The ground trembles faintly beneath my boots. And then chaos erupts. "Positions!" Ethan's roar tears through the noise, his Alpha command wrapping around everyone like iron. I barely have time to react before the first rogue breaks through the trees, massive, feral, it's eyes glowing red under the fading light. The warriors collide with it mid-stride, but more shadows slip through behind it. Too much. Too fast. The air fills with snarls and the metallic tang of blood as bodies clash, claws raking against flesh.

His wolf hated it—hated her kneeling, hated her begging for a man who had dared poison his pack. “Yes.” Her voice cracked, but she pressed forward, speaking through the lump rising in her throat. “Because I know what it means to be a rogue. I know what it feels like to have your name stripped, your home stolen, your worth questioned. To walk into every pack’s territory knowing you’ll be chased, beaten, or worse—hunted like an animal. I lived that life. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Not even him.” Her words struck deeper than anything yet.

“What didn’t I dare do?” His jaw tightened. “You’re completely out of control. Wild. Untamed. You think this is acceptable?” She smiled slowly “Untamed?” she echoed. “You’ve been using the word like it offends me.” She took a step closer. “Let me give you something better to complain about.” Nyx surged forward, eager, and Anabella didn’t hold her back this time. The pressure in the air shifted again, sharper and more heavier, the kind that made even breathing feel wrong.

The heat wasn’t fading, and neither was the want. Eventually, the exhaustion of need won. My breathing slowed, but my heart still raced, pounding against my ribs like it wanted out. I buried my face in the pillow, curling tightly under the blankets. The note was still in my hand, the edges soft and warm from my touch, the images and desires stirring in my mind, unyielding. Sleep came slowly, restless and unsteady, filled with every touch, every forbidden thought I couldn’t shake. My body relaxed just enough to drift, but the ache, the want, the heat remained raw and alive, steaming under my skin even as darkness claimed my consciousness.

And his upper body was naked. I glanced from his broad shoulders, down to his torso. Perfect. My lips parted slightly as I realized just how much taller he was, how broad his shoulders were, how his muscles tensed. Up close, he was even more intimidating, his scent a mix of mint and something dark, something dangerously addictive. His golden amber eyes burned into mine, unreadable yet piercing straight through my soul. His jaw clenched, the muscle ticking as he stared down at me. I swallowed. I am indeed shawty. And so, so screwed. Which means I'm a screwed shawty

I knew it. I opened it and flipped through the pages until I landed a fourth of the way through. This version was in English, but more of an Old English. Some of the words were a little foreign to me and yet I was still able to understand. The page I landed on stuck out like a sore thumb and I knew there was no way I just happened upon it by chance. ‘Unbinding spell. To return something that has been taken…’
