“You are funny.” I narrowed my eyes at her. “I am also traumatized. I almost got eaten by wolves. I fell off a cliff. I ran through ghost trees. I saw dead people walking like they were on a normal stroll. And now I am talking to a naked stranger. So yes. I am funny. It is a coping mechanism.” She laughed. Actually laughed. Which annoyed me. “You think this is funny?” I demanded. “Yes.” “This is not funny. This is the worst day of my life.”

“Why did you not laugh?” Fay slowly got to her feet and cast a patronizing glance at Mina. "How do you feel about that? Is your joke truly funny? Check to see who is still laughing among those in attendance. Furthermore, a joke isn't considered a joke if it doesn't make the person telling it laugh,” After pausing, she went on, "It is called having a foul mouth." Everyone's odd eyes shifted to Mina as Fay said these words. Mina’s cheeks abruptly turned scarlet, and her eyes were full of hate as she gave Fay a scathing glance.

“Don’t apologize. I’m glad you told me.” She sniffed, her nose turning pink. Laughed again, this time watery and choked with emotion. “You’re gonna make me cry in public, bitch.” “Same.” I sniffed. We sat there for a minute, crying and laughing at the same time, tears mixing with smiles, people at the next table glancing over and then politely looking away. It felt ridiculous. It felt good. It felt ridiculous, absurd, like something out of a cheesy movie. It felt good, cathartic, like a weight had been lifted from both of our shoulders.

I grind my teeth as I am ready to burst. “Right? I pinkie promise?” He can’t decide weather to laugh or to run away, I can see it in his eyes. “This might sound very crazy but, I have got a special Gift.” I start of slowly to hopefully get him prepared for what is to come. “I like Gifts.” He is still unsure and tries to make me laugh. “Not that kind of Gift. It’s more like a special ability. I can control peoples feelings. Watch. I know that right now you are confused and concerned. So now I can make you feel like a million dollars happy.” I smile at him and watch him go through the emotions change.

A single laugh escaped him. We both ended up crying, we were laughing so hard. He fell off to the side of my body. "This isn't funny, Willow Koa. I've never embarrassed myself like that in my life." My laughter turned into howls as my stomach muscles cramped. He threw a pillow over my face. "Shut up, cupcake. You're so fucking loud." I wrapped my arms around the pillow, smooshed it against my mouth. I tried to get my laughter under control. I felt like a volcano had erupted inside me and it was spewing hilarity and mirth all over. It was legitimately just bubbling out of me.

Fuck . He feels so happy and so maddeningly happy after his body gets used to the coldness of the water. This is the best thing he has ever done in his life. He feels so alive, so thrilled and so- Devin does not even have words to explain that feeling he gets in the bottom of his gut at the moment.

"So things are going well? You're happy?" "I'm so happy," I admitted. "It's so weird because every time I leave one of them, I feel sad. But as soon as I'm with another one, I'm excited. And there's no difference in how I feel about them. I'm still trying to understand how all these feelings can fit in my heart." She smiled widely, looking like she would explode. Harvey didn't know why, but knowing Quinn's age only fueled his excitement. Harvey leaned closer to her, speaking softly, "How are you feeling now?" Quinn heard someone asking, but she still couldn't quite comprehend her feelings. With a small, uncertain voice, she replied, "Um... hot, my body feels really hot, it's strange..." Harvey chuckled softly with an adorable look on his face and continued to inquire, "Just hot, nothing else?" "I don't know... um...
