“Have you heard from them? How did they say Katherine is faring?” Standing and watching Xavier’s pack as it gets burnt down bit by bit, Derek threw the question at his beta who was standing firm beside him, looking ahead just like the Hybrid.

“The last time I phoned Fred, he told me she’s okay and that she was out with Bryson, so I couldn’t speak with her and tell her we’ll be back soon.” Edward answered, wrinkling his nose as the smoke in the air chokes even harder.

“And why would she be out with him?” Head snapped toward Edward, Derek grunted. Derek knew that was a stupid question to ask but hearing about Bryson and Katherine being together often trigger something in him.
