REGINA'S POVDays had gone by since a conversation sparked between Nicholas and I. It was as if every time he looked at me, he was haunted by the memory of the kiss we shared, the kiss he so much regretted. I could not help but to wonder, would it have hurt less if he had decided to pretend like it never happened? Even if we would not dare to think about it, at least we would still have our conversations. But the house had grown silent ever since that faithful yet unfaithful night. Would I call it cowardice or simple disgust? Perhaps he was intoxicated by the smell of the rain against the grass, blinded by the heavy downpour that soaked us, and so he ended up kissing a frog instead of the princess. Every single day at work, he spoke to me, gave me tasks and ordered me around, but at night, I was as good as invincible, worse than a shadow. Unseen and unnoticed.
