Andy, seorang arsitek muda yang antusias pada pekerjaan pertamanya, baru saja diterima sebagai warga Kota Betaverse ketika ancaman virus Z yang masih dalam penelitian, pecah menjadi gelombang pandemi. Virus Z diketahui membuat pengidapnya berperilaku pasif, ganjil hingga destruktif bagaikan zombi. 

Pembunuhan misterius seorang wanita bernama Arina Wijanarko terjadi di sebuah area di pinggir Nusantara City. Semua petunjuk yang mengarah pada si pembunuh, menemui jalan buntu. Aidan Hunter, seorang Crime Investigator dari BIN (Badan Investigasi Negara), yang ditugaskan untuk menyelidiki kasus tersebut, mendapat perintah bosnya untuk bekerja sama dengan seorang gadis cenayang bernama Nara Hamarung, dalam menyelesaikan kasus pembunuhan itu. Aidan yang selalu berpikir realistis, tentu saja sangat keberatan bekerja sama dengan seorang paranormal. Tetapi, karena perintah bosnya, dia tidak dapat menolak. Aidan pun selalu bersikap ketus dan meremehkan kemampuan Nara. Bagaimana kelanjutan kerjasama antara seorang detektif dan paranormal ini, ikuti kisah mereka yang emosional ini. Dan peristiwa-peristiwa apa saja yang akan keduanya temui selama penyelidikan?
