Adriana’s POV It was a pounding headache that welcomed me back to consciousness. the dull throb settling deep behind my temples as I groaned and forced my eyes open. Sunlight filtered through the open curtains, its rays slicing through the room. It should have been warm and comforting. Instead, it felt intrusive while stabbing into my skull like tiny needles.
