The whispers

The feeling of being watched never left Hazel. Even as she walked deeper into the pack grounds, the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. The shadows felt heavier, the air colder. But when she turned to look? Nothing. She exhaled sharply. I’m imagining things. “You look lost.” Hazel’s head snapped up. A tall man stood in front of her, arms crossed, a lazy smirk on his face. Dark hair. Green eyes. Strong build. He looked like someone who enjoyed trouble and he looked familiar “I wasn’t lost,” Hazel muttered. “Sure,” the man drawled. “Wandering around alone, looking over your shoulder every five seconds? Definitely not lost.” Hazel narrowed her eyes. “Who are you?” He placed a hand on his chest dramatically. “You wound me, Luna. The Alpha’s mate doesn’t even know my name.” Hazel’s nose scrunched. “Don’t call me that.” The man chuckled. “I’m Ronan. Callan’s Beta. Second in command. Keeper of secrets, we saw during breakfast” “oh yes no wonder you looked familiar and b

the rising threat

The dream haunted Hazel even after she woke up. Fire. A burning castle. Golden eyes watching her. And the voice—deep and ancient, whispering a warning. "Find the truth, Hazel. Or the darkness will find you first." She sat up, pressing a hand to her chest. Her heart was still racing. A knock at the door startled her. “Luna, are you awake?” Laura’s cheerful voice came through the wooden door. Hazel groaned. “Stop calling me that.” Laura giggled. “Not my choice! The Alpha wants you outside.” Of course, he did. Callan was becoming a very persistent problem. Hazel sighed, forcing herself out of bed. The moment her feet touched the cold floor, she shivered. She didn’t belong here—and yet, here she was. She quickly dressed and stepped outside, where Laura was waiting with an annoyingly bright smile. “You look well-rested,” Laura chirped. “I look exhausted,” Hazel corrected. “Same thing.” Laura shrugged. “Come on, you don’t want to keep the Alpha waiting.” Hazel rolled her eyes

remain hidden

The night was unusually cold, the kind of cold that seeped deep into your bones, making the very air around you feel like a threat. Shadows shifted restlessly, and the distant howls of wolves echoed through the woods. Hazel stood by the door, her arms crossed tightly over her chest, her breath misting in the chilled air. "Get inside," Callan's voice cut through the night like a blade, cold and commanding. He was standing a few feet away, his posture rigid, his golden eyes flickering with annoyance. Hazel glanced at him but didn’t budge. "No." Callan's eyes narrowed. "This isn't a request." She held his gaze, the tension thick between them. Despite their bond, their connection felt distant, like an invisible wall separating them. The awkwardness was undeniable. He had done nothing but push her away since they found out they were mates, and he didn't want to reject her and Hazel had her pride. She wasn't about to let him boss her around. A pack member burst through the trees, his

who was she

Hazel groaned as the morning light streamed into her room, its warmth creeping under her covers. The last thing she wanted was to leave the comfort of her bed the first thing she remembered were Ronan',s words, "give him a chance, give yourself a chance..."The door swung open with a soft creak, pulling her from her thought, Laura stepped inside with a set of training clothes in hand, her expression bright as ever."Rise and shine!" Laura chirped, walking toward the bed.Hazel groaned louder, burying her face in her pillow. "Can’t it wait just five more minutes?"Laura chuckled. "Not if you want to avoid Callan’s wrath."Hazel rolled over, blinking at her friend. "You know, you’re cruel."Laura smiled, unfazed. "Only because I care." She dropped the clothes onto the bed and then moved to the side of the room, pulling out a warm towel. "I’ll run your bath, and then I’m bringing you breakfast."Hazel blinked, confused. "Breakfast in bed?"Laura nodded, her expression serious. "You’re th

I will protect you

Hazel returned to the training grounds, but her mind was far from focused. Every time Callan moved, every time his muscles flexed, her thoughts drifted back to the kiss. Her heart pounded just remembering it."You're distracted," Callan noted, dodging her weak punch with ease."I am not!" Hazel shot back, though even she didn't believe it.Callan smirked. "Then hit me."Hazel gritted her teeth, trying to concentrate. She lunged at him, but in one swift move, he grabbed her wrist and spun her around. Before she knew it, her back was pressed against his chest."See?" he whispered against her ear. "Distracted."Hazel’s breath hitched. She needed to get a hold of herself.Ronan, who had been watching from the side, chuckled and shook his head. "You two are something else."Hazel turned to glare at him. "What’s that supposed to mean?""It means," Ronan smirked, "that I have better things to do than be a third wheel. Enjoy training—if that’s what we’re calling it." With that, he walked off,

Mine

Her heart pounded as she clung to him his scent of cedar and spices enveloping her. In a moment, he entered his room and kicked the door shut behind him. He placed her on the bed, his eyes devouring her. Hazel bit her bottom lip, suddenly nervous. "I’m a virgin," she confessed. Callan’s expression softened. He stroked her face gently. "Then you’re in luck, because you have me as your first." He then leaned over to her and slowly started kissing her. Soft kisses at first, then he kissed her deeper and slower, making her feel the heat rise inside her. He was very patient with her, he didn’t rush or rush her through it. He knew she was a virgin and she wanted to enjoy every single moment of it. Hazel felt his hands slide down her body, caressing her. Every touch, every kiss sent goose bumps to her skin. Her legs started shaking slightly and she moaned softly from the pleasure he was giving her. She had never imagined it would feel this way. Callan was the best lover any woman

the note

Hazel’s body twitched in her sleep, her mind trapped in the darkness of a nightmare. The same man appeared—the one from before. His voice was deep and chilling, sending shivers through her."I’m coming for you," he whispered, his golden eyes glowing in the shadows. "You will be mine."Hazel gasped, her heart pounding as she jolted awake. Sweat clung to her skin as she sat up, breathing heavily. The room was dim, the morning sun barely creeping in, but something felt wrong. She turned to her side, expecting to see Callan, but the bed was empty."Callan?" she called softly. No response.Frowning, she got out of bed and grabbed the nearest robe, wrapping it around herself before stepping outside the sleeping area. She expected to find Callan, maybe preparing for the day, but instead, she was met with the sight of several maids moving things around. Her brows furrowed. "What are you doing?"One of the maids stopped, bowing slightly. "The Alpha instructed us to move your things, my lady. Y

the voice

Hazel looked around again, her heart pounding in her chest. She scanned the crowd, searching for any sign of the hooded figure who had slipped her the note. But there was no one—just the murmuring voices of the pack celebrating around her.She took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm. Who could have sent this? Before she could think further, Callan’s familiar scent filled her senses, and she turned to see him approaching.“Hey,” he greeted, his voice low and warm.Hazel quickly stuffed the note into the folds of her dress, forcing a smile. “Hey.”Callan's eyes searched hers. “You okay?”“Yeah,” she said, nodding a little too quickly. “Just… a little overwhelmed.”His lips curled into a smirk. “Wanna get out of here?”Relief flooded her, and she nodded. “Umm… yeah.”Callan reached for her hand, his warmth grounding her as he led her out of the crowded hall. They moved through the corridors in silence, stepping into the cool night air.Instead of taking her back to their chamber

I am you

Callan’s voice echoed in her ears, distant yet urgent."Hazel! Hazel, wake up!"She felt herself being shaken, her mind struggling to escape the darkness. Then, a sudden gasp left her lips as her eyes flew open. The world spun around her before settling into focus—Callan’s worried face hovering above her. His hands gripped her shoulders, his golden eyes filled with concern.“What happened?” she whispered, trying to steady her breathing."You passed out," Callan said, his brows furrowed. "One second you were fine, and then you just... collapsed."Hazel sat up slowly, her heart still hammering. The words from her vision echoed in her mind— You are mine, not him. I am coming for you.She pressed a hand to her forehead, feeling cold despite the warmth of Callan’s body beside her.Callan studied her face, his worry deepening. "hey are you okay?"Hazel hesitated. She wanted to tell him everything—the note, the vision, the voice that haunted her dreams—but something held her back. Would he u

The bracelet

Hazel gritted her teeth, gripping the stick in her hand. "Shut the fuck up and show yourself!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the silent forest, but that was then, the forest wasn't quite anymore, the sound of birds returned, but the voice..there was nothing. The only sound was her own heavy breathing and the rustling of leaves in the wind and of course the birds and running squirrel. Her grip tightened on the stick. "Hello?" she called again, her voice less steady this time.Still nothing.Hazel’s heart pounded in her chest. Was she imagining things? Was she finally losing her mind? She let out a frustrated breath, brushing dirt off her clothes. "Maybe I hit my head too hard some where," she muttered. But her mind was clear. Too clear. The whispers, the eerie stillness of the water, the voice in her head—it had all happened.Hazel exhaled sharply. She couldn’t waste time worrying about ghosts or hallucinations. She had a bigger problem. She had to get to Damien’s pack.Calla
