Instead, we have an excellent slowly growing romance with lots of plausible tension and great plots about sin and authority in Hell.

In watchmen of authentics when hell falls into a crisis that it has never seen before, Charlie turned to Alastor for assistance despite the warning from Vaggie. The author does a fantastic job with the political intrigue and with the private emotions of the characters, and there is the distinct clue of a romantic relationship budding between Charlie and Alastor. No matter how outrageous things get the author's ability to accurately and convincingly portray each character's voice and actions really shine.
