Elysia n’est finalement pas l’unique havre de l’Humanité. Suite à la découverte de deux nouvelles cités, des décisions s’imposent.D’un côté Arystra, théocratie sous la coupe d’un despote enfermé dans sa pyramide survolant le peuple miséreux. De l’autre, Orancia, cité engloutie après le Cataclysme, où le libéralisme est poussé à l’excès et la vie des citoyens n’a d’autant de valeur que leur compte-action.Arystra et Orancia sont-elles des menaces pour Elysia ou l'opportunité d'élargir ses frontières ? Et quelles sont ces Failles qui apparaissent mystérieusement tout autour de la planète ? Depuis que l’air est devenu irrespirable, les gens ne sortent plus de leur appartement. Les portes des immeubles sont scellées, tel l’entrejambe d’une chrétienne prémaritale.

Sa vie est insipide.

L’acharnement ubuesque qu’il a donné pendant tant d’années à maintenir sa vie dans la banalité la plus inintéressante vole alors en éclat. La prison le guette, les cyber-terroristes l’espionnent. C’est la merde.

Quelque part dans Menel Ara, une jeune femme lève les yeux vers la Haute-Ville. Elle a vu les images de l’exécution publique, la veille. Elle a vu le visage irrité de Youri Komniev. Elle a vu aussi la tentative d’assassinat dont lui et les autres chefs de Grandes Familles ont fait l’objet.A côté d’elle, deux hommes discutent. Ils soutiennent les Martyrs et ont le sourire. C’est rare. Un peu plus loin, un groupe vêtu de robes vert et blanc se presse vers le Grand Ascenseur. Ce sont des Putras, et ils ont l’air inquiets. C’est perturbant.Prise d’un frisson, la jeune femme relève son col et reprend son chemin. Une tempête couve…

Née des cendres de notre monde, l’Utopie règne sur Elysia. Le dernier refuge de l’Humanité où elle a prospéré au cours des deux derniers siècles. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better... stay hidden. This is a story set in a much advanced technology era where the machines and specifically robots have taken over the city.
