I HAD COME to understand one thing about thing life and that was the fact that regrets were easy to come by, I'd spent a few of my life making mistakes that would take me a whole while to regret.

My pulse pattered to an uneven beat. Leaving spaces in my heart that were filled with vanity— It did know that, though, it did know I needed to decide in split seconds.

There were only two occasions in my life I had pounded this loudly, and one was this moment, not indecision.

Thankfully, I still had some time to react as the next thing I did was based on mere instinct, with a different part of me controlling my action.

I had just put the phone down back to the spot where it was when I heard the toilet flushing and the next seconds she was walking out of the bathroom and headed straight for her phone.
