He is a high school student and the typical handsome but troubled boy who gets into fights because of his bad temper and is constantly rescued by his best friend and senpai Kira, one of the people who understand him best (and who we will later learn is a sword and also the reincarnation of Lucifer). Setsuna is in love with his sister Sarah, an innocent and passionate girl who secretly reciprocates his brother's feelings but is constantly kept away from him by their mother who suspects her son's intentions, a question Setsuna himself shares and calls himself a "monster".

Sara Mudo

She is Setsuna's younger sister, and as the series progresses it is revealed that she is actually the reincarnation of the soul of the Great Cherub Jibril (Gabriel). Jibril was one of the Four Elemental Angels, the angel of water, and opposed Sevotharte's actions as prime minister.

Sakuya Kira

Sakuya was a boy who could have been quite normal, cheerful, intelligent, the pride of his parents; until the day when, at the age of 7, he had a car accident. His mother dies trying to protect him with her own body. He himself will die, but Nanatsusaya, the divine sword of seven souls appears in front of him and offers him a contract.

Alexiel

The Organic Angel Alexiel is one of the most powerful angels in heaven and has three wings. Adam Kadamon created her before he was imprisoned by God in Etemenanki. Alexiel is the older sister of her twin brother Rosiel, who is her inorganic counterpart. When they were born only Alexiel possessed a complete body, thus being the Organic Angel, while Rosiel did not possess a body, only a soul. Plot

It's a cultural appropriation of Judeo-Christian mythology by a Japanese manga author, and the result is simply glorious. At one point, a human is infected by an angelic techno-virus, to make him completely subservient to the main villain, Rosiel, and then, in the heat of battle, he is transformed into a golem.

Alexial's rebellion is not only understandable, it is simple. Alexial rebels against senseless violence and murder committed by angels. And the antagonist, an angel who fought on God's side, is depicted as tyrannical, willing to control and murder anyone to bring about the end times.
