thought the pregnancy I just lost was that of the other night? The other night was over a year ago, and since then, this was the third pregnancy I was losing. The third Andrew was beating out. Right now, I simply felt blank. "You should eat something. You haven't had anything to eat all day." I heard Denver say to Audrey, and after a few seconds they went away. They probably went to the hospital cafteria to get some food, and I took that as my opportunity to leave. With so much pain and discom
ROSA'S POV How I felt? Free. I smiled in guilty satisfaction, as I threw in the last of my belongings into my suitcase, ready to leave this sad life behind. Very eager to leave this lonely and secluded house that Andrew had forced me to call a home. He was buried this morning, and I was already prepared to leave. Picking up my suitcase, I walked out of the room, making my way towards the living room. I looked around the place for a moment, and I felt a pang within me. Andrew was really dead. For the first time since it happened, I felt the numbness within me, develop into sadness. But the sadness disappeared as quickly as came. "Goodbye Andrew." I whispered in the eerily silent living room, before making my way out. It had taken me a while to get to my destination, because of the extra luggage I had carried. But eventually, I arrived at the place that would be my new home. It was a place I wasn't used to, but with time I would definitely adjust. Opening the door and wa
ROSA'S POV "I was shifting as a result of the pain Logan was causing me." She said. "H...how?" I asked, completely at loss. "2 years ago, I made a grave mistake.... which led my mate to reject me." Her eyes were fast becoming red. "As a result of his rejection, I developed a phobia of touching or being touched by people." Wow. "Haphephobia." I said, and she nodded. "You loved prince Sebastian." I whispered, trying to make her understand the fact that I didn't judge her for loving someone other than her mate. "No... no no no." She sniffled. "I don't love Sebastian. I thought I did, but I don't." "You don't?" I asked in suprise. I was trying to be careful as to not make her become too self conscious, and stop speaking. "No, I don't." She nodded. "I had been so desperate to be Alpha after my parents, so much that it caused a strife between Andrew and I. I thought I deserved the position better than he did. I worked so hard for my parents t
